Weekly Goals and Accomplishments 10/24 - 10/30Follow

#1 Oct 24 2014 at 7:04 AM Rating: Excellent
Next week is Patch Monday. You've got 3 days to spend your Myth and do what you want before it's gone. What are you hoping to do?

1. ***** CAPPING SOLDIERY HAHAHAHA
2. Get my ST item before reset
3. Another couple levels on BRD before rogue drops.
4. Pass my ITIL Foundations test on Monday

One accomplishment I got that I didn't expect was being sent the Ahriman necklace in Mog Mail on Wednesday. I'm guessing SE took pity on me for entering the art contest in the sculpture category by sending pictures, which disqualified me for the final voting at Fan Fest. However, they only had 5 entries in sculpture, out of 10 possible slots, so my picture of origami boxes was enough to land me a slot in the semi-finalists, so to speak.

I'm holding onto my myth, in fact. Letting it switch over to Soldiery with the patch as the conversion rate will be better for me to work on my Spear Books that way.

Before the patch? RPs, watching the info coming out of Fanfest with bated breath.

After the Patch: Servers open Tuesday which is Vanguard Night, we're going to go explore the patch and talk about how we want to gear/run raids through it.

Thursday we're pulling the whole alliance together and talking over how we want to do Raids and RPs in the new patch.

Other than that? Hopping on the Rogue/Ninja bandwagon. I'm a sucker for high-mobility classes so Ninja is right up Lin's Alley.

Reminder that it is Philisophy tomesones that will disappear, the myth tomes will be converted to soldiery at a rate of 4:1 so no worries about offing myth if that was a concern. I'll just trade the stacked myth out for soldiery and use it to buy a weathered piece.

My goals for the weekend, and next week:

Weekend:
1. Finish capping soldiery and try to cap myth in preparation for the conversion.
2. Get a sands or an oil from ST. Gonna need a bunch of those really soon.
3. Beat T6-T8. Still need bard ring and blm ring. Lost our rather aweome healer this week so I don't know how that's gonna work.
4. Beat T9. Considering the loss of our heals, there's a snowball's chance in Texas of that happening.
5. Keep the light train chugging very slowly. At 690 / 2000. Smiley: dubious
6. Watch walking dead on Sunday.

Next week post patch:
1. Get those poetic tomestones. Run story and hildebrand to unlock Shiva HM and Ultros HM so I can get Trials HM back. Run the new three dungeons so I can re-unlock expert roulette. And do them all on tank so I can gather the light. I will upgrade bard first past 110 this go-around, and start putting soldiery into getting the tank to 110.
2. I guess I'll unlock ninja, and use my xp from weekly challenges to level him up really realllllly slowly.
3. Attempt to quickly find the moneymaker in the patch notes and exploit it as fast as possible (please oh please oh please let it be a use for clear demimateria)...

Well not much I can do this weekend and once the patch comes out..
Tes will be out of town visiting her family for a week... These patches always drop when she is out of town..
That means once the patch hits I have to wait for her.. So no story line...
This weekend I still need ST drop..
I will still raise money for the house so crafting and trying to bring in money...
that's pretty much it...

Once patch drops I need to find us a house. I hope they allow sharing of a house once the bonding system comes into play. We dont want separate houses nor can we afford them..

I'm working 10 straight days--2 down, 8 to go. Got my ST drop for Sch, so I may chip away at capping soldiery. I won't dive into rogue until I'm off for a couple of days, and by then I'll be a few days behind the first big wave. Thf was my first class in ffxi--I've always liked agile characters. Looking forward to this patch!

Excited about sneak attack and trick attack. I see myself moving behind the boss, macroing hide + trick attack for 400 potency, then getting that 10% dmg boost, moving to the front, macroing hide + sneak attack for the 500 potency + 50 potency for a huge hit. Of course this depends on the cooldown of hide, and whether or not the 10 second damage boost from trick attack would have worn off by then, but cool nonetheless.

I wonder how long it will take for the first level 50 Ninja to appear after the patch? 10 hours?

Alas, no hiding in combat. Suiton in combat. All the Suiton in combat.

Got my account working again by investing in 3 Game Time Cards (one i could toss out since it's NA and SE wont exchange it, one that never arived, and one i got from a local store).

First thing i did was level Monk from 48 to 50.

And then it happened. ALL JOBS LEVEL 50~ (Atleast till thief/ninja comes out)

Finally got my BTN up to overmeld standards. And got my i70 BTN tool. Now i can work on making some gil and save up for a house, slowly but surely.

