one of the bugs fixed was:

An issue wherein the effects of Absolute Bind persisted after the battle with Mumuepo the Beholden and Narasimha during the trial Halatali (Hard).

That must have been hella funny to everyone except the poor player stuck with it XD.

Countermeasures to prevent exploits in the Second Coil of Bahamut have been implemented.

Now maybe some of those guys screaming "SE should FIX IT instead of just banning people!" will calm down now.

Looks like they were indeed trying to find a fix while they banned the cheaters, eh?

As a developer, this makes me more mad (and I've never even run T1, I will now that you can solo DF it).
We too have mistakenly had defects reach production. When we're made aware of them, as SE was in this instance, we work with the customer to get around it until the next release. We proactively inform the customers about the issue, provide regular updates, and offer advise.
We don't punish customers because of our errors, let alone send threatening notifications on some forum link that no more than 15% of the population visit regularly.

What should they have done then? A BIG FAT ALL UPPERCASE NOTICE when entering this instance about the problems here, and offer advice on how to work with SE until they can correct the issue.

It's in the terms of service, there is is also precedent in this history of this game that such bugs are to be avoided as well as the blatant hacks that were used to clear the boss unfairly.

There is absolutely no way any cheater can claim innocence over what they did, so there's no point defending them. Again, instituting this method was a clear violation and those that used it knew what they were doing.

Anyways. I don't believe adjustments to Coil are going to have an impact on the majority of players who can't clear coil 4 or 5. My FC will be putting that to the test this week, however.

As soon as they discovered it and verified it, they did. The folks that were banned in this case weren't just taking advantage of an exploit, they were using a POS hack tool.

Despite all of the "advise" you give people, you'll always find those few asshats who will try to find loopholes so that they can sue you over, despite any notices.

Kinda the same thing going on in here, SE *did* tell everybody with a giant notice before logging on saying "we don't tolerate cheating, please stop doing it" (pp). The exploits/hacks being used in-game were very obvious. This isn't a case of a defective product that could potentially harm someone, this is more of a case of people taking advantage of loopholes and/or downright cheating just because it is possible.

There's a pretty big difference between a defective product that might backfire on someone and a loophole allowing people to cheat. The former doesn't benefit anybody, the latter allows people to cheat the system. You just can't compare the two.

This was primarily a bug fix release. Maybe 2.22 might add some more stuff, but I only know less than a handful of people who have all 12 atma, and none of them have finished all the books yet.

They do want to give people enough time to finish the content they've already released before piling more stuff on them, after all.

logically that makes perfect sense but SE did say they didnt expect very many ppl to be done before the next upgrades came out sooooo, clearly they dont mind piling stuff on top of people lol

I have a feeling that patch 2.21 wasn't originally going to be these bug fixes. SE was probably planning on adding relic stuff in there and it was probably going to come out a few weeks from now. However, they must have noticed these issues and wanted to get them fixed before they were ready to send out the original 2.21 patch. So we got this and I bet in a few weeks we'll see 2.22 containing the relic stuff. Just a guess, mind you.

Patch 2.21 contained the Bahamut's Coil changes that were scheduled to be implemented two weeks from 2.2's release already back in March. So with that said the patch pretty much included what SE originally intended to include and nothing is off.

However this is the first time we have ever heard of a patch called 2.21 (it wasn't specified back when the Coil changes were mentioned). That said SE has never said that the relic/zodiac quest progression paths would continue in patch 2.21. They did mention that the quest will continue in patch 2.25 and then in 2.3. Patch 2.25 is a larger update in-between 2.2 and 2.3 while the rest of the 2.2x patches are probably only going to include the coil changes and other very minor adjustments (another change to the coil is scheduled two weeks from now).

Relic/Zodiac stuff will come in patch 2.25 as has been mentioned several times.

You should probably check your sources.

BTW, if anyone is curious: I DF'd turn 4 today a few times to get a feel and wow that echo buff is strong. I think 8 out of 9 groups succeeded.

Turn 5 is still a little bit challenging but the DPS checks can be met much easier now.

Is that so? I never imagined a 10% boost being that big of a deal. Perhaps I'll give DF a go...I still haven't cleared T4 and never even attempted T5.

Ya, the buffs are quite significant. Ran a few coil turns and no one was every in real danger of dying from anything. People should start clearing T5 a little more frequently now.
