Honestly I think SE set themselves up a little to get some dissapointed people when they decided to mention beforehand that they will be releasing a dagger class and a gun class. The reason is that when they say that AND are close to E3 where they announced the Arcanist class, people start having (mauye unrealistic) expectations that often seem to go beyond what might be good.
For example, if they all of a sudden announced BAM rogue/nin people would still gumble I am sure, but I do think there would be less grumbling because they had not been expecting the THF announcement now. Although I might be wrong on that I do believe it is even more so when it comes to expectations of what is going to be announced. For example, since they had previously said they are going to release a dagger and a gun class people start thinking well E3 is the place, sweet. Also at least I started thinking that since Arcanist has two jobs attached to it, the coming classes would too. So I end up hoping (in a way expecting) two classes and four jobs announced. When in the end they announce rogue/nin instead of me going "awesome" I end up looking for more and being a bit dissapointed when nothing more is coming. For me at least this could have been easily avoided if they had just not gone out earlier and said "dagger/gun class sooner than you think".
Maybe it is just me but these announcements of announcements and reveals hinting of more info is just making me dissapointed when really it should have just been great news. Another job, and it being NIN is so cool! Yes, I should have learned by now, and yes I probably always have too high expectiations, I know its my own fault, but still I can not help it lol.
For those wondering I was hoping for a two class/four job announcement of which a new healer would be one. The reason is mainly that a new healer job I would like or blue mage is something that might actually make me want to give ARR a shot again in conjunction with the addition of Gold Saucer and such. I think most people can relate to how important having a job you enjoy is to any game and I was just hoping and almost actually expecting this might be it, now again I realize I might have just had too high expectations, but I do still feel a little like SE made it easy for me to get there so to speak.
Reading what I have just written I feel like what I wanted to do was complain somewhat that SE unnecessarily set people up to feel dissapointed a lot of the time, but in the end I guess I just showed more that I set myself up for dissapointment regardless of SE. I do not usually feel the same way in other games, but that probably has more to with the fact that I am a FF fan and just want more in ff games.
