Poor PS3 Rendering in massive FATEsFollow

Is anyone else having this problem? I joined some FATEs today in Coerthas Central Highlands, and had such a hard time seeing any enemies thanks to the huge number of players there as well. Hard to get any FATE contribution if you can't even see what everyone else is attacking. Got one shotted by Svara as well because I couldn't see her and the red AOE zone. Anyone else on PS3 having this problem? Or is my lousy internet connection to blame?

I had massive lag tonight, i get out of the red zone in a single person fate, i counted at least 2 seconds and the marlboro's aoe still hit me, lag in my zone too but there where tons of people.

Until the PS4 version comes out and dominates both PS3 and PC versions.

Yeah, it took some getting use to, I now use a USB keyboard. The key is to hit the tab key to cycle thru the mobs. As a arcanist I try to cast bio to get a hit here and there because they drop so quickly. So far it has worked out well, but it is still annoying not being to see anything or the screen is zoomed into the back of the characters head.

Wait u serious PC players don't get that deadly lag...cant say am not a lil jealous.
I haven't hit that high only 35 but I remember I had a laggy FATE in Shroud where things literally took 4-8sec to move and my char gliding across screen...

Yeah it's pretty bad but with keyboard binds to target I do ok. Fast Internet helps.

PS4 will be on par with today's higher end PCs. In a year, PCs will surpass it again.

Actually looked at the specs on the ps4.
Fairly confident it will preform as good as my year old rig. Console specs are always a bit goofy imo. 8 gigs of ddr5...so it uses ddr5 ram, so it will load stuff faster than my rig, slightly. unless that's vram which really only means it will support much larger displays than my rig will, which makes sense playing on a tv vs a monitor.

TFLOPs...didn't know where to check TFLOPS for a over clocked gtx 680.
CPU doesn't look right as its a really slow *** quad core, not sure why a console would use a slow CPU

Either way, ill have access to thousands of games, backward compatibility, and when I upgrade to a better rig down the line I wont have to rebuy my game library.

Some how I get the feeling that right off the bat the PS4 will compete with high end pc's in single player games but still get the shaft when it comes to mmo games, at least graphically.

I play primarily on the PS3 and on occasion on my PC. The resolution is noticably lower and the animations aren't.... 'animating' at full framerate, but that doesn't bother me. I use my PS3 controller on both my PC and my PS3, but when I'm on my PS3, I'm in laze mode on the couch :P The tradeoff is worth it.

I can't believe people look at the specs like this without pointing out the obvious. Optimization is key. It's one of the major advantages of a console. PC games are held back and require much more powerful hardware to compete to offset this advantage.

The CPU and GPU work in tandem and the memory is unified. This setup isn't on typical PC's yet people are comparing these specs to how a normal PC would utilize them. The PS4 doesn't have the resource hog Windows either and all the crap that runs in the background. Again, none of these points are made. On top of all that, the PS4 will use (Gaikai)cloud computing to enhance(stream graphical improvements) the console as it ages. Again, another point left out.

Ahhh.. one last point I wish to add here. SE is terrible, absolutely horrible at programming PC games. I don't care what game they make, all of them were ported horribly. That's another advantage. Considering some of the PC owners who said they nerfed the graphics, I think I know why. It's not the PS3's fault either.

Upgrading to PS4 will be a significant boost for current PS3 players.

@OP: It doesn't help either that the screen resolution is scaled down to 720p or 400p depending.. the PS3 so much more capable of rendering better than that.

It's really not, though. The amount of VMem available is paltry when compared to what it takes to make a modern game engine.

I have yet to have any problem in FATEs on PS3. The occasional slight delay before mobs show up sometimes yes, but never enough to keep me from participating and getting credit. I'm not high level (25) but I am playing since phase 3 and have done a lot of FATEs.

My wife plays on a low end PC and has much more issues with loading and lag.

If you are on PS3 and playing a FATE in Coerthas, Mor Dhona, or Ceruleum Mines, then Blizzard II ftw.

Sometimes I dont even see the chimera. The whole time. With all party and non party PC effects turned off.

I never had a problem with FATEs until Coerthas. People come at 35 and some even stick around till 50. So a lot more players than any of the lower level zones.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. It sucks to run all the way to a FATE and then do nothing but stand around hoping the NM appears on your screen so you can get some contribution in. The worse thing is when he appears for a few sec, and then disappears. Unfortunately I'm a WHM so no AOE. SE should allow us to customize the order stuff appears. Like Mobs > Party members > NPCs > Other players.

Um no, the PS4 while advanced is still behind what an avg new gaming rig can handle.

After an hour of fate grinding today... I am noticing a decent difference in how the enemies load after I opened the appropriate ports on my router. Its not perfect... there is a delay still... but significant enough that you can actually contribute to the Fate... Maybe worth a shot?
