At the top of forums: XIV APP :)

It's an app I created from 1.0 that does translation, parsing and sound notifications based on events you put in.

Oh wow, you created it? Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have a completely unrelated question regarding it. It seems that either Accuracy is either not being parsed correctly, or Accuracy is broken in the game, as it always parses 100%. What do you think?

I cannot seem to get this to work either. Windows 7, running the app as administrator. I'm using Norton as well but I refuse to uninstall it. I see that by default the app is being blocked in Norton's firewall settings. Even after setting it to allow the app doesn't work.

Would love to see a solution to this! I can see this program being very handy.

NLOG is enabled, but all I see is a Logs/ folder and there's a XML file called '2013_09_06_16.29.45_ChatHistory.xml'.
No Error folder or something else.

Is there any chance to start the app in some kind of debug mode?

Edit: I'm using the german version of the game!

German parsing isn't support yet :P I need someone to help with it lol since I don't speak it :D

Do you have a tab that has absolutely every chat line enabled for it? If you do; and you know you missed please provide a line sample from the chathistory.xml and I can reparse it myself using the "select previous file" button :)

Thanks!

1. Does the plugins tab show? (star icon)
2. Is there anyway to add the directory of the app to norton as a trusted location?

The app does two things:
Uses the internet to for:
update checks
getting profile photos for avatar
importing your lodestone ID on button click only
google translation

Uses windows dll's for:
reading game memory

Norton could be blocking the reading now but allowing the internet traffic.

I can't get the plugin Icon to show (Star). Windows 8, Disabled Windows Defender and Windows Firewall, not using any other trash AV. Extracted using Winrar. Disabled UAC and ran as admin just for ***** in giggles. Version is 2.0.4995.13314
These are the files in the FFXIVAPP.Plugin.Log Folder:

FFXIVAPP.Plugin.Log.dll
Logo.png
PluginInfo.xml

Fired up FFXIV-APP after I was already in game.

If you right click the zip file and select properties does it say blocked with an unblock button? If so delete the extracted folder, re-enable firewall and defender (by default they've NEVER blocked me from using it), and extract again :D

1. Yes the plugins tab shows. If it makes any difference, I think the app does recognize when I'm online/offline as the title of the app will have "OFFLINE" at the end of it but when I'm online that text is not there. No data shows up though.

When the game is running, it says the current process ID is 6184 if that helps.

Made sure my character info was entered correctly in the options as well. All other settings are at default.

I have Nlog enabled but I do not see a Log folder.

2. From what I can tell Norton is only blocking the Client exe file. Setting it to allow access should mean the exe has full access inbound and outbound.

I also added an entry for the exe for Windows Firewall and made sure it's set to allow all.

No luck. :(

Try resetting all settings to default, and restarting the app. If that fails; then something deep in system is prevent ram from being read :(

Reset and restarted. Still doesn't work.

If this matters at all: my default documents folder is not located on C drive, I have it pointed to another drive. If the program is specifically looking for C > Users > My profile > My documents, it would not be able to find anything there.

It only looks there for saving avatars. Using Environment.SpecialFolders.Documents, so it should auto find it. :( I'm sorry; at this time I'm not sure what's causing the issue. I had something similar with a friend and redownloading, unblocking, unzipping and resetting settings worked.

That being said perhaps try the next one which I'm uploading today with beta "German" support on parsing enabled, and arcanist dot fix.

I have all log files checked, but I also don't think I miss. Like, I don't recognize a single instance of missing, and everyone I talk to says the same.. So, I don't suspect the program to be at fault here, but I am going to parse later in level 1 gear / naked and see if I can get a miss.

My plugin's show up (after some re-extracting) but nothing is being logged or parsed.

I ran it as Admin.

I have Norton.

I'm on Windows 8 64-bit.

I allowed it on Norton and made a special exclude folder.

I read through this thread 3 times to try and get it to work.

Kay...so I'm at a loss. I have been trying to get this app to work for the last 2 days and still no luck. The star icon on the left for the plugins menu is there and when I click on it I'm give the options for the translator, the sound plugin and the parser but nothing works. I was able to put my character info in and it loaded the Lodestone ID and I have all the battle chat log options checked for everything in-game but still nothing =[

I'm running windows 7 64bit and I have norton installed, and I am running as Admin(also the only user account on this comp)

There is a setting option to choose french as the game language :) Did you choose that? It's in the main settings panel icon on the left under "character settings"

Icehunter I noticed it only translates Norwegian 1/5th of the time but If I paste the text into google translate it 100% translates everything. Any clue as to why the app isn't automatically translating Norwegian for me?

It's set to translate japanese by default and checks if the character code is > 128 in ascii. So if JP only is checked and the line does not contain a ascii code above 128, it won't translate.

If you turn off "translate JP only" then it sends every line to google. If you're sending alot of lines google may throttle you're requests.

Ice thanks for taking the time to respond. I've used your app back in 1.0 without any issue. I set it to translate everything (jp only off) and it just won't translate Norwegian into english but If I set it to lets say Japanese it will translate the Norwegian text 100% of the time into Japanese. Any idea whats going on sir?
#51 Sep 11 2013 at 6:14 PM Rating: Decent
also I'm using an app on chrome to translate Norwegian website into English and its Google based. When I click translate to english it will pop up translating english to english, its not detecting the Norwegian language, but if I manually set the language in the app to Norwegian > English bam 100% of it get translated. I guess this is an issue with google translator not detecting Norwegian properly?
