You've got a .. uh .. you've ... uh ... there's a thing on your head.

Seriously... someone was paid to design that.

I took the DRG body out of ST last night. I was holding out for an oil or sand, but there are other things that I want to get done in game this weekend so I decided to take it. It's a very slight upgrade over Weathered Astrum, and it looks kind of decent, so I haven't bothered to glamour it. That may change if there is too much green in the rest of the set.

It looks like it went exactly as planned to me.

That kinda looks like the Sage head piece from FF3.

If that dropped to me...I would drop it. There isn't enough hide head gear buttons in the world to get me to equip that.

1) Do the remaining two new dungeons to get those cleared off my quest list. Tamtara HM was..... *shivers* I think I might farm it regularly, though. It's not too hard.
2) Try the new Sycus Tower.
3) Get my damn GLD to 22 so I can continue leveling WAR.
4) Furnish my FC room. It's very sad looking right now.

Check, check, check, aaaaaand working on that now.

Also as a bonus I caught up through all the main story quests and beat Ramuh HM. He's kind of a pansy compared to Titan.

1. Frontlines unitl i get 6000 more wolf marks so I could buy the paladin or bard chest armor to glamour for sh*ts and giggles. Continue to wreck shop towards the horse mount. Go Immortal Flames!?
2. Stack myth to buy maps. Run daily quest (do an extreme roulette!) to get a map. Beg friends to help with said maps. Get alexandrite from maps. Use alexandrite and material to fill sphere scroll. Repeat. Do some fates with the animus to speed up the process.
3. Got my oil from CT this week so no more until next week.
4. Continue desynthesizing all the things. I really want the title Valk Ayree "The Dissassembler". Right now, cooking, armorer, blacksmith, and leatherworker are all around 55-60. With my last 60 I will up weaver. To get to 100 in any one thing is nearly impossible, especially when you consider that the stats drop as you level other desynths. So versatility is the name of the game for me. As of now, I can desynth anything that is level 50 or lower (in my chosen categories) with about 70% minimum accuracy. ilvl 60 items are at 50% for me. But all I need is lvl 40-50 items to get the 10 level 1 desynth crafting materia I need to make the new coeurl fur underwear all the guys who play female mithra want to spend 2 million gil on.
5. Maybe join a roving hunt group. Wasn't one of those lucky folks who found himself in a hunt linkshell.
6. Still no aspirations for second coil or Ramuh. Can't find a damn party on the server willing to do it. Ah Lamia. How casual you be.

1. Did frontlines until 14k wolf marks. Got 10 all out wins, 90 to go. Still unsure what I want to spend the marks on. Smiley: dubious
2. Got 5/22 on the shield. I've got 1700 myth as well, so that's an extra two maps, plus my daily quest brings me to 8. I've been bribing my friends with peisteskin treasure maps to come along and help. Smiley: grin
3. Here's to next week. Smiley: boozing
4. Did use some desynthesis mats to make a dodore HQ crafting belt and slotted that, so all my crafters got a boost. Other than that, ran into a roadblock with weaver, all the crap is sooooo expensive. Smiley: frown And it turns out there is a unique cloth that you need to make those fur items. There hasnt even been one posted on our server yet. 5 bucks it drops from a XIV venture. Smiley: schooled
5. Got into a new hunt linkshell, managed to get myself a leader tag, invited every random person asking + my FC. Now my people have a decent resource. Was able to hop into a hunt party last night (finally) and stuck around for 2-3 hours. Fought the giant magitek S rank guy with the sword up by the harriers in Mor Dhona, and got 50 allied seals, 200 myth, and a bloodied mark log (equivalent to 250 seals) for my contribution. WTF! Smiley: eek
6. After three days of trying, downed moogle ex with my paladin. Couldn't find 4 competent / geared dps all at the same time. The other tank kept rotating his guy while I had king mog and wouldnt follow the 180 degree rule, so I had a heck of a time keeping the king away from the bard moogle. Other than that, I enjoyed the tank swap mechanic in that battle. But 9/10 would not do again. So now I can challenge Ramuh ex, me and the 4 other guys who arent already in exclusive "beat Ramuh ex" linkshells, lol. Smiley: oyvey

Two easy wins in Syrcus tower. I didn't run until Saturday so I think those still running by then knew the drill. Got UAT on the second lot. If you are aiming for Oil/UAT, it seems like the competition goes down by the end of the week. Just a thought.

