I have to scoot back to ITIL training in a few seconds, but what do you want to do this week?

1. Play XIV at AWA.
2. Get BRD to 35. One level, I think I can do it.
3. Unweather another thing on BLM.

Softballing it this week.

I think I'll start concentrating a little more on MNK than WHM for a while:

1. Try to finish off my first set of atmas
2. Cap soldiery and get my MNK body
3. Level BLM to 46, and get SMN somewhere towards that too.
4. Hunts. Seals. Unweather.

2. Next week cap soldiery. Then the week after cap soldiery and get 110 bard chest piece.
3. Practice T9.
4. Work on gathering light for Nexus.
5. Keep the self sustaining glazenut farm going.
6. Grab random healer, dragoon, monk, or tank gear from ST.

Using the Ixal quests, I'm going to try and make a dash for 35+ BSM. I think it is on at least 31 now, so that shouldn't be too hard, considering it is almost a guaranteed level every day, lol.

I'm thinking get BSM to 40 first, then switch over to CRP, then ARM and that pretty much covers all of my Lv40 tool needs. Then, once everything is 40... then it should be just a stone's throw to get to 50 from there.

Can't wait for the day I don't need to do GC turnins every day, lol. Then I'd have more time to do other stuff.

On the subject of other stuff, I got my i90 Body/Legs last night so hopefully at least one more piece would be nice. When I've all the i90 pieces except weapon and 1 ring, I'll take on Ifrit HM and see how that goes.

My goals?

1. Farm lights... get up to at least 1k (at 750-ish now).
2. Do beastman quests each day
3. Kill a primal ex

Goals for the upcoming week:

I cleared T8 this past Tuesday on my main (BRD), with that said

** Continue working T9 Fri - Mon (Up to last set of Golems before phase 3 last night)
** Tues -> T6-9 (with progression on T9 - Looking to be on last phase comfortably by end of this time frame and pushing to have cleared by the week after)

*** Get elusive clear on T6 with my alt (SMN), got to 3 % other night (was confusion as we were suppose to go with SS but ended up trying to burn with no communication as to going that route..... it slowed the group down on trying to burn).

*** Clear ST on my alt (SMN)
*** Get caught up on main story for alt (SMN) - Currently at the end of the original content, have levi and Ramhu content to knock out.

I don't think I've ever posted in one of these threads to say what I'm planning on doing in the game.

I've decided to give up on upgrading relic weapons, possibly for good. The furthest I've made it is 3 books for an Atma weapon, and at the rate I'm going it will probably be well into next year before I complete the other 6 let alone the rest of the long upgrade road. But for three weeks of maxing out Soldiery and some easy drops from ST, and I could have an i110 weapon ready to go. Seems like this is the sane choice rather than toughing it out on a lesser weapon in some long term, expensive upgrade route.

The bulk of a character's effectiveness is the strength of their weapon, so it just makes sense to make this the priority for now. It's good preparation for the 2.4 patch.

My goal seems simple enough. Buy the game on Wednesday. Download all the updates. Hopefully, get to sign in and play some on Thursday. I will just spend the first week wandering around, exploring the starting areas, doing the newbie stuff. I would also like to make some new friends, who might show me the ropes. I was thinking going to Lamia server.
Would like to get into a social group of people that enjoy playing together and helping each other out. Cheers!

Get the last three Silver Sovereigns I need to get my glowy fishing pole.

Snag another oil or sand out of ST.

Maybe get a few more Alexandrite. I'm having a hard time with this one. I'm already sick of running the same three dungeons over and over again and the drop rate from FATEs is a joke. I barely do enough hunts to get an oil now and then, so that just leaves paying 800 myth a pop. Which is actually how I got my last two. My the time I've finished getting them all, I'm going to be another two or three stages behind.

As to last week. I got ridiculously lucky on melding my DoL accessories. I had wanted to put enough GP on my accessories to get to 600, but since I had two materia on each of them already, it was only a 19% chance. First, I manged to get eight GP+3 materia at half the price I was willing to pay, and then when I went to meld them, I failed the first meld, but got the next three in a row. Now I have exactly 600 GP without food, which has made my Mining much easier.

