Im on leviathan and i have been here for 15 minutes and in the sanctuary there are currently 19 people who have not moved for the whole 15 minutes...

I am so angry, i should not be because its a fracking video game. But some people are selfish and are *** hats.

So chill. You don't know what they're doing while afk.
Reading websites for game info, reading zam just because, giving their kid a quick bath before bed.
You don't know. So don't condemn. You'll never go afk ever, right?

If you were smart youd not log out either

No i afk, and i leave. I know that there is someone trying to log in. I doubt all of them were washing their kids. But who knows, im not condeming. But if everyone gets in there heads to never log out, some people are going to get screwed. Therefore people will get angry and quit.

In return your sabotaging your own game, so never log out. it might be a quick fix now but it wont help you in the long run.

I myself won't quit, i like this game too much. I just want the game to succeed. I understand that not everyone is afking until they decided to play again.

Sorry if i came across like a spoiled tween.

I got frustrated because i am behind. and my guild is damn close to raiding. the 1017 error has cost me HOURS of gameplay. i know it sounds dumb. But sadly gaming is my life lol

Well if gaming is your life, then you would know that the best time to login is in the morning to mid-afternoon or late night. The later you get in the day (until it gets really late), the harder it will be to login. I know it's unfortunate, but complaining about 1017 and people who go AFK won't fix it. The servers should start to improve in a few days.

I'm not sure if your playing nonstop, but that is still a lot of playtime. There are people who can only play when they get off of work (around the peak time). These people hardly get to play at all because it can be really hard to play after 5 or 6 (without spamming for an hour).

Whenever the number of people playing is less than the maximum server capacity. It's anybody's guess when that is...

My day today went like this:

Do a level 15 dungeon
Afk for 20 minutes to work on laundry
Do a level 15 dungeon
Afk for 30 minutes to go prepare dinner and stick it in the oven

etc.

I'm sure if someone saw me chilling at an aetheryte during those thirty minutes while I was making meatloaf they probably freaked out, but this is just a fact of life of MMOs and being an adult: There will be afks, and thank the Twelve that a game is designed to accommodate it for once.

Most players are playing.

19 x ~25 sanctuaries = ~500 players max many of which are legitimately just afk (taking a ****, making a sandwich).

On the other hand the line up outside is massive. Even if you booted every person that stopped playing for 1 minute it would barely impact the 1017 problem.

I afk in private areas like most people. I wish I took a screenshot. I was in a building by myself and when I woke up their was about 20 people in there afk just like me. People don't afk in plain sight.

This. Anyone with kids knows that it's nigh impossible to avoid munchkin aggro.

I personally have not gotten my ps3 setup to play yet, as my pc is not ready for the game yet. either way. i personally have no problem with afk'rs, just as long as they are doing something legit, and not just staying on to keep their spot online for days on end. In a few weeks it won't really matter, but what i really have a problem with, is people like starxxx having an issue with afk people, just because he/she cannot log in, after already putting in a good 8+hour play time. Im not going to judge by saying get a life, but i am gonna ask, what is it that you can't do in the mean time while you wait for your "second life" to come back around. I mean really, go play ffxi for a bit while you wait, if you really must be online that is.

that all being said.... i will probably be pulling super play times as well as soon as i log on, so what ever really....
