Actually it's a cultural thing. At work, I've got a few very large customers in Japan and when dealing with them, statements of that nature are essentially requisite to maintaining the business relationship as a sign of respect on both sides. It's not only extremely common when dealing with Japanese folks, but you'll also get way further with them if you know their cultural norms and go out of your way to express things in that manner towards them as well.

Well, I was there for 1.0 when they truly screwed it up. This game was rebuilt on speculation and hope. SE truly didn't believe this many people would jump in as fast or in such quantities considering the bad-mouthing by everyone 3 years ago.
But you know what? The days I can't get in, I could go play WoW or Rift or a few other games. But I don't. I hang around all the FFXIV forums in between log-in tries. I read all these posts by you special snowflakes having your tantrums because you're just one of a few hundred thousand people who can't get in. I had issues with my account and in time got it fixed. I still don't have access to my 1.0 character, but I'm going to wait til this all dies down. It's called patience.
Grow the hell up.
