It's hit or miss on which servers show up when trying to get in. Keep trying eventually they will show up for you. The bigger problem is if you can get in game or the infamous 1017 World Full Error.

ty for update!

It is just sad for SE:( Both my wife and I will probably move on to another game and its not us being one of those cry babies. We usually get off work during peek times and most of our friend are on a specific server.... I think any time you pay for a service or product you generally hope that you wouldn't have many restrictions with whatever your dealing with. I would be upset say if I pre ordered a ps4 and the retailer told me I was getting one then came back a week later and told me they oversold it.

SE basically oversold the servers by not preparing for it correctly and expect the players to be inconvenienced about it.

They weren't prepared because they didn't expect the game to be so popular.

Really! you are moving on because the game was effectively delayed for a week ? Well there are many thousands of people waiting for that spot to open up, so I doubt you will be missed and all because you can't wait for a few days for server capacity to be increased. No of course it's not you being cry babies...why ever would we think that.

Which is worse... being unprepared or having low standards for your own product? Smiley: frown

If you wanna be precise, the game was delayed just short of 3 years. God forbid that a company who has been in the business for decades have their **** together.

I'm going to give them as much time as they give me to make a decision. They want to give me an extra week? They get an extra week to win my sub.

All of this 'you won't be missed' nonsense is really bad form. Do people not understand that is the same attitude that caused many of the issues that led us here? Consumers are used to being taken care of by the businesses that serve them. I'm going to go ahead and translate your post from asshat speak to something more tactful...

@ Levauron

Yes, SE screwed up and didn't have enough servers up and ready, but they are already working on the solution and it should be fixed sometime this week. They also said they will be extending the trial period for a week to make up for the delays. You don't have to make any decisions about subbing until then so you might as well take advantage of it. You've got nothing to lose.

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

That is a excuse.
Well I respect Yoshi because he made a great game, but what else was he going to say really?...
Lets face SE does not have the money to throw behind his game period and that is what happened.. A company with money would have been prepared, They had pre-orders numbers and had a pretty good idea how many people were going to be playing in advance They had to make up the units and also send out the codes so how could you not be unprepared unless you are the stupidest company around.... The company is broke period. Companies with money would have been prepared. This aint short a server or two.

I feel Sorry for Yoshi because he made such a good game and is thrown in this awkward position. This will hurt game sales period. Some will come back but the longer it takes the more people will just move on.

I just want to throw in that FFXIV is not the first game to have problems like this. If I remember correctly when GW2 came out I could be waiting for a while to get in game. The also introduced character creation blocks on high pop servers, offered transfers and what not. To me this seems like a norm for a new MMO being released. Give it three months and a good 1/4-1/2 of those playing now will be gone.

@Nashred An excuse, they had realistic expectations that the game would be a marginal success not what it is today, to be honest I thought the same as well. Really where is your negative attitude and snide comments going to get you, no where other than the land of sub-default. Just be patient EVERY MMO I have played has had growing pains, be it stability issues, bugs, over populated worlds etc... these are massive undertaking and there will be issues unforseen.

Here is a lasting note: As my father would say complaining and moaning ain't going to get you anything other than a swift kick in the *****

Who is complaining and moaning I am stating a fact SE is broke Its a publicly traded company so it is no secret SE has major losses... Look it up if you don't believe me... Google Square enix layoffs and see how many people they laid off.. Then look up Square Enix losses and you will see they are loosing hundreds of millions of dollars over the last year. People are just making excuses for a broke company that could not afford to be prepared.