ATMA hunting for two hours Friday = nothing.
Two more hours Saturday and one.
Saturday night about a 5 hour stretch netted 2 more Atmas.
That puts me at 11/12. Finding 3 in 9 hours is by far the highest drop rate I have seen thus far.

You know that feeling when you have been constipated for a bit, and you have that one **** built up that is about two inches larger in diameter than your turds normally stretch your ****? And you have no choice but to push that sucker out and it's gonna hurt like hell. That's where I am with ATMA's now. The final push to give birth to my unusually large ****-baby.

TLDR: Hunting Atmas is exactly like being constipated.

1) Do Hullbreaker Isle. It's the only one of the new dungeons that I need to do, and then I'll unlock Duty Roulette Expert again.

2) Work on Leatherworker. To make the Tarzan swimsuit, I need to get it to 50.

3) Work on Bard. Currently 33, so 35 is doable.

4) Try Syrcus Tower (I can't help but think it's "Circus Tower").

1) Done with Catwho and Valk! Oddly enough, I didn't like going as a tank on the previous Expert dungeons because of speed runs, but I don't mind it for the new ones.

2) Went from 29 to 32. I am sick of making boar leather, but my inventory thanks me.

3) Got it to 36. Low level roulettes are very slow, so I think I'll be using levequests to supplement the hunting log while waiting.

4) Done! Got the MNK head to go with my recently purchased soldiery hands to push my MNK's ilvl to 92.

Also did Ramuh (Hard mode), so progress on the storyline was good.

My goals were simple this weekend.

I wanted to cap Soldiery, which i did with time to spare.

I wanted to make some furniture for myself and for my friends, some floors, wallpapers, partitions, baths, etc. Managed to do that too.

aaaaaand then surprisingly managed to sell my leftovers for a combined total of 1,8 mil gil on the boards. Now on monday most of the prices crashed pretty hard, but that was an unexpected thing to happen. (gave 300k to a friend so she could get a room too)

My weekend goals were pretty much hijacked by elite mark hunting. I didn't have as much time to play as I thought I would, but by the time I was done helping my FC with dungeons and such, I managed to farm maybe 240 allied seals during Sunday morning and evening.

Crazy that so many people in my hunt parties had already completed one or two sands...

Be careful of your friends. If they've already completed that much they may be exploiting the whole Radar add on from XIV APP, which has been the subject of huge uproar in the official forums right now.

I think with this much attention paid to it, the development team may have to take some action on it. While, tracking those who are using the app may not be so easy, they could make a few tweaks to the system or even the background of the game to make the tool ineffective for hunts.

-------------------

Friday Night was interesting, Leviathan and Ramuh hard completed for several members of our FC, and we got an Sycrus Tower down easy.

Sadly, Titan on Sunday was a Mountain Bust.

The sooner they can break that app, the better. There were times we'd find a mark up with nobody else around, but sure enough, the horde would come rolling in within seconds. We'd also sometimes have party members who seemed to know where most marks were popping, but when we'd ask how they knew, they'd just say they heard in their linkshells (which may be true, but people in their linkshells may have been using radar apps).

Part of that is just mass communication within hunt linkshells, but certainly people using radar apps is a huge problem that's putting a lot of stress on the system.

As for me, I simply kept track of which players always seemed to be in the thick of most claims, and then I'd just player search their names to learn which zones had open mark windows. Then all you need to do is wait and follow the herd. No radar apps needed. Smiley: smile

I'm going to be very busy outside FFXIV this weekend, but if I can manage to get on I'll be going back to "regular" stuff. Hit 50 on Goldsmith last night. It's left me short on gil and very short on GC seals.

