That's nice, DoTA 2 generally has around 300K concurrent users.

How is that relevant to FFXIV? Being that they're different games altogether?

It means the world is full.

It means that tens of thousands of people are playing with no problems and refuse to log out.

Everyone is dealing with it at some point.

Creating 1,000,000 threads about SE needing to hurry up and "fix" too many people loving the game is kind silly.

Believe it or not there IS a limit to what technology can do.

In the meantime, deal with it. Like I am now, instead of complaining. Please. It is getting really old.

le sigh~

The game was also designed for this... FFXIV wasn't, nor should it be. That's comparing apples and oranges -- Two completely different games in every single way.

No one reads Terms and Conditions. It isn't surprising when people complain about things they agreed to. Gives me a good chuckle though. Nice one darexius.

Are you saying EVE and FFXIV have the exact same architecture and are built to serve the exact same gaming environment with the exact same in-game conditions?

Facts are facts, and the fact is that when I bought the game I bought the launcher, just like everyone else did. I can keep that installed and as long as the launcher installs and starts it's working as intended. The rest of the service is entirely in SE's hands. They can close this game down tomorrow and not one person can do a thing about it.

Wanted to throw my support behind the OP on this one.

As someone who has been able to get on the game every day, and play excessively, since launch...yes its a total pain.

However. Issue was addressed, tomorrow evening they will attempt a physical hardware fix (and I think increasing maximum connections to current servers)

No need to complain anymore...it wasn't that horrible...for a popular mmorpg it wasn't half bad.

No the launch wasn't a failure. The game itself runs flawlessly without bugs (maybe a few for all I know nothing remotely major though)

All the issues that have happened since EA are because of the games success too...which is good.

Glad this website is keeping its forums clean. Theres no point in letting a new thread every 5min about this issue pop up when the issue has been addressed by SE and the fix is tomorrow. Be patient.

Also, unless this is your first mmorpg. You should really wait at least a week before jumping into a new game, unless your OK with possible log in issues, lag, and possible bugs. There is no reason why a mmo vet should be complaining about the issues this game had. You know what to expect. Don't pretend that "oh its 2013 and technical issues don't exist anymore"

So to stop people from complaining.. you make a thread complaining.. about complaining? alrighty then lemme know how that works for you. It's not like this is the internet and people will complain even more to troll but k. If as a admin it bothers you said complaint posts are crowding the forums.. be a admin and delete them? Just a thought.

I am simply asking nicely for people to stop. Complain all you want. Just do it all in one thread. It's that easy.
And yes I posted a thread because I am not going to sit here and PM every single person. Work smarter, not harder.

Ah, the old 'complaining about the complainers by making a complaint thread asking them to stop complaining' trick. This always worked before, brilliant idea!!

Well I could just sticky a 1017 thread and lock anything else that talks about it elsewhere. But see that wouldn't fit my personality.

Also, anyone watch episode 21 of attack on titan? Why is this anime so good?!

Well, that would be far more efficient than this.

Yeah, it would. But again. I would rather people just cool their heels. Again, I have no problem with people venting their anger, as long as they don't go crazy with threads. Other topics deserve to be on page 1 as much as 1017 does. This is of course a common problem in any major forum, but I can still attempt to appeal to peoples common sense...ah who am I kidding? xD

This is a problem SE wishes they had had in 1.0.

The servers were pretty much ghost towns for that launch, and it had nothing to do with the login server problems.

My biggest pet peeve of the moment is how everyone is saying this is a "failed launch".

On the contrary! Its perhaps the most successful MMO launch ever!! The only reason there are problems is because of its success.

The servers are rock solid, no bugs, no issues, when I login, I'm fine. 90000 occasionally but even that error is because of the server load.

