Hiya,

I ive got some questions about this game, appreciate all answers!

Classes & Jobs

I got confused regarding the jobs and classes in this game, so lets start step by step :]

If i understand this correctly http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Jobs

For example.
If i want to become a Dragoon, i first have to unlock it.
And by doing so, i have to pick Lancer as my primary class and become Lv30, and then Lv15 as Marauder.

And i see that Pugilist is also a tertiary class, whatever that means.

And so i'll also have the choice of switching between "Dragoon/Lancer/Marauder/Pugilist" as i wish, correct?

So heres my first question, i cant switch to other classes than those above, if i picked Lancer as primary right? I couldnt transform into a Conjurer or Summoner, Thaumaturge, Monk etc?

Im only bound to Dragoon as my only job, if i go with Lancer as primary, and Mara/Gug as sub classes, correct?!

I asked somthing familiar back in 2013, but i think i misunderstood most of it, mixing classes and jobs <.<

But just correct me if im right, or explain it to me, if im wrong.

I hope im right tho, i couldnt possibly enjoy being able to choose all jobs & classes on same character >.<

Clearly the site explains thats not the case.
The job has all the abilities and traits of the primary class and all the cross-class abilities of secondary and tertiary classes.

Achievements

I recently tried Wildstar, and there were some one-chance achievements, which means you only had 1 try to complete to obtain, and if you failed, its permanently gone.

And i remember Tera online, they had some that were from tournaments from 2012/2013 etc, too late for newer players.. (sigh)

Is there anything familiar in this game? or you can always try to achieve them?
And is it possible to complete all achievements in this game? (at any time)
I rather put alot of effort and work to achieve goals, but when it comes to "not being able to" at all, thats just very lame and sad, especially for achievement lovers :p

Collectors Edition (Digital)

Alright, what you obtain from this is.

Helm of Light
Baby Behemoth Minion
Coeurl Mount
Behemoth Barding

Might be another achievement question, but does this Edition have anything to do with achievements? do you unlock any exclusive ones by having any of those items for example?

Otherwise i dont think its worth getting, i mean the mounts at higher level, are they equal to Coeurl? And i bet theres cuter minions out there anyway so i wouldnt use Behemoth.

But if it brings up some achievements from getting this package, i have no doubt getting it.

Thats all there is to it!
Really appreciate quick and detailed answers!
Cant wait to enter this wonderful world :3

You can be anything you like.

Want to be a gladiator, and a conjurer, and a thaumaturge, and a dragoon, and a bard and also a goldsmith who likes fishing and mining? Sure!

There's no limitations. You can level every class and job to 50 if you so wished to do that.

The class/job limitations you're thinking about are purely skill-wise. When you are on Gladiator for instance, you can use every skill from every job that can be cross-classed. If you switch from that "class" to the job "Paladin", you will be limited in equipping only skills that you unlocked on Gladiator, Marauder and Conjurer. . And if moments later you switch to Dragoon, you will get other restrictions as to what skills you may equip depending on their jobs.

Basicly, All classes can use all cross-class skills, all "jobs" are restricted to only the three classes that supliment them. Switch job? diffirent restrictions. Nothing is set in stone, nothing you do will lock you out from anything else permanently.

As for achievements, there's none realistically you can miss that will time out, unless they were from 1.0 FFXIV (the version that released 3 years ago), or from previous events. Nothing atleast that's behind rediculous lockouts. All events can be done at level 1 for achievements, so there's no real lockout where you couldnt get it because you didnt have X or Y at that time. Not to mention that achievements are pointless in this game. Some give you a title, but that's about it. You shouldnt worry about it. And most of the events come back the next year too.

Collectors Edition has nothing to do with achievements and doesnt unlock anything other than the bonus items you got from it. Not listed is that you also get a Fat Chocobo from it now though. That said, all mounts are equal and are visual only. Nothing is "faster" or "better", it's all looks. Well, outside of the Magitek changes we're getting this update (cannons), but that's a Storyline reward anyhow.

FFXIV job system is design for you to be able to level all classes and jobs with just one Character. The jobs are just and extension of their classes, to unlock it you most be level 30 and a corresponding class to level 15. Just like you read, if you are at a class at the moment you can use almost all of the skill of other classes you have already level. But when you are using the job you have access only to some skill of 2 other classes.

Most player level Conjure to level 15 to use Cure and Protect while they are leveling their class. If you are a Achievement hoarder, yes there are some achievements you cannot get right now. There is a list of 1.0 Achievements that are not available to ARR players, plus all of the previous season events would be unavailable too. Those are the only Achievements that are time line base, every other achievement is not.

The Collector's edition items are not too important, just that does items will not be obtainable by any other way than the CE edition. Mounts as far speed are all the same, they are all just for looks. SE is creating a list of Minions for people to collect, one of them is the Baby Behemoth that can only be obtain with the CE edition.

I hope that answer all of your questions.
