I just bought a PS3 to play the game because my Gaming Computer blew up on me today.

This game feels unplayable on ps3... my framerate is like 15 FPS.

Is this normal? Do I need to do something to help improve this?

You would think if they made a game for a console you could get by with atleast 30fps.

Maybe my PC spoiled me.

But For a 360 to play The Elder Scrolls game the name is slipping my mind. And this console cant play this game doesnt make sense to me.

That sounds wrong. Sorry, I don't have a PS3 so I can't give you any advice, only that shouldn't be happening.

I'm having no problems at all. Everything is relatively seamless. Could it have to do with you connection? I'm no tech dude but just tossing it out there... Hope you can resolve the issue, its a blast...

I play on PS3 and I have no issues with the graphics and framerate being too low. But then again like I said before I have no experience on a high-end gaming PC to compare it to.

I play on an LCD 52" TV and HDMI cables so maybe that helps?

That doesn't sound right at all, I play on ps3 and am having no issues at all with my framerate. Are you playing on an older TV (I'm 99% sure that doesn't matter), or maybe your connection isn't quite there and it's stuttering?

If its a connection issue try putting your ps3 in DMZ to have a clear connection. Its not advisable on PC but ps3 should be OK. That's how i have mine. Like everyone else has said,I think it plays just fine on ps3.

Haha, I reset my settings on my PS3 that I had been messing with, Changed my TV setting to Gaming mode plus adjusted some settings on my tv. And ran around for a bit. My eyes just hadnt adjusted from the 60FPS on Maximum settings. I was all sad. Either way, I'm enjoying it now.

I was just spoiled from my Gaming PC.

I notice low framerate in large fights, but the primary issue is when the connection slips at all and it takes 60 seconds for a player-swamed FATE to load in.

I don't have any big expectations graphically on the PS3, XI was similarly stripped down on PS2 versus PC. ( I'd 2-box the wife's account on PS2 and mine on PC in the old days, stark, ugly differences.)

I also drive an older Volvo, and while it's visually boring, not fast off the line, it gets me where I need to go, and can be quite surprising once it's got some inertia. If I want to go faster, I have to grab the torch and build something lighter to fit the Need.

It will be interesting to see how well the PS4 handles the game.

My framerate is terrible in FATE. It's almost not playable. Many times the mobs and other players won't show up after 10-15s depending on the number of players nearby. One thing that can help is to turn off all effects of other players and mobs.

The framerate is pretty bad. Hasn't made it unplayable for me even with lots of characters onscreen. I wonder if turning off spell effects in the options would help? Also I'm gonna do that dmZ thing too.

Playing on the PS3 (though I haven't played on PC so I have nothing for comparison) has been very enjoyable. I think the game looks great - and I cant wait to see what itll look like on PS4.

Make sure your using optimal settings on your TV. Also, check your wireless strength.

Sorry to hear about your PC.

Peace.

Adjusting the Spell Effects helped me out a lot in FATEs. I have mine set to Some Effects for Party, and No Effects for others.

FPS will fluctuate wildly based on number of people around.

15-20 fps sounds about right unless you're in a very quiet area. Keep in mind how old the PS3 is and that unlike an offline game, there is no limit or design system on how many people or monsters will be onscreen.

You should of known it would be quite inferior to pc, it's pretty damn obvious.

For me, a big part of it is the character animations. It's obvious on the PS3 that they're much more jerky. It makes the frame rate seem slower than it is sometimes.

I though the PS3 only exported game data at 720p, not 1080p?

My framerate is ok, but then again, I never played PC as a comparison. There are likely some load issues I don't notice becuase I am like a guy who was born in a shadow box and never revealed that the world is not shadows. I suppose that sometimes it takes a little bit to draw in the enemies and characters but the draw distance of the backgrounds seems acceptable so I alwasy thought it was the servers... But hey, the PS3 was to get you playing so you don't miss any progress, correct? If nothing else, it will give you incentive to drive over to the company that made your computer and punch the supervisor (or maybe you could just save up to buy a computer from someone else better).

I wish PS3 graphics could be set on the PC version. I have a gaming laptop purchased this year. Benchmark scored 7,500 and in Gridania FPS is routinely 15 on the lowest settings. When loading armor for a mob of players the game halts completely for a couple of seconds. This game is pretty demanding. I'm guessing running on an SSD would help a lot with the loading.

I have played the PS3 version and the framerate is pretty low. I would say that the FATEs are unplayable (in my opinion). I mean, I certainly wouldn't want to FATE grind on a PS3. That would be hell.

I would recommend playing the PC version, even if you can't play the game on max. If you really want to play on a console I would definitely wait for the PS4 version.

Killua, and it my bit cause I am drunk but go suck a donkey please.

I'm having no frame rate issues, the lowest I've seen mine did to is about 40ish, other wise I run stable around 70

I haven't noticed a lower frame rate in large fights in the PS3, but there is a trick they use to mitigate the load: the animations of those around you become less detailed, such as choppiness when observing a bird flapping it's wings, or people running like they were Cactuars. So it may look like you're losing frames because of that effect, but your own character remains fluid.
