I did it with 3 other people from my FC, alll of us were doing it for the first time. We new the gist of it, just needed to put it into practice. Got it on the third try.

I can TOTALLY see how that fight could get ridiculous with people who don't understand basic positioning dynamics / how to pay attention to more than one thing though.

I can't remember what it's called but it's the lvl15 duty with the turtle. You're not suppose to kill it. So what does everyone do? They slam on it until it's low in health, stops, and then the healer delivers the final blow....

Inevitably you're going to find those that just don't pay attention and just Leroy everything for whatever reason. There's always someone who charges into battle right at the beginning without any warning or time to prep. You'll get the people in Copperbell versus the slime that just don't get it, even after 15 minutes of pounding and a full chat log of yelling that you have to let the bomb seperate it. DPS that spam abilities and try to kite or THM that spam their AOEs. I absolutely love that they have hard fights though, because it will eventually weed out these types.

That thing was fun. LNC and MRD ignored me and THM, both promptly died, THM held hate and kited while I set the bombs up and kept him alive and we beat it without the melees. :D

Good times.

Video of it being duo'd or you are full of crap. "Easily" implies that it is possible for the majority of the game.

No one can both survive and put out enough DPS to kill the heart as a duo.

edit: Referring to Titan.

Aren't the story mode fights all the easy fights?

There are hard versions of all these battles, right?

And Yoshi-P said they made Bahamut's Coil so hard you'll be crying by the end.

Did I do this with you? Sounds like exactly what happened to ne.

I did this a 2nd time for kicks and it took my party 20+ tries. Apparently someone in my party couldn't strafe and chew bubble gum at the same time so the landslide kept knocking this person over the edge. I can't believe I stayed for the entire duration. With sheer luck we finally beat him with 10 min to spare.

To be fair I went through a few runs where it was explained to run to the side, every now and then myself or one of the others would get blown off even though clearly out of the way...

Finally I got in a party and some one explained it properly, run to the side and THEN towards Titan just in case it hits you anyway. Sure enough we beat him right away. I scheduled myself for DF again right after and shared the info and 2 of the people in that party had had similar experiences and once again, we beat it on the second try.

Actually it's plausible. I tanked Titan without healer and only 1 other DPS, survived for good 5 mins before we died due to Rock/Heart/whatever that was, cause we didn't know we have to kill the Rock/Heart/the heck. Pretty easy to tank as a WAR due to self heal and large pool of Hp. Also since we didn't know bout them Heart/Rock, we just focused on Titan and did put it down to 1% Hp before the screen flash and everything reset. Once we know we had to kill those things, it became pretty easy.

I also tanked through Titan jump by staying till because he could at most took off 30% of my Hp with the jump, and I would always be full health prior (inner beast <3). Well, mostly because I'm terrible at evading that jump.

Like that Garuda Easy mode, we only wiped once because it's first run for 3 out of 4 (at 10% Garuda health as well). Once we know what to do, it became flawless run even with the whateverthingy Garuda did in the middle, we all had more than 50% hp to survive and plenty of rooms to spare. Gotta say, those fights are plenty easier than in 1.0 due to latency made it much harder to evade attacks. It isn't as hard as people made them out to be, or at leas people who played 1.0. Blergh, Ifrit Extreme with latency.

Wait until hard mode.

You want to see incompetence just you wait.

Happened in Rift, which had some decently hard endgame dungeons. I remember my server fled pve and hid in pvp queues after that...ruined endgame but was funny.

Do the game a favor. Teach bad players early...so that when they reach endgame...its not so bad.

So basically 1.0 lolatency did us a favour. It's barely a week from launch and LS like Bluegatr already cleared Bahamut coil 2, cause that Ifrit Extreme lag was something like what doesn't kill you, make you stronger.

I kid I kid.

My first PUG attempt went horribly wrong, wipe after wipe. Healer kept getting knocked off edge or DPS/DD (god, I hate having to type that now, lest someone unload a technicality bomb on you) would fail to break from Titan to release other members and boss was killing squishies with AoE because I had to kite him over there to try and free him. Wasn't taking heart out fast enough, the list goes on. And yes, I had even made a few mistakes first few tries, as no one knew what to expect and we had to discover it together, but some simply weren't catching on. Eventually, had to call it quits as all gear was broke. Repaired, queued back up, got in. I took a minute to explain the mechanics to the new people and after a standard 1st wipe to put my explanation into perspective, beat him on the second try.

Moral of the story? I'm inclined to agree with the OP. :)

I just did the fight myself and I quite enjoyed it.

None of the mechanics are individually that difficult to deal with, but they all require party members to pay attention to what's going on and react to it quickly or face a wipe. I was doing it in a PUG and it took about seven tries for us to get it right as the healer would run into the red circle on the outside of the platform during a jump, or someone would stand in the line attack and get punted, or one time we managed to not kill the Heart quickly enough and died to his ultimate.

One thing I will note though is that latency is not your friend here. If the server hasn't heard that you're not out of that line attack when it goes off... off you go. Whether or not you were actually standing in it when the attack went off. There is very little time to react to that attack. That's not a bad thing, but it catches people off guard who are used to having time to think about what they're doing and not thinking a step ahead.

I managed to beat the fight in 3 tries. The healer we had just couldn't get out of his knock-off ability. Without a healer, we were of course doomed to fail.

I then, a day later, went back to do it with a friend, as they needed to beat it still. I had to have gotten the most uncoordinated, snail-reaction group the game could have possibly put together for me. EVERY SINGLE TIME, the healer and the other DPS were getting blown off. I explained how to dodge it multiple times, they just COULD NOT grasp the fact that E and Q made you move out of the big rectangle that makes you fly off the stage. I almost resorted to caveman-speak, but we managed to kill it on our like...12th try.

Did the fight again tonight to help an FC member. We picked up our tank and healer through DF.

Went in and I was the only one who had cleared. I gave them the run-down, then went in and healer got knocked off the edge, so we all jumped off to reset. 2nd run got to the heart, then I had a noob moment and accidentally hit Elusive Jump instead of Jump and went right over the edge. 3rd run we got through with zero problems.

So, not so terrible and actually kind of fun to teach some others who will hopefully do the same.

11 attempts with PUGs. Two different groups.

Garuda took two attempts with one PUG and is supposedly the harder of the two.

Hate to tell you, but Titan can be difficult not only because players 'suck' but because the server might register you inside his cone attack while it shows you outside on your screen. It was really annoying to see.