Nothing, because my PS3 died. :/

Didn't even make it one year, unlike my PS2 which made it for about ten years of FFXI.

An unexpected achievement for me this week, successfully cleared T5! 1st time I entered the fight as a Paladin, wiped 1st attempt to twisters, and cleared on the 2nd attempt! Myself and 3 others in the group all needed the clear, so pretty pleased about it :D Prior to the clear my whole experience of T5 was 2 failed duty finder attempts, both only getting as far as snakes, and both times I was on DRG, so I'm pretty chuffed that I picked up the mechanics quickly :).

On top of this, I also got BRD to lvl 50 and ran the relic quest line. That now makes it so I have every combat class at lvl 50, all at least i90 with a relic zenith or better!

I also finished my DRG novus, so I now have PLD and DRG nexus weapons to work on! Productive week all in all :)

Well I got pretty much done even though we are still playing less.

I finished my alexandrites. I should have used a UAT instead because I ran out of money trying to upgrade this thing.. DET prices went through the roof.. Some of the others are much higher too so now it sits without being finished. Probably can kiss our house goodbye too next time... This is so stupid that the cost is so high for some.

Got allot of crafting done.
Leveled leather to almost 15.
Got fishing, goldsmithing, and Botany up a few levels.
Got my sands.
Did some hunts.

I did get to play a bit at AWA. I got kicked out out the video gaming room at one point because they were saving the seats for the console players there (wtf man.) Con suite and the manga library rooms were much more accommodating, though.

Beat T6-T8. Took us 3 hours this time, we had 3 pickups, so the team synergy wasnt there as well. Tank stuff dropped T6, I ended up picking up blm bracelets on T7, and on T8 I lost the lot to that sweet sweet blm robe =( =( =(. No bard stuff.

What do you do when one of your FC's strongest members, who is in your static group, leaves to join the FC of your static? Do you quit the static for the principle of the betrayal, and forego all the loot to be gained? Or do you stay because the static works and &$#&$&# it? I said &$#&#&($( it. It's just a game.

This one is for next week, but will definitely be done. Might take my time capping since it is an off week and rushing doesnt matter.

Progress here, thank God. We comfortably get to heavensfall now, since we figured out how to negotiate the second set of meteors after the first golems die. Pretty much have each person go to a finger, and if you are targeted, drop your meteor where you are and move over to in between two fingers but inside on a line, then to the next finger, and so forth. Worked really well. Actually beat the first ghost of meraciladldjfsud. I think at that point I was the only one who knew there was a second heavensfall and to stand in the red waypoint, but all in good time.

Valkayree wrote:

4. Work on gathering light for Nexus.

I made it to indistinct aetheric activity! That means I am comfortably at 200 / 2000 light. Smiley: disappointed. I should have been running light this weekend, but I was moving a lot of things around the house and most of my time not in coil was spent hunting the almighty atma. Think I ran 50 fates with the zentih equipped and received 0 atma. So all in all pretty much as expected.

Valkayree wrote:

Sitting on 9 glazenuts now. They sell for 325k. I dont like that. Gonna hold them and see if the price goes up when the next cool thing to garden causes a supply shift.

Pretty sure I grabbed healer hat. I don't know what I was thinking.

Much to my surprise, the last few atmas dropped within a few hours, starting with the LLN I have had so much trouble with after 96 FATEs (not as bad as East Shroud at all!). So I've started on my first book, and actually having a lot of fun doing it. That's kind of shifted my priorities, although I did get BLM to 42 while waiting for book FATEs to pop.

I reached my goal of the Nexus midway point, and I got dragoon to 50 and did my beastmen quests. Didn't get any primal Ex wins, thanks to stupidity in the DF.

How is the DF so good at always throwing in one or two people who have absolutely no clue what they're doing?

I got a good amount of fishing and crafting in. I also picked away at getting Alexandrite and coming up with a plan to keep my accuracy in the range it needs to be for whenever I get to Coil 2; raising the cap on soldiery would be so, so nice since doing a daily roulette means I hit the cap far too early in the week.

I also cashed in my token to get a new haircut at the aesthetician, and Catwho did not notice the new do at all! /coldshoulder
