Godspeed everyone! Follow

#27REDACTED, Posted: Sep 25 2013 at 9:33 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I don't know what to tell you. All I can say is that when you first installed this game, you see the T&A before you click that "start" button. If you come into my shop and break the rules then are not welcomed anymore. What are we kids? Rules are rules and they are put in place for a reason. Bots, gil seller/buying all are a direct violation of T&A. I have a good feeling SE don't like cheaters. If they do, they might as make this game FtP.

Did I install the wrong game? Smiley: dubious

I don't think T&A means what you think it means.

Also, go away.

And then it'll be nothing but T&A as far as the eye can see.

I can honestly believe the OP never cheated. Why? Because someone tried to do the same to my account, but thankfully had the token. I did have to reset my password because of it. Only website even remotely pertaining to this game that I go to are zam, official site, and XIVDB. Want my history to prove it? Want my process list and registry list to prove I am not running any bots or other third party software? Sorry anthony, you are an ***.

Where is his counterpart, so we can get the most out of the T&A?

I personally find the T to be more appealing than the A, but to each his own.

Sorry to see you go.

The funny thing is that most people think the authenticator is a waste of time (or money) until something like this happens. Is usually the people working on IT that are actually the first to use the authenticators in the first place because we know there's no such thing as 100% PC security, even the authenticator is not 100%.

I'm sad to see you go for a reason like that. SE really dropped the ball on that one. How many good people are we going to lose like that?

And to the annoying little idiots who fancy themselves security experts because they've been lucky so far, please note that there are many ways to end up with a compromised account through no fault of your own. Here's a few:

• SE has a security flaw somewhere (unthinkable, right?) that allows those who found it to access any account
• Ads on a respectable website such as this one exploit a browser vulnerability to install malware (say, TOR's Firefox? inconceivable, right?)
• You used the same strong password on some obscure website a decade ago and forgot about it. It got hacked. You're screwed.

I'm sure there are many more examples, hopefully you get the point. The authenticator helps, of course. But it's far from being foolproof. That one-time password thing to remove it? You know what? It could be intercepted or extracted from the account management website by some backdoor no one knows about. Then the authenticator is gone, and there's nothing you could have done to prevent it.

So how about we give people the benefit of the doubt before calling them gil buyers, huh?

More people would probably pay attention to it if it were T&A.

That's a tenet of advertising philosophy, anyway.

Not sure if the dry folks up in legal-land would see it that way.

This is truly an unacceptable stance from a modern company. I know I've made comments before about the responsibility of the user in these situations, but even given that, a company still has a responsibility to it's consumer!

The account was compromised. The owner has tried to petition for either information or correction and just seems to be denied at every stop, by a company that should be supporting both these inquiries and actions. This is just another horror story regarding the extremely lacking support SE is delivering to its base. Although it's hard to say they got the formula wrong... people are still throwing money at them regardless of the support they receive. Saving money and earning it all in one go. It's a sad state of affairs, but until there is some upheaval at the consumer level with bottom lines being severely impacting I'm not so sure it will change.

Truly sorry to hear of your circumstances, and hope you can find enjoyment elsewhere.

I have to wonder if they treat their japanese customers the same way. If you look on the official forums it appears their bug reports are handled more swiftly than the NA reports, although I admit it may just be appearing that way due to the larger EU/NA userbase. It wouldnt surprise me of there was truth to it.

I would not doubt it. Since all the issues have to ultimately be handled by the Japanese dev team, the NA/EU complaints and reports have to be translated over first, which slows the entire process down considerably. JP bug reports don't require that intermediate step,
