As the title says, which abilities, traits, ect, really changed the way you play your class?

For me there were two; first was swiftcast from tha. My SCH, I felt, was always at a good level in terms of skill and doing my job in a timely manner. I actually didn't get swiftcast til well after
I hit 50, man, all those levels of swiftcasting I missed! Swiftcast for me is a god send.

My second is Cover for PLD. I did not start using this til expert dungeons and it made a world of difference. It gave me some breathing room when trying to keep hate on a group of mobs. However, nothing is more gratifying then covering a whm while they spam Holy and watching mobs melt under a downpour of holy awesomeness.

Day before yesterday, I got Regen on my WHM.

Didn't get much of a chance to use it (all the dungeons I did were Level Sync'd below Regen) until I got into Stone Vigil and I'm like "Holy s---!!"

I didn't expect it to heal THAT STINKING MUCH. Jeebus.

Then after Stone Vigil, when I was solo again, for S&G I decided to throw it on myself and......... wow. omg. Okay, I almost never need to cast Cure anymore in solo fights, even when I'm fighting 2 mobs at once, WITH Cleric Stance. Regen keeps me full at all times as long as I don't forget to refresh it so I can spend 90% of my GCDs on Offense.

Regen is that "OMG YES!!" spell for me as a WHM. Then later last night, I did some Copperbell to help a friend level his GLA and I was like "awww, no Regen? that blows...." because I was liking that spell so much.

Shield Oath did this for me. It's the diffirence between things ignoring your flash and attacks and just attacking whatever they can find, to monsters atleast being semi-interested in you for the first few seconds of the fight.

Stoneskin was another one of these things. Off-tank could throw a stoneskin on the Main tank and save the healer some stressing, opposed to standing around waiting.

Also, any ability Marauder/Warrior uses after 2.2 changed the way i play when i'm on a healer or a DPS, whenever i have a Warrior in my group i just go completely apesh*it crazy since i know nothing can pull hate off them anyhow. Flares, Medica II, arrow rains, super buffed jumps, nothing fazes them. :/

Flare on Black Mage. I'm still finding new ways to tweak its usage in battle. Yeah, it uses all your MP, but BLM has 2-3 ways to fix that problem, and you can sometimes pop off 3-4 Flares in a row during long fights in places like Syrcus Tower. It's like a mini limit break.

Then you're back to Fire Fire Fire Bliz Bliz Fire Fire Fire for a few minutes, but for those 30 seconds when you're dropping Flare bombs, BLM is the most fun job in the game.

And now I need Quelling Strikes because Flare from an ILvl 100+ BLM makes tanks cry.

As WHM, I agree with Regen.

As SCH...

Bane.

Although I am learning now that Lustrate may trump that...not there yet so we'll see.

I love Sprint on Blm. I over use it!

I love shield bash on paladin. I flash x2 the pile, then once i have established hate, i roll from enemy to enemy dropping stuns until i can flash again. Works pretty well.

With Bard, I pop Blood for Blood, Raging strikes, Hawk's eye, and barrage at the same time. Then I drop windbite and venimous bite. The three auto attacks from barrage plus the dots will do a lot of damage alone.

And I have a great time with shoulder tackle on my monk.
