how to teleport to residential areasFollow

I did the residential quests for all 3 cities and it says the aetherytes are now connected however If im in lets say the Lominsa plaza/square in front of the huge aethryte crystal and lick on it theirs no option to teleport to Mist soooo how do I do it?

Yep, you also get it automatically when your FC obtains a house and have a mini aetheryte on the residence.

its not there though so im guessing it doesnt apply to people with no FC house?

yeah ive activated teleports in the housing areas.. i us ethem to travel from the entrance to the materiel supplier NPC yet despite that I still cant teleport to the residential from the main aethyryte in a city. at least in the main cities when you activate an aetheryte you get a message letting you know it

There's a quest to unlock the teleports.

Gridania: Bentbranch Meadows.
La Noscea: At the farm right beside the physical entrance to Mist.
Ul'dah: ???? not sure about this one.

They're all called "Where the Heart is (Mist)" (or Goblet/Lavender Meadows). The quest is basically "NPC asks you to go to the place, you go there, talk to a guard, he says the NPC can't move in, you go back and tell the NPC that" and then it'll say "Mist Aetheryte Access Unlocked" or something like that and it will now appear in your Teleport list.

You might want to check again, as unless they changed it in the past few months, that's the only thing needed to unlock the aetherytes in housing areas. If you don't believe it, go look it up on ffxiv wiki... I mean, that is basically what it's for.

You don't use the Aetheryte to go there, you use the Teleport menu (like any other small settlement in the world), therefore it will cost you gil.

Aetherytes are only used inside the cities and to set homepoints/favored destinations.

Residential Teleports are usually listed at the top of the list with an aetheryte icon (instead of the square city icon for the others).

I didn't even realize THAT existed. I was talking about the Teleport List that you can use anywhere.

Wow. Okay, haha. If I ever need to go to the FC house, I know another way to do it now.

Now I feel like a derp. lol.

You can also take a boat. The ferry by the fisherman's guild in Limsa goes to Mist. Same thing in Gridania where the boat by the lancer's guild goes to Lavender beds. There's a Goblet teleport guy in Ul'dah somewhere, though I can't remember where off the top of my head.
