with this games gameplay mechanics is it possible to see any of the drama we seen in xi and other mmos? i.e drop stealing, ninja looting, mob stealing etc etc? i think drama is a normal part of an mmo but this one doesnt seem to have the "tools" necessary to make drama a possibility, am i wrong?

also anyone think xiv will get popular enough to have podcasts? i used to love listening to limit break radio for xi and hearing player interviews.

lastly one complaint ppl make about xi is how it took forever to fid a pt and no one ha that kinda time anymore but xi s fast paced/casual approach fixes that. My question is how is sitting in a duty fider queue for an hour or longer if youre not a tank or healer any different than waitig for a pt all day in xi?

Quick answer for the duty finder question, you can que as one class/job and switch to another job and do something else while you wait for it to pop. Now far as I can remember in XI you would flag for a party or shout, now if you flagged as say a Samurai you couldn't exactly switch to to a different class and still expect to be invited as a Sam, sure you could gather and whatnot but there was some situations where being a certain class would be more a hindrance than a benefit. So its sort of similar and not at the same time. All in all there's nothing stopping someone from forming a party of their own for the dungeon unless the quest you need specifically says duty finder, I mean this is a social setting, make some connections and befriend a few tanks or healers. It will only benefit you in the long run.

How long are your days? Smiley: dubious

XIV already has regular shows. I know that Gamebreaker has two.. I'm sure there are others.

As to drama. WoW has drama. XIV has the same tools WoW does more or less. Drama is created by players. Drama has predated advanced tools for thousands of years.

Wait....you think wow doesnt have drama? What kind of fantasy land are you living in? There's all types of drama....guilds, raids, dungeons, LFR (looking for raid/raid finder), pvp, official wow forums drama. There is drama in literally every part of that game.

There will Always be drama in any MMO as long as it has players.
What I have seen so far is some ninja looting in PUG Groups in dungeons.
Kill steals dont really exist the same way as in XI, here you more or less help each other instead.

There are some already. I use to listen to ArrPod (www.arrpod.com)

Its not to bad. I would prefer getting a Group within say 10 minutes since I do not dare take a break if I am in DF in case it would pop and I am AFK.
Usually I do lots of stuff during those Waits. Quests, Mining, Crafting etc

...and usually I play together with my GF that plays a healer. Then its just create a Group with us two, sign up for a dungeon and poof off we go

Its the same type of drama... *He got loot and I didnt, crycrycry*; *The treasurer ran off with all the guild's gold and mats*; *Why is the tank pulling so slowly/why can't the healer keep up with mana/why is our dps so crappy? (with arguing and blame starting from there)*; and my favorite is when someone gears up completely with the guild/ls and leaves said LS/Guild for one they feel is "more hardcore", when in reality, is really only as capable as the one they were already in. After playing quite a few MMOs I've found that drama is pretty much the same in any MMO, only the terms and names change really.

Drama?
The description you give isn't drama, that's called grief. Square enix can prevent neither drama or griefing, because it's the people who create that not some tools.

The difference between XI and XIV is you do not have to have a party to do everything and make good progress. And you can but you don't have to shout for anything. With all that time you save shouting, you can be doing something productive. If shouting and socializing is productive to you, you can do that too.

Id consider 99% of that whining the only one id call drama is "*The treasurer ran off with all the guild's gold and mats*"
