If I remember right 5AM CST but with them adding servers and all the server upgrades for capacity don't be shocked if it gets extended.

I was considering taking bets on whether we'd have an extension or not. I would not be surprised.

Nothing sucks more than hitting the power button and getting crickets.

In all honesty this isn't a simple patch and pray maintenance.

I would be SHOCKED if they don't extend the time the game is down by at least several hours.

Hopefully ill be able to play when I get home around 4pm CST but if what they are doing fixes the only major problem with this game ill gladly take a full day off from playing...god knows I need a breather ive been playing this game like a junkie the last week, it would do me good tbh.

I don't work until 12:30 tomorrow. I am hoping to get a couple quality hours in before I have to leave. Or AT LEAST a chance to login and afk, just in case Smiley: sly

Call me overly optimistic, but as an IT guy - IF they are running virtual servers (and for our sakes I hope they aren't) - it really shouldn't take very long to throw more resources at the servers from the blade server. So I keep hoping they will declare an early finish...

but based on the 10 hour timeframe they probably aren't virtual, and whenever this activity is done I bet we will see some major improvements that will be worth the wait.

If nothing else, at least we know we can't get in and can do something else. Beats spamming the World List for hours...

Not just more blades, they probably had to buy more racks and chassis too. (Chassises? What's the plural of chassis...?)

All servers are down because a lot of the major work is being done on the login and Duty Finder cluster, which is going from supporting 2 groups of DF at once to many more, and being able to support more logins. No more 1017 and 90000, I hope!

Even then, shoulda been able to install those in advance, eh? I think chassis is one of those singular plural words like fish or moose.

But yeah, I didn't know that about Duty Finder. Has to be added complexity there beyond just throwing resources at it. Keeping my fingers crossed this game really starts to hum when they get this ironed out.

The plural of fish is "fishies." Everyone knows that!

For some reason, your comment made me think of this:

Connecting the physical hardware itself isn't the problem, this should already be done. Ingratiating the new hardware so the new topology load balances properly is the difficult part. Otherwise even with more capacity on paper, the servers could actually run worse. I've had to test this outcome during many projects in my career. You think you have everything set up perfectly only to find out there is a bandwidth problem somewhere you least expected it. It could be a faulty wire or a number of routine errors that shouldn't be there.
