In patch 2.1 we will be making a few adjustments to pet hotbars and abilities, starting with being able to hide the pet hotbar for mouse and keyboard users and addressing the use of pet actions for macros.
We're looking into various adjustments, but did want to clarify that we have no plans to implement a gambit style system for pets

This is the first mmo where pets don't seem to be an issue. There are no problems with pathing or control, which is great. Just set them and forget them, or get all hardcore and control their actions yourself. I mean, you do have a choice.

At the very least if you're going to use the "fire and forget" method... hit the Obey command so Carbuncle isn't launching dudes into orbit.

I can't tell you how frustrating it is as a melee or as a tank chasing down a mob that's going after a healer, only to have it catapulted back in the other direction (and then run right back to the healer of course, because nobody else could generate any threat on it).

There are huge pathing and targeting issues with pets.

Eos and Selene have trouble when elevated above the rest of the party.

Currently, Selene will not cast Fey Light unless told to do so.

Pets will not return to the position that you designate to them if they are knocked back.

If you put Selene or Eos on Obey and then command them to heal a target, they then use all their abilities that are off cooldown. While this is technically working as intended, it shouldn't be how it actually is. If you use Obey, Obey should stick. For instance: if you use Selene's Fey Light when she has Fey Glow off cooldown and is on Obey, she will cast Fey Glow and overwrite Fey Light immediately.

Selene will cast Silent Dawn when not on Obey. Considering this is a 1 second silence and seeing as how she likes to cast it on mobs that aren't necessarily casting anything at the time, there needs to be a ton of control added to this ability. IMHO, 100% user control: if you don't use it, you don't use it because randomly silencing a mob isn't helping.

If a spell is cast on Selene from a long range, she will actively seek out the target and attempt to use Silent Dusk on them. Any scholar who has done AK's top level has probably experienced this.

And this is just from a SCH's point of view. I can't imagine how SMN is. It's not terrible but it certainly isn't bug-free.

On top of which faeries don't spam their heals as quickly as they could.(There's a good one to two second delay on decision making. Most of the time that doesn't matter but it does on bosses when your starting to burn mp fast.)
