Oh, and there is a FATE near Camp Bronze Lake where a Mamool Ja wants to come in to the camp and look at all the bathing ladies.. the dialogue between the Mamool and the Guard is pretty damn funny..

The guard at the end , something along the lines of "Now back to ...er... making sure the ladies are.. uh.. safe. Yes."

Haha! Yes! And the Mamool Ja says something like "Mamool Ja is man like any other man..." LOL

The following is paraphrased
Mamool: Why I cant use springs. My coin good!
Guard: Because of your... Leering.
Mamool: Mamool eyes have to look somewhere!
Guard: Also your gyrations and pelvic thrusting
Mamool: Is traditional Mamool Bathing Dance!

I will say though, the Fate is misleading. I looked all throughout the Springs and did not see a party of Miqo'te bathing. There was only two I counted total, and they were on either side of the springs, not together.

theres a fate in the kobold stronghold called "Full Metal Alchemist", an obvious reference to the anime that shares the name, it was nice of square to make this reference as they were the ones responsible for publishing FMA at Monthly shonen gangan

plus theres an reference to skyrim in the level 35 BRD quest where the instructor says normally people would think he abandoned the battlefield due to an arrow to the knee.

He's been saying that since 1.0

Now where was that 1.0 xxSephirothxx reference.

No one noticed the "Breaking Bud" reference to Breaking Bad? Or how about "I Just ____ in your Arms Tonight" reference to "I just died in your arms tonight"? I can't remember the ____ that was in FFXIV. :\

There are also awesome Quest names like "Big Trouble in Little Ala Mhigo".

Its called (I just) died in six arms tonight. I was just mining there and cracked up when it started near by because I started humming the song without making the connection right away lol.

It's not just the FATE's, either. Some of the Leve and quest names just leave me laughing, one example being "All Dogs Go to Hell" in Camp Drybone.

Clever Girls and Two Yalms Under are a couple FATEs that stand out in my memory and haven't been mentioned, but I rarely go through a zone without seeing at least one witty allusion somewhere. Quests, leves, and achievements are also (liberally) sprinkled with humorous names. Honestly, I'm not typically big on pop culture in my fantasy games, but I feel like SE localization has done a great job with 14.

Crap, I missed this the first time I read the thread. I just saw that quest yesterday and thought it was awesome. It's corny, but "Big Trouble in Little China" is one of my favorite all time flicks.

You get one guess for the reference in Thaumaturge's level achievement: "Bring Out Your Dead".

If you're 30 or older, you've likely seen the movie.

Someone was /shouting in Gridania for various crafting materials throughout the weekend "Hear ye! Hear ye! I would like to purchase a Cider Vinegar."

My knee-jerk reaction was to parody the /shout with "a shrubbery."

if you go into your chat configuration and play around with the filter settings, in the description box of what the filters do some of them are:

the shadow lord hits you for 9999 damage.
cloud strife starts casting meteor.

thats a pretty cool way to squeze those guys into the game.

There's a leve somewhere called "Ain't Nobody Got Time For Rats."

Also found a FATE during beta called "The Truth is Out There" where you fight a giant hound called Chupacabra.

The only one I can think of off-hand is the "Harder, Bigger, Faster, Stronger" fate. I could have slapped my husband for thinking that song belonged to Kanye.

I actually try to name some of my forum posts in the same way. I love little things like that. Sure, I don't get all of them (maybe not even the majority of them), but when I do it is GLOOOORIOUS!

This was one of my personal favorites.

There's also a low level (a in level 1) levequest in LL by the name of "Ain't nobody got time for rats!"

Bah, beaten by Ralrra.
