Would you take a free server transfer to a new world?Follow

Just wondering...

if SE offered free server transfers to newly created worlds would you take it?
Yes, for sure, in a second:37 (27.8%)
No, never. :19 (14.3%)
If my LS and/or Free Company all decided to move:61 (45.9%)
Not Sure:16 (12.0%)
Total:133

Why or why not?

I'd consider it if I was allowed to go to a server that my friends were on (and if my friends went to said new server) otherwise Durandal has had almost no problems so I don't see the need.

I picked my server based on the Server name that i liked the most. I dont really feel a need to go elsewhere.

Besides, i hope other people instead will leave.

I'm not really tied to a server name so if the whole Kraken Club moved I would move with them
#4REDACTED, Posted: Sep 03 2013 at 5:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yes of course this garbage that SE dug themselves is horrible. I would gladly go to another server to be able to actually play a ******* game I bought.

My LS has already decided to stay put in hopes of others transfering , so I voted no. Most of us already transfered to our current server.

I spent almost a decade on Siren for FFXI, I'm not changing for FFXIV. :-p

I would go if friends go. They probably would go as well.
But the reason we started on Titan...hopefully...pans out with new servers (Did Japan also get a few more servers?) being added.
So ideally the only reason I would suggest it, is if servers are packed during the week evening's (like right now. It is 8:37am over in Japan. Most should be off going/at to work/school?) and we are not able to play.

If every one of my friends did, I would too. But that's a pretty tall order, so I'm pretty sure I'm staying where I am.

Balmung is a RP server, I doubt the RP community is going to pack up and leave. I'm actually looking to transfer more characters into the server.

That said, that alleviates Excalibur a bit.

I originally wanted Cactuar, but I think Goblin is a pretty awesome FF creature. The main reason I'd want to change no matter what, however, is to ease the crowding in my world; too many people becoming too comfortable on a world might not be a good thing. As to choosing between Cactuar or any other world besides Goblin, it'd depend on the names of the servers they add (and how crowded Cactuar is).

I wish I could be on Siren again for FFXIV but it's not a legacy server and friends all wanted to be on Sargatanas with their 1.0 characters. Therefore I didn't have a choice. :(

We still have friends that can't make characters on our server. I expect that if that continues we will have to move to a new server that can accommodate the whole FC.

I dunno... I like Valefor. There's no masses of shouts in the cities, everyone seems friendly, my little refuge of English speakers are all in the FC and we're all really loving the quiet calm that is Valefor.

I'm a little sad I lost out on Ultros due to my work schedule during early access but Midgard has really grown on me. I've been reluctant to join a guild/FC because in the back of my mind I've always considered trying to get back onto Ultros.

But no. I'm not going anywhere. Midgard has become my home and by this weekend I'll make my mind up on a FC and lock myself here forever.

Will have to see what transfer options are actually available. If there's only one 'overflow' server per existing server I might think about not transferring, but if they're a bit shared and I could jump with people from Diabolos...

I'm on a JP/Oceania legacy server and I'm in NA so I would take a free trip out without question.

I would say wait two full weeks and see how the logins are. After that, I am up in the air. If logins are still horrible or queues are too long, then I'll seriously think about it. I'd hate to leave KC, but I haven't really played with anyone from there yet anyway. Only really bump into people around the world. But I would miss the chat...

Maybe they will add an "official" RP server. I started on Selbina, then got merged into Ridill, and restarted on Balmung.

Hopefully, they will bring back Selbina as a RP server.

I picked "if my whole FC decides to move" which really means "no".

Same here. I found out just before EA that two of my friends from FFXI were going to be playing on FFXIV. They have half a dozen friends from work that had already started characters on Leviathan while I was already on Adamantoise. I went through the whole exercise of seeing if my other friends from FFXI that had started on Adamantoise would be willing to restart on Leviathan. But that effort ended when it got to the friends-of-friends point. It really is difficult to convince a large group of people to all move together to a new server unless it's a FC with a clear leader that everyone will follow.

No, but not because I don't want to... because I can't.

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

right now my friends i plan on playing with arent all on the same server as me. So either they come here, or i go there. As long as i'm in the place where my friends are at, i don't care.

But...it has to be a legacy server at the minimum unfortunatley so well see if those are even open for transfer.

I wouldn't. They stopped people from creating new character for a reason, and it was a smart move imo. When the servers go back up with their connection limit raised there wont be any congestion getting in.

Even if my FC leaves I can always find another.

I usually ditch my guild at endgame and find a serious raiding guild anyway.

What is the benefit of being on a "legacy" server? I am on Excalibur, but I would leave if it meant better server performance - and my two closest friends came with me.
