I feel... Discombobulated. Follow

In terms of geography in Erozia. I spent time in the zones, leveling, questing, farming.. but no matter what, I get a feeling of where is this, and where am I?!

I've yet to come across a solid mapped out webpage of Erozia. Or my web search skills are lacking. Oh, and looking at the in game map does nothing.. makes me feel even more lost.

I can't take credit for this at all, as I found this through a past post here.

It's the best maps I have seen for ARR so far and has helped me piece all the lands together in my mind.

Yeah, ever since they just up-and-divided all the maps in little pieces, i just felt like i was playing through tiny stand-alone unrelated zones instead of a world. Especially in La Noscea this is super confusing. Some are just downright impossible and would most likely overlap if you would connect the zonelines.

You exit the city in the south and you arive from the west in Lower La Noscea. You exit the city in the east and you arive in Middle La Noscea. And apparently Lower and Middle are connected through a piece of mining tunnel. But the distances and the orientation just dont match up with each other. You can see the straight bridge path to the city from both zonelines, so it's not like you made a weird bend somewhere or something

Lower La Noscea currently lays in the east, Eastern La Noscea is in the east too. Middle La Noscea is in the south, Western la Noscea feels like its sort of in the middle... Upper La Noscea is in the center of the island too, and then there's Outer La Noscea somewhere up in god knows where.

I've seen the compilation map... and it just... doesnt work. There are towering mountains going for miles, when just one zone up facing the same direction there's the ocean. And i'm to believe they're sort of connected with each other by just a small northbound road? Yeah...

I love the game, i love how they designed the zones, but the geography just doesnt make sense. Same for climate, the sub-tropical forest jungle of gridania turning into snowy ice lands with mountains just a few feet to it's north, while there's a desert just one zone to the south.

I would like to have a map with all the mobs and the areas they are in, I thought I saw one but can not seem to find it. also all gathering stuff.

I think the real problem is all the info from 1.0 is out there and it is hard to tell if the info is new or old.

Come to Ul'dah, where the surrounding areas are one gigantic San Andreas Fault, with a few rivers and some tropical rain forests(during a perma dry season).

i disagree here. Gridania is more forest than tropical jungle first off. Not hard to see it going mountainous and then snowy as you go north. I love how the transition to thanalan's desert is handled as well.

As for the geographic/map qualms, i put that in the category of "I will suspend my disbelief because everything looks and sounds so freakin fantastic"

edit: This is the first MMO in awhile where I truly enjoy just running around with no particular goal. Until I remember one of the million goals i want to accomplish. I need to stop doing that a little and just enjoy the scenery and things.

This is what has thrown me off big time. I don't feel confident in my abilities to get around the game without keeping my map up and clicking on each zone first to make sure I'm going to exit into the right location. I'm sure this will get better with time, but SE sure didn't make it easy. :(

Hate to say it, but they need a more coherent world map. The maps for the zones are just fine, but it would be nice to click on a globe icon that had all the areas laid out.

The current world map is hard to get to and more art than function.

Realistically all the zones are linked in some form, so making such a map with the paths marked and the sub zones labeled would be a huge help, perhaps make it a separate window called world map, rather than using the zone map.

I'd love a GW2 style map system. There is nothing more annoying than clicking the map button on a quest log and being completely screwed for any idea where to go because the Quest NPC isn't in the same area as you - they are now just an icon on the world map.
