Wonder if that's Fenrir or just something similar to Fenrir because they DEFINITIELY went the different direction than they said they were. (Primals like Fenrir an Carbuncle were supposed to be "lesser" ones that summoners may end up controlling.)

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

Having him in the dungeon might just be a nice non-storyline means of introducing him as a character.

Snowcloak: Duty demands these passageways be investigated

In my wildest dreams theres exploration in a dungeon. My gut says it’ll just be another race to see how quick you can get past it.

I've looked and looked. What exactly is this "Fenrir" looking monster?

Big black wolf primal in XI.

I've looked and looked myself, carefully examining each of the pictures. I dont see anything even remotely resembling him on there. Surely you're not thinking of the demonic creature with the sword between the Yellowjackets? :/ That has arms, legs, a weapon, clothing, etc :x

I think they mean the "wolf" in the middle of the page here:

http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20141006_670078.html

It was linked on the OF and has been some cause for discussion it seems.

Lol. I know who Fenrir is in the context of FF. I just didn't see him in any of the pictures in the OP's link.

That link, when translated, says that that image of the dog is Fenrir.

Am I the only one disappointed that we're just seeing primals that resemble summons from FFXI? I know FFXI had a lot of avatars but there's plenty of others that aren't as mainatream that would be excellent for FFXIV.

Wouldn't mind seeing a few "Neutral" Primals too...

I mean, I get it, the beastmen are summoning evil primals to crush the "civilized" races, but surely there are primals not worshipped by beastmen, ones that don't want to kill everybody and everything?

But then..you'd be stepping into XI territory, where you have summons that are just there that act on their own will. We know how much the XIV community (specially on official forums) LOVE FFXI concepts in this game.

That was the original concept:

Primals we know - Beastmen summoned
Elder Primals - (Shiva), Odin, Behemoth and Bahamut
Lesser Primals (2.0 Concept) - Things like Diabolos, Fenrir, Carbuncle, Siren and anything NOT summoned by the beastmen that may be on "our side" as we can summon as well.
Things that are considered Primals - Ultima Weapon, Omega Weapon.

They seemed to have thrown out the Lesser Primal idea and allocated them to 4 man trash content.

Well, the advantage to new Qarn is you have to have beaten old Qarn, so only people who knew to kill the bees should be running it...

Oddly enough I've run Qarn twice in the last week: once for a MNK relic book, and once from a daily roulette. I actually kind of like it both as healer (how I ran it back in the day) and as dps (as I run it now). I hope HM will be just as cool (meaning, of course, that almost everyone except me will hate it!).
