Is Auto-Sort inventory broken?Follow
I had the option set in my settings, but I have 2 stacks of unfinished animal hide in different tabs of my inventory, the same with HQ animal hide. Plus everything is all over the place in random tabs. Have I missed something with this?
It doesn't sort every time a new item goes in, it simply looks to put it in the appropriate tab. If the tab designated for it is full, it goes to the first available from there. In other words, things only get sorted individually, as they go in. It's never sorted as a whole.
But none of my tabs are full, and why isn't it stacking items? Surely that is the most useful part of a sort inventory function.

One is probably High Quality and one is regular quality. Those don't stack together.
No, I have 2 stacks of regular quality and 2 stacks of HQ, in different tabs.

Then one of the stacks is full.
What is the stack number in this game? And why are they in different tabs if none of them are full?
Stack size is 99 and a full stack shows as red on the bottom inventory grid. They are in different tabs because the one that was designated for it was full, so it went to a different one, then you got rid of something in the one that was full. It won't go back and move that other stack where it should have been EVER. things only get 'sorted' when they are initially put into inventory. If the stacks aren't full, eiher you've experienced something that hasn't happened to me or one of them once WAS full, but you used some of the stack, so now you have two.
I'm only level 17, none of my tabs are full nor do I have 99 stacks of anything. I have 5 HQ animal skins in 1 tab and 3 in another. I don't remember exactly how many animal skins I have but it's not 99. I haven't done any crafting yet to use them either. I think it my be a bug on my end then. Thanks!
Also, is there a way to manually un split items?

On the ps3, hitting square while an item stack is highlighted will give you the option to split it. I assume on PC, right clicking it will give you the same option.

You speak truth, for both platforms, sir. Just as a general rule, Right clicking with mouse or Square(PS3)/X(Xbox 360) with controller will give you a context sensitive menu for just about anything; players, items, gear, menus, etc.
