So earlier, on a whim, I decided to try Duty Finder with my CNJ.

Turns out my saving all the dungeon drops and sticking them on my retainer paid off! I was able to start with 4 pieces of Plundered gear at Lv15, and I easily HQ'd the rest of the items.

DF'd up and got Tam-Tara which went by OK, no Deaths, a couple sticky moments due to an overzealous archer.

My main questions have to do with targeting -- I can click on the group members in the group window for targeting, but that forces my left hand to use WASD; I have A and D bound to Strafe Left/Right instead of Turn Left/Right (I use Arrow Keys primarily for movement, and the finger that runs the Tab/number keys will zip to A/D when I need to dodge an AoE).

I assume F keys are bound to target group member, but my keyboard has the F keys a bit too far away from the number keys (there's a good quarter-inch space between the number row and the F# row) for my fingers to reliably reach.

Do {stpc} macros work in a similar way in FFXIV? Maybe I could do something like /ma Cure <stpc> and use Tab? That sounds somewhat slow too, though.

How do you guys do it?

i just target them by pressing up or down to scroll through the list of names (as opposed to scrolling through or clicking on the characters themselves)

I turned my keyboard into FFXI style, so I'm not sure how much help I'll be. I kept the F1-F4 for cure binds, but swapped my WASD for the number pads and changed the camera controls to the four arrow keys, so my right hand controls running and my thumb controls the camera. This frees up my left hand for both targeting and macros.

I also dragged my party list to the lower right hand side, and my alliance party members to just above that. In 8 man parties and the 24-man Crystal Tower, I use the mouse to target more.

The macros you will use the most as a conjurer are esuna, cure, cure II, medica, and eventually stoneskin and regen. I re-mapped those to numbers 1-6 on the body of the keyboard.
