That's a good point! With the vanity system in place people will be looking at all available gear in a variety of colors to meet their personal style preference.. For one, I am going to want a Vanya Hat and Robe for myself, where I never felt the need to buy them before. They sure do look cool.

Personally, I think we will be seeing a lot more of the Zantetsuken, Behemoth Helmet, and the Lightning gear and weapons after vanity rolls out.

Maybe this will payoff for all the time I spent melding out each AF ><

I saved a ton of money swtiching to Dodore/Patrician's for all my crafting and car and home insurance needs. Thanks Hairspray!

I think i only spent about 100k on a few craftsmanship over melds. Otherwise I made it all on my own including the materia

Beta testing is set to begin alongside the Japanese release of the PlayStation®4 on February 22, with the game's official release date scheduled for April 14, 2014—a fitting date for the fourteenth title of the FINAL FANTASY series. Anyone who owns a PlayStation®4 is eligible to participate, and we highly encourage all of you to try it out and share your feedback with us.

First, we are currently looking into making it so that changing jobs in housing areas will not place your actions on cooldown. Once we decide on the implementation timing we will be sure to let you all know!

Also, as you may know, there is currently no system in place to allow you to upgrade your land plot, which means it wouldn't be possible to carry over your furnishings were you able to upgrade from a small plot to a medium one. However! We are looking into implementing a moving feature, which will allow you to bring everything to your new home.

We are still in the planning phase of this system, but once there are developments we will be sure to let you know.

Chimera and hydra added to duty finder. Let's call it... Progressive wowification. Nothing like having players in an Mmorpg actually have to leave town to meet up with other players or god forbid not magically teleport to a dungeon.

For all the kids that grew up on this stuff (assuming they want to use that as their excuse $$$$) they could Atleast find a happy medium. Duty finder for ..... Duties? And go out and actually travel TO a dungeon or form your own party.

Ever closer to shutting down the party finder, anything requiring more than one you can just queue up and poof. Almost like your very own console mmo (with a chat room built in of course)

Fwiw I was pleasantly surprised with the level of tuning relative to the competition but from what I hear the kids have gotten to that too and come 2.2 they will start dumbing stuff down.

Ironic, in everquest, even 5 xpacs and 3 level cap increases later you still needed quite a few people to handle encounters.

I digress. By now we should be used to it. Only a little while longer for Pantheon and we (the purists and Mmorpg fans/vets) will have our salvation!

I'm not normally negative but this patch seems very minor overall...this game is crying out for more diverse content not more dungeons and primal fights

Are you really complaining about this? As it is all you're doing is "magically teleporting" to Coerthas/Drybone anyway to get warped inside. This just cuts out the middleman.

There was no reason whatsoever for them to not be in the DF to begin with. Coil should be added there too.

Yeah really.

I'm glad. I need my relic for BRD and although there's a couple Hydra groups a day in PF I'd rather DF that, especially if I can get it done in a night with no fuss and no needless waiting.

These patches look good but I'll be playing the PS4 beta, for most of the weekend. Maybe I'll sneak a Hydra run in there though.

This is a zero point release - the tock of minor patches in a standard tick-tock release cycle. Of course there isn't a lot of content in it.

Oh right! The Party Finder Refresh button is coming.

Can't wait for the official 2.16 patch notes. Hopefully will have some surprise goodness even if it's not actual new content.

well if you read whats quotes he says "this game needs more diverse content not more dungeons and primal fights" so while this patch is just a minor one even in our MAJOR patches (2.1 and the upcoming 2.2) were getting mainly more dungeons and primal fights... so his comments about lack of diversity imo still stands... sure they add quests too but considering we have a million of em and they range from doing the same few things in each one.. adding more quests =/= diversity as far as endgame diverse content goes we have:

dungeons
primal fights
Coil
Crystal Tower

and now aside from the gold saucer and player housing (neither of which would be classified as endgame content), there is no NEW content just extensions to current ones... i,e more floors in coil, new areas in Crystal tower, hard and extreme mobs of existing avatars and or a brand new avatar.... new content imho would be the next brand new battle system/or battleground... after all their OTHER mmo got actually NEW content about every 6 months cant wait til XIV follows suit but im not expecting it since this is a "WoW clone" and from what Im old rehashing old content is pretty much what WoW does... infact just making more parts to the same content or making the same content more difficult with each update is the norm for mmos today... so apparent giving ppl brand new and diverse content is old and archaic lol

Well, patch notes are up.

Best is the refresh button for PF. Summoning a random mount is a cool feature.

Worst is now macros have a stupid little Icon. That stupid icon is going to be displayed all over my hoitbars. *sigh*

Your definition of "new content" is odd.

I guess it's all in the name and the gimmicks. If the bosses are different, the mechanics are different and the environments are different to you it is still "an extension/rehash of old content" even though it only shares the basic template at best...actual gameplay, audiovisuals and story parts of it being completely new.

There's no little gimmicks like in that OTHER mmo but to say those gimmicks are what separates "rehashed content" from "new content" is completely silly.

The syntax is <wait.#>, per the Japanese patch notes. Lost in coding! Tack it on after the action syntax as normal; ie /ac Swiftcast <wait.1>

Mostly bugfixes and quality of life stuff. Kat is right, when versions are updated they work like this

X.YZ

X = Major rewrite
Y = Significant Update
Z = Minor Update

When the game was entirely redone, it went from 1 to 2.00. The 2 is in the X slot, indicating Major rewrite
When the big patch with the Thronmarch, Hildebrand, Ultima HM, housing, extreme primals, pvp and all that was added, it went to 2.1. Notice the 1 is in the Y slot indicating Significant Update
When this minor update was added, it goes to 2.16. 6 is in the Z slot, so it = minor update.

With that said, I do like the free company profile feature, the new recruitment status and abilty to submit applications to FC.
In addition I love the "Party Ready" feature and the waypoints. As tank I see me using these a lot.

Funny enough, I'm actually most looking forward to getting "wet" when we're in the rain. As it is, I can't stand being in an open area when it's pouring out and try to duck into shelter, and I feel the urge to get indoors ASAP whenever I am in Coerthas - or to put on some long sleeved clothes if that's not an option. (Seriously, you should take ice damage over time if you're out there in short sleeves.)

First off its not about new content its about DIVERSE new content. Since my definition of DIVERSE new content is odd.. Ill clarify... what I consider DIVERSE new content would be like:

Pankration
Limbus
Dynamis
Salvage
Assault
Besieged
Einherjar
Voidwatch
Abyssea

etc etc

What i would NOT consider DIVERSE new content is:

New dynamis areas
new floors/wings unlcoked in Einherjar
new animals to catch for Pankration
new Assaults added

stuff like that. With FFXIV we seem to be getting more of the stuff id NOT consider DIVERSE new content" than the stuff I would consider DIVERSE new content.

that clear things up for you?
