I do not think this "current wold is full try again " nonsense has anything to do with the actual amount of people on a world. I've gotten the message several times right after I hit the start button and before any of the world information populates. How can it register my information before I have picked a world to load a character from?

FFXIV probably connects you to the lobby server after you select 'start'. You enter the lobby and select your world server from there.

The people it would effect are ps3 users.
SE could place a reason to actually log out, decrease the amount of "rested" exp you gain while being in an inn/sanctuary while logged in. While increasing the amount one could gain while logged out for so long... something along them lines. Make logging out the norm.

Cant you tape down the analog stick so you would run in circles in the inn?

I would agree but ive changed my mind, 10 hours to log in, Im staying afk logged on all weekend.

You can't be serious... you're doing something wrong if if took you or takes you or anyone that long to log in. I don't always get in right away but 10 hours??? Try staying at your computer for 15-20 mins you'll get in. You can't try 4 or 5 times then get up and leave for a while then try again later an expect to get in. You have to stay and spam it order to get in until they fix this problem.

Yes, that's right. They gambled years of development costs to rebuild a game with a terrible reputation, and now when it's successful they won't spend a penny. That totally must be the explanation.

Some people have really bad luck. I've been trying pretty steadily for about 45 minutes now with no luck. I had a few 2002 errors thrown in for fun and now I'm back to the server list not loading. Not really trying to make a point here, but I don't think it's fair to assume that anyone can get in within 15-20 minutes of spamming if they really wanted to.

I wonder if any of you rocket scientists have considered the idea that although all servers are jammed, some probably contain a larger number of characters than others, and therefore it's harder to get onto certain servers than others. Christ almighty. You don't need a degree in computer science to realize that certain worlds might be more overcrowded than others. Just an IQ above 60....

That being said- can't you whiny @#%^s just go away for 2 more days until they plug in the extra servers? Please? Or do we have to listen to the nonstop infantile whining until baby gets his baba. We get it, they @#%^ed up. If you're that pissed, don't play the game. But no amount of rage and venom on a fan website will change how fast they get those servers plugged in, and frankly 95% of the people here give exactly 0 @#%^s about the fact that you're upset.

Why are you calling everyone 'son'?
Unless of course you mean 'sun' because we brighten up your day, then I understand.

Panties in a twist much?

I am on a legacy server. I realize they are stuffed to the brim. I also understand it's a holiday weekend. I wasn't complaining at all, just stating that people aren't getting in within 30 minutes of spamming. Learn to read you ****.
#41REDACTED, Posted: Sep 01 2013 at 10:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yea yea yea yo. Keep it real, son. Calling people "son" just sounds better. It doesn't have the same affect if I was like... "Word is bond, daughter." Or like... "I'll mess you up daughter. If you don't log-out when you're done with the game I'll beat that ***, daughter."

Exactly, I'd say if someone is idle 30 mins boot 'em.

It would alleviate a lot of login issues by simply booting inactive characters.

5000 for each server. After that the server just refuses the connection and you get the 1017 error.

But there is also the log in server that handles every server's characters, so that's the one that is having issues when you get errors right when pressing start and trying to get the server list. It handles traffic of all the players, not just those on a single server.

Are they running this game on a 4 year old laptop? 5000 per server lol

I'm pretty sure the stormrage server in wow has around 20k characters (and is old as dirt) and these guys can do 5000....what a joke.

The idle timer won't work since they have an auto-run feature. All you would need to do is go into the inn and auto-run against a wall since hitting a wall doesn't stop movement.

Edit: Never mind, I see two other people already thought of the same exact thing as me. If three people in this thread alone thought up the very same thing many others will too, and just think how creative and out-of-the-box others will get when desperation sets in and they have to find a way around the idle-timer.

Pretty sure they said the issues wasn't that there were 5000 total, but that everyone was in a few areas on the server causing the overloads.

Idle timers don't depend on if your character is actually moving but rather if you are pushing buttons.

So simply running into a wall with autorun won't prevent you from logging out.

I mean, I'm being slightly presumptuous. If Blizzard, the folks that made SWToR, and a whole slew of other MMO's could figure it out, so can SE.
