I call the FFXIV races by their FFXI names.. heck I even call the 3 main cities by their FFXI names... Uldah is pretty much Bastok, Gridania Windurst and Limsa is Sandoria lol.. and I look of other things i see in game I call by their FFXI names (including some of the monsters and classes) heck I was even watching my mp for mp drain when I had carby out lol.

By the way is the non instance open world of XIV just consist of the 3 main cities, the black shroud, la noscea and thanalan? surely that cant be right... I highly doubt the open world map is THAt small.. even for a game that just launch.. FFXI is bigger than that even if you take out the zilart areas and just count the vanilla ones. so im just missing stuff right?

I still slip up and say Taru/Mithra often, but Hyur, Elezen, and Roegadyn has stuck. They just sound better. That's all I can think of.

As for the map there's still Coerthas. Ishgard and the regions surrounding it are there too, though they aren't accessible yet.

I feel the cities and their outside areas have switched from their FF11 counterparts.

The outside of Ul'dah, Thanalan reminds me of Sarutabaruta.
Black Shroud reminds me of Ronfaure.
And obviously, Noscea reminds me of Gustaberg.

True to a degree.. Black Shroud is far more tropic than Ronfaure

Noscea actually has grass. It's more similar to the Konschtat Highlands

And Thanalan = Sarutabaruta/Tahrongi Canyon

All Roegadyn are still Galkas, because I can never remember how to spell Roegadyn correctly without having to stop and think.

Lalafell = Teletubby tripping on the stairs.

Tarutaru admittedly wasn't much better, but at least it avoided (even unintentional) pop culture references.

Mithra, Tarutaru, Galka, Elvaan.

Guilty on all of them. It's only that Hyur is apparently such an improvement over Hume that i kept that in :/ But yeah... What kind of a name is Miquote anyhow?

I said "voke" the other day, I guess back then voke was our main way to build hate.. and we always said hate not aggro right? There was pulling.. and building hate, keeping hate.

Other PLD was confused

None here. I adapted pretty well. I have a major issue with the spelling of the names though..

Hate and Aggro were two different things. If a mob detected you and attacked, you had aggro, though you don't have any hate on the mob until you act against it. If you smack a crawler in Sarutabaruta, you have hate with the mob, though it never aggroed you.

I've been out of FFXI for 6 years, so its not really a problem for me, but I do notice the similarities.
