Seriously squenix is so stupid to make this a Fate, history proof that highly popular Fate such as Odin & Behemoth become clusterf**k with too many people (mostly occur on high populated server/realm).

Model disappearing, lag, & crash >.> .......... and it's not even a weekend yet......

Most of people just end up spamming blizzard 2 and flash, could not even see lightning in the midst of chaos

Anyway I'm highly dissapointed with this event.

Back in the old days, we'd form lines to participate in poorly designed events!

That's almost enough to pop my sig quote cherry. Good stuff!

Well this ps3er is about to log in and give it a try. Wish me luck.

Did this thread somehow found its way here from the hellhole that is the official forums?

I think that I might have a screenshot of the NPC quest line for the skeleton back in the day....

the line to enter the shadowlord BCNM in the past once you had all the regions in your area under control was insane. the line went from the entrance of the fight to the exit of the throne room. 1 party of 6 could enter at a time. on my day off i waited 7 hours (while writing my business paper) just to go in there and not get what we wanted. good times.

Fiat Lux. And now you can't ever do that fight because no one will ever have all the regions in the past ever again. Smiley: crymore

I haven't noticed an issue with the FATEs... Some people said they didn't see her when she popped, but I think they were expecting someone huge or something. It's not like she's easy to spot running around like sized adventurers.

I did mine as the event launched. Probably a few hundred people trying to do it all at once. It sucked, as all overcrowded FATEs do, and I didn't even see her during the fight. But overall, this is typical of a new content rush. In a few days you'll probably be lucky to see much more than normal at those FATEs as Phase 2 and beyond kicks off.

Yeah, I'm just going to wait and do it later... I've got plenty of time, and I have no desire to participate in overpopulated FATEs.

I remember waiting in-line at the early level hut in Gelsba outpost. Can't remember what it was we were trying to fight but, I seriously was blown away that in-game people could be so civil. I kinda freaked me out a bit lol.

Shouldn't have been a FATE. Dungeon cut scenes would have felt more epic. But I'm happy I procured my lance that I'll never use. Still, I'll be in line for the next installments.

well, the FATEs fit what's going on for Lightning anyway. I would like to think that episode 4 will conclude with a CS of some sort. It would be just silly not to have one.

Probably the NPC adventurer quest. There was a similar line in necrop for the initial fight.

I remember the skeleton line for the adventurer fellow too. Even though you had to wait, it was pretty cool to see everyone lined up and respecting each other.

But yeah I agree that they need to do something to fix Odin/Behemoth and now Lightning. Even when finally did get Odin targeted I couldnt see him through all the people and the amount of AOE effects were ridiculous. Plus the insane lag.

Lol, I remember seeing new-ish players in serious 'panic mode' showing up to do the "Save the Children" quest… I know a few peeps who would mess with them a bit then say that they can enter lol.

What is this? You stand in a crowd of a hundred people ,you wait for fate to pop hit maybe 3 mobs she comes out say the same thing in both spots. Do you keep doing this till something drops to take back to the quest giver? I did these for an hour 3 times each before I stopped, 6 if you count the fates without her.I had to craft to keep awake it was so boring. What ends this quest?....Nevermind I went back with my archer and he range killed everything in sight and got a package...my arcanist has no chance of getting the kills he did till it calms down.

Chapter 1:

The Fate itself is every 15 mins, but Lightning needs to appear to get credits. She will only appear every 2 fates, so that's a 30 mins wait time from each fight. If Lightning appear during current fate, she will not appear in the next one, and will only appear again after. You only need to get Silver or Gold to get the needed parcels. Each will net you 2 parcel, and you will need a total of 9 parcels to get all weapons + chapter completion.

Chapter 2:

Another Fate battle. Unlike chapter 1, this is a special event Fate against FF13 Behemoth/Armored Beast. It's a boss type fate, so only 1 target. Timer is every 30 mins. To me, this is a little bit easier to get credits for. The behemoth is also quite thick, and last quite a while.

Server was actually giving me 9000 dc errors every time she popped the other day which is just ridiculous - especially putting it in one of the fate zones generally used for EXP grinding fates so that people basically can't get through that level stretch easily (note the use of that word before the pedants arrive pointing out other areas - it's where you can zone in, shout, get a pt and get going fast normally) till the initial rush is over.

For once I'm grateful my playtime doesn't clash with NA primetime. Usually it's a problem getting groups for stuff as no one is on, but during FATEs I can actually see what is going on and get a claim XD

They could and probably will do much better dynamic events in the future. It's a cool system that I hope they exploit fully because as of now it's mind numbing....

Right now the Chapter I and Chapter II FATES are empty. I did chapter one last night and there were three other people on Gertrude with me.