So Dailies, and some advancing storyline, with luck a HM primal or two.

Very busy weekend outside the game.

But in FFXIV, inspired by Valk Ayree's "If you can beat Praetorium", I drew a deep breath and signed up for Ifrit Hard in DF. Won it first time, with four commendations.

I ran all three new dungeons. The storyline for Tam-Tara is pleasantly twisted. If you haven't done it yet, take the time to read of all of the notes scattered throughout, it only takes a couple of extra minutes. If people are in too much of a rush, make them wait, it's worth it. Hullbreaker Isle's Kraken boss is kind of neat, and the cannon battle in Stone Vigil is a nice change of pace.

I finally finished off the Sylph questline and got my Goobue. That just leaves the fish people. I really don't care for that zone, so I've been putting them off till last. Also, the Bomb Palenquin is easily my favorite mount, so I don't use the others much anyway.

Last, I picked up enough seals to buy my last piece of DRG soldiery gear, so I can start gearing up my BRD a bit now. I also grabbed my fifth Atma book, which is just as boring as the first four. I can't wait to get this phase over with, but I don't generate Myth very fast these days, so it's taking forever.

Not really the weekend, but if you are willing to stretch it to the Monday...

Last night I cleared Garuda HM and Titan HM through DF groups, and caught a lucky "new player bonus" Castrum Meridianum to boost the Myth enough to Zenith the resulting Thyrus. YAY!

Titan HM didn't really require the memorization I feared, not from the healer point of view. While I studied videos and cheat sheets, I found that once I was familiar enough with the phases to not be surprised, I could heal it reactive and do just fine. I did use Catwho's trick of keeping Sprint up as much as possible, which helped immensely (thanks, Catwho!).

You know, as some of us are really doing their game-play fairly distributed, perhaps we should change the theme from "Weekend Goals And Accomplishment Thread" to Weekly Goals and Accomplishment Thread. If nobody's opposed. I end up doing most of our group's raiding and stuff on Wednesdays - Fridays anyways x.x

T7 clear, woot!

These Second Coil fights are fun. Team coordination is essential. Everything I would want them to be. Can't wait to dig into T8.

Afterwards, two more hours in Lower La Noscea farming level 2-10 FATES for my last Atma. Nothing yet. At 11/12 I sit. The contrast between Second Coil awesomeness and killing Level 2 Toads is - what's the word I'm looking for?

Turn 6 - Frustrating because of the randomness. (I hate hate hate the random timing of the middle bulb). But then again, I did beat Moogle Mog Ex and Ramuh Ex so maybe I'll just have to keep at it.

Atma - Frustrating because of the randomness. The animus books are less random, but waiting on those FATEs can take hours. And whoever decided to make the mysterious maps for alexandrite to be unsoloable, and then credit your teammates with a grand total of 1000 gil is a twit. (when you have 75+ and you have to tell your friends everyday for 30-75 days "Hey I know you are itching to make 1000 gil" it can get frustrating.

So bottom line, different levels of frustrations, imo.

Well, I failed pretty much everything I wanted to do. A friend of a friend who joined our FC just hit his first 50, so most of the weekend was spent doing things like finishing his storyline, unlocking CT, and taking him through Brayflox a few times for i70 newb gear. What I did manage to accomplish in the remaining time:

Levelled WVR from 35 to 50!
Spent a fortune in gil levelling WVR to 50! Smiley: laugh
Spent another fortune adding more overmelds to my CUL. Can finally get reliable +75% HQ rates on that damnable Spicy Relish. Artisan's Frypan soon, fellow STALKER.
Farmed up a few snurble tufts and HQed a bunch of Felt to earn some gil back. Also did some cooking and listed about 140k in stuff.
Did a big, expensive food order for the FC fisherman.
Capped tomes.
