2.1 has been out a week and I already see i80+, experience only shouts going on. The elites of this game expect everyone to be an expert at all the new content after a week.
It's best if everyone can see it from both sides. The players that have put in the most time know that the majority of players are new to the content. Therefore, if they use tools like the Duty FInder to group with the general population, they should expect to sometimes be grouped with first-timers and also players that just aren't that great. If you want to avoid that, the new Party Finder is the tool for you. Therefore, shouts for ilvl80+ groups are completely acceptable.
On the other side, players running something like Pharos for the first time should realize that some people have already ran the dungeon 30 times. 30 times is a lot. It's enough times to have already been nice and patient with 10 newbie teams, suffered through 5 or more 90 minute runs that ultimately fail, and also to have gone through flawlessly with others groups (and every possible combination between those extremes). After you have seen 10+ fail runs, you want to avoid that and you just start wanting to drop those runs and go craft or something and try for another party in 30 minutes.
It's ok, really, the DF is gonna fill the spot in just a minute. They can drop. You get someone with more patience. It's not a big deal.
Players running for the first time just don't understand it's not personal. No one wants to feel they are being considered not good enough without even being given a chance
. And yet, after you run that dungeon 49 more times you may feel you have earned the right to drop parties if you want to.
The only thing that I find inexcusable is players who start telling new players how horrible they are but offer no suggestions or advice. They just rant and then leave. I feel it is useless simply make a new player have a negative experience.
This game thrives when experienced players share their knowledge with newer players. Those runs are awesome, and there is a ton of potential for that awesomeness with the new content available.