Wednesday is coming, all will be fixed.

ya...that works until you run into the part that they sold twice as many games to people who have a legal right to expect to be able to play...then they had room for...

go figure, if they planned on 400k players, they should not have sold 1.5 million games...don't insult us with your cheese logic ok? its got holes big enough to fly a 767 through

FFXIV will go down as one of the worst launches I have ever seen since BattleCruiser 3000AD because they took 11 days to respond, Tuesday they are "supposed" to open new servers, so we will see.. You don't leave a million paying customers in the dark for 2 weeks, they should have overnighted a million dollars of hardware to get this fixed before launch date. The result will be reflected in our lack of confidence in SE. This is one of a few left in this gender that is still pay to play. This will hurt, but its anyones guess how much.

The problem is, it really isn't that simple. They offered a free download of the game to anyone who had EVER bought it. Many of these people bought their games in 2009. It was probably extremely difficult to predict the amount of people that would turn out for launch because you have sales figures that spread over 4 YEARS. Also, as other people with tech experience have mentioned at least 43576438754 times- overnighting servers doesn't do jack ****. You can't just plug them in and voila! It doesn't work that way. The real issue isn't server stability for 5000 people, it's the duty finder trying to handle the demands of 230,000 people on all servers trying to queue up for dungeons. But again, we can't expect you to actually read anything that SE has said about this. You're too busy ranting about the injustice of it all. Sad that you can't see exactly how petty you guys sound.

Also, I don't understand why State's request to keep the ******** confined to a single thread or a few threads is such an awful request. Do each one of you special snowflakes really need their own thread to say the same exact thing? Are you all that emotionally traumatized by this experience that you NEED NEED NEED the personalized attention? Give me a break. If you're this upset about a god damn video game maybe you have deeper issues than just waiting a few days to log in. Seriously. Let's try to get some perspective here.

I take it you were an expert skier that second trip down the slopes, huh? By the way, just for the record, it's actual their 3rd launch and no, they still wouldn't or shouldn't be doing the K10. You're just an anomaly.

Naaah, I don't do cultist stuff and I buy into what makes sense, not what the masses say. I could reference a decision from our latest American president, but I'd be breaking some rules.

Again, launch an MMO and tell us that again. Do you know how many people pre-ordered and cancelled just for the EA and free game time? Do you know what the statistics looked like? Are you an industry leading expert having launched a successful AAA MMO? I think not. It's absolutely baffling to me that all of you want to argue with an administrator. I mean, why? What are you getting out of it? What are you getting out of posts that are nothing more than "RAAAWR WE BE MAD MASSES SE FAIL"? Do you have nothing else in your life that is eating at you besides a video game? I mean, I'm more worried about the weather in Phoenix tomorrow than I am whether I can log in to a game.

Like it's been said many many times, it isn't the fact that people are complaining, it's how they're complaining. Name calling, unwarranted comments, claiming to be adult-like but then needlessly bashing others out of turn, making claims of grandeur like they can personally do better when they themselves know that isn't true.

You're all unhappy. We get it.

If you don't like the thread.... then open it. I think the general discussion area on a gaming forum is a good place to vent. People are pissed.... they paid for a game they cannot play. and who the hell needs "official" statistics when you're getting the 1017 error all ****** day.... give me a break fanboy. I was on SE's side during the P4 issues but not allowing people to play a game THEY PAID FOR is assinine.

I'm going to give you some consideration since you appear new'ish here and I haven't run into you before. Do some research and read some other posts I've made, then come back and tell me if I'm a fanboi or not.

EDIT: **** it, nature will take it's course with you and I can ignore you just as easily.

Lead by example then. Start a thread about something else instead of yet another thread complaining about the complaint threads.

You could try not talking back to admins and instead heading his warning... Consequences do tend to follow those that defy them.

People who post threads to complain aren't breaking forum rules. This isn't a case where an Admin is stepping in to do their job. This is a case where an Admin is making a post separate from the duties of his position.

Admins that make posts aren't the same as the Pope sitting on his throne.

You've a very valid point, and I respectfully concede.
