Yeah, ever since they just up-and-divided all the maps in little pieces, i just felt like i was playing through tiny stand-alone unrelated zones instead of a world. Especially in La Noscea this is super confusing. Some are just downright impossible and would most likely overlap if you would connect the zonelines.
You exit the city in the south and you arive from the west in Lower La Noscea. You exit the city in the east and you arive in Middle La Noscea. And apparently Lower and Middle are connected through a piece of mining tunnel. But the distances and the orientation just dont match up with each other. You can see the straight bridge path to the city from both zonelines, so it's not like you made a weird bend somewhere or something
Lower La Noscea currently lays in the east, Eastern La Noscea is in the east too. Middle La Noscea is in the south, Western la Noscea feels like its sort of in the middle... Upper La Noscea is in the center of the island too, and then there's Outer La Noscea somewhere up in god knows where.
I've seen the compilation map... and it just... doesnt work. There are towering mountains going for miles, when just one zone up facing the same direction there's the ocean. And i'm to believe they're sort of connected with each other by just a small northbound road? Yeah...
I love the game, i love how they designed the zones, but the geography just doesnt make sense. Same for climate, the sub-tropical forest jungle of gridania turning into snowy ice lands with mountains just a few feet to it's north, while there's a desert just one zone to the south.
