in the mmo history if you recall some major bad launch you couls say, eq2 wow aoc, but i believe ffxiv is the only game in history that had 2 horrible launch

that is just funny, catch you all in game, someday when i win over 1017 :P

Ragnarok Online 2 had a few terrible launches. The first version of the game was scrapped like FFXIV 1.0 was and they rebuilt it... The remake was finally launched several years later but then had to be delayed more because it was too buggy and too many people were trying to get in so the servers were congested (sound familiar?). Later when it did finally launch the mechanics were crap and it quickly turned into a pay to win kind of game with still a lot of bugs.

So, FFXIV isn't the only one by far, but at least it's turned out to be a magnificent game itself.

I love the game and have had a fantastic time when I have been able to get in.

Unfortunately, the HNM 1017, is far too powerful for me and has prevented me from levelling.

I have managed to get my THM to 32 so far - I am pretty sure I would be pretty close to 50 but for the the sheer power of 1017.

On the plus side, I have had chance to play my legacy character so it has not been a total bust.

I pretend 1017 is Leaping Lizzy and I'm tabbing (or in this case pressing Insert keypad button) constantly until I tag it and successfully claim a Login.

This made me laugh really hard, thank you. God, some fond (read as: horrible) memories of that.

Ragnarok had a stable launch but the lag due to the tremendous amount of players online at one time during the F2P was unbearable at times.

Letting everyone in can cause pretty big problems itself but you see less complaints since people are playing (albeit, lagging) instead of posting on forums.

How is this a bad launch? Game has TOOOO many players. 1017 is player made cuz of the 5k limit. ppl staying logged in keeping it capped. Bad launch = little to no players.

A bad launch doesn't mean little to no players. Plenty of bad launches for successful games.

These current login issues, that will be persisting for at least a week, that denies rather large swathes of customers at any one time from even logging into the servers makes this a bad launch.

Game is good. Their hardware is trash.

i can sympathize. i had the habit of doing a /sea all when playing ffxi to see if the game was dying (only to realise 5 yeara after i left the game it is still populated). on the busiest hours of the busiest days during the prime days (earlu to mid CoP), there were 3000 ppl per server.

this has on avg 4000+ all the time. it sure isnt smth easily projectable. despite having to agree it is not good for publicity, when you are in the game, there are absolutely no complaints - just sheer enjoyment.

I'm sure many would disagree with me, but I would love to see a server reset every few hours. I know party's will break, and alot of people will get their fun interrupted. But it would clean out the afk's and give a few a chance to play for a bit

I cannot make excuses for a game that has problems. Sorry just doesn't work like that with big companies.

I have another record. The most fun I've had in a video game only a weeks time in years. Thanks FFXIV!
