More of an exp bonus to other classes at 50 vs 30?Follow

#1 Sep 18 2013 at 12:35 PM Rating: Decent
I have a 30 main right now and i get 50% bonus on alternate classes. Will this xp amount be higher when I reach 50 or is this about it? Thanks!

That is it. You get the armory bonus on any job that isnt your max level job (for DoW/DoM) not sure it does anything for DoH/DoL sadly.

The way the bonus works is that it has a max of 50% increase and declines the closer you get to the max leveled job you have (level 30 in your case). Obviously if you have a level 50 job you will receive a larger bonus through most of the leveling experience, likely declining when you start getting closer to 50. I don't know the exact algorithm so I can't tell you what level you would start to see a decrease from the 50% for either level 30 or 50 "main" classes. I would be curious if anyone in the community has started to record this data to help figure out what the bonus formula looks like. This is all for DoW/DoM classes, like previously posted .

For DoL/DoH I'm not sure if an Armory bonus exists, but if it does I would guess it's tied to other DoL/DoH jobs and not any of the DoW/DoM jobs. Can anyone confirm this?

In other words, it is more beneficial to focus on leveling up one class to 50 (with the required sub to 15) and then focus on all the other classes, than it is to take all the classes up to 15 before climbing one to 50.

Very true, and what I would also recommend. However, I think you could attain the same efficiency by leveling one to say 30 (level may need to be higher) and then pushing all subs to 15 as you would still probably get the 50% bonus from 1-15. Not arguing with you in the slightest, just saying there would be other ways to achieve the same results.

Good point. And you can probably get to 30 without having to worry too much about gear other than "it's roughly the right level" so you can hold off too much crafting and big spending til thirty as well.

Another tip I've gleaned is that you should always get your explorer bonus on your highest level job, since you get the most bang for your buck. I took my 42 THM on my legacy account out for a spin in Mor Dhorna and Coerthas and got to level 43 without even leaving my chocobo. Smiley: laugh I was getting 1800ish for each new area at 43.

What I have noticed, I have a 15 mar and cnj and my highest job at the moment is a 38 drg. But I have been leveling pld too and it's 36. When ever I'm on my pld I'm still getting about a 50% exp increase even at times when it's only one level below my main.

Certainly interesting, are their other effects at play though do you know? Such as rested xp bonus or food buffs, etc.?

If the gap is really that small I definitely won't complain about it haha.

Silly question here, since I don't really level anything else than my main so far. Is the bonus to other classes automatic or something you have to unlock by a side-quest somewhere? On my main class, I pretty much only do the main story + random fates and some dungeons and that's more than enough to keep me going without any side-quests so I tend to miss a lot of content just because I'm keeping those quests for my future classes (I missed the chocobo companion, the first two optional dungeons, the unicorn mount quests).

Well the effect says it scales, however, everyone on reddit says that it doesnt and its a flat 50% as long as you are 1 level lower than your max job. Which is why my first post probably didn't get rated up, but worthless posts after it with no new information/incorrect information got excellent ;-p, because most arent aware that it is just 50%.

Proly just a flat rate. I was doing fates switching back and forth and on average my drg was getting about 5k less then my pld. And for boss fates I was getting well over 10k less.

I believe FATEs are a whole other beast entirely, the contribution awarded at the end scales upon how close you are to the actual level of the FATE. I know I've seen a difference in my Main while doing the same FATEs at different level intervals.

Just a response to this, it may currently be that it is a Flat 50% bonus in testing/actuality. However, even the in-game help says that it scales based on the level difference. It may be a bug, it may have changed after the in-game text was added and that never updated.

I personally haven't tested the bonus thoroughly myself and going off the assumption of what SE has said.

Well if there is anything i have learned from SE....dont trust tool tips/spell descriptions/quest descriptions cause a lot of times things dont line up.

See smn/sch relic weapons, steady hand %, monk skills etc. It wont be the only thing in the game that says one thing and does another.

The only thing is that for the fates my drg is level appropriate while my pld is not, so on the sliding scales of the fate my drg should get more exp but I believe the bonus is what pumps my drg up so much