New addition to my list-o-things to do: save up for DRK.

Still on the fence about leveling Rogue. Not going to bother with Ninja because i do not plan on taking Rogue into DF. If anything, it will just be my solo/farming class.

Got bard ring from T8, so my bard is 110 and officially higher than my blm Smiley: dubious.

Got Nael to 2% in T9 before I had to leave. Finally got the last stage down as a team. Went from 3pm till 8pm. The team continued from 8pm till 12am with a pickup from their FC who had already beaten it. And my static beat T9 without me. Smiley: cry Was told next weekend we are farming it for loot, so we will see.

Got my sands from ST. Light at 736. Thundercats go.

Didn't really accomplish anything new over the weekend, although I did help some people in my FC beat Moogle Ex, and hopefully I'll be able to help some others clear Levi before leaving on vacation later this week.

Yes, I know. While the rest of you are playing 2.4, I'll be moping around in Maui, drinking away my game withdrawals on a sunny beach.

First-world problems...

Didn't do anything epic. I basically did the following:

1. Continued Atma farming (5 down, 7 to go)
2. Got my second job, Monk, a little over 2 weeks or so ago
3. Leveled all of my combat classes to at least 15 (with the exception of ACN; I'm doing that with my wife)
4. Started leveling Miner (currently Lvl 15) so I could help my FC with soil
5. Cleared Moogle Ex for the first time alongside my FC mates

I've been lazy about Soldiery lately, so I've not really gotten any new armor lately. I'm currently at iLvl 93 with 2 pieces of i110, 1 piece of i100, and everything else at i90. I'll probably continue this soon.

Now, for this week...do I REALLY need to say what I'll be doing this week? :)

I know it might not seem as much, but some personal accomplishments.

We managed to do some re-arranging enough in our Free Company Headquarters to move our Dining Hall out of a Private Room and into our basement. We're kinda strained under the 150 item limit to keep things immerse for people to RP in, but, with the new editable furniture food coming out this patch, we wanted to move the dining hall out so we could place food items in it for players to actually use. So, not only did we have to clear space for the hall's furniture, but keep enough space afterwards for placing down food dishes, tea, and whatnot.

We broke in the re-arranged room with a Meet and Greet in our FC last night before the servers went down and it looks nice. Glad to have one of our more commonly RPed areas in a more open area.

The Barracks, which was in the basment before, have now been moved to the Private room mentioned. Also updated our entry area to make it more RP friendly. Yey for housekeeping!

Got an oil from ST over the weekend, so my healers are now iLvl 98.

Had one last futile clear attempt on Titan Ex, with some very good players from a linkshell I'm in, but there was a miscommunication and "we need to clear this for our books" turned into "learning to clear" party and we had people who didn't know the fight at all. Never got past the heart phase. Any time I died, it was because I was trapped in a gaol and the DPS wasn't there to break me out in time. So it goes.

Edit: And passed ITIL Foundations! Another cert down.

People who work in IT collect certifications like they were merit badges. Very expensive merit badges.

Had a hefty patch Tuesday.

1. Cleared all three new dungeons. Snowcloak is the easiest and most linear imo. Qarn is the most fun, but a bit longer. Sastasha's final boss takes a while. Unlocked the expert roulette (feels like I got my right arm back) Smiley: nod , and managed to stack poetry to 250 in a day. Not bad. Going for that sweet 120 bard chest next week.

2. Progressed the story past Shiva and downed Shiva HM and the Ultros fight. Unlocked trials HM roulette (and my left arm) Smiley: grin.

3. Was first disappointed that A rank hunts only give 20 seals and 20 soldiery, then realized that you can buy the weathered soldiery ilvl 100 gear for allied seals. Promptly took 1k of my 2900 saved seals, 2 saved sands and 2 saved oils, and combined with the 2k myth converting to 500 soldiery, took my paladin from 103 to 109 in about 1 hour. Thinking that I am going to accumulate soldiery now and use it with the UAT and my last sands to buy the 110 ninja weapon. I've got some decent monk stuff, was happy to see that my high allagan monk boots are also ninja. Smiley: smile Wondering if I can use my high allagan bard accessories for ninja as well. At any rate, anything I dont have I'll buy in gloam gear with seals. May run ST a few times (or coil, particularly T8) to get a few more sands to upgrade. Rogue is only lvl 16 atm, I'm not bum rushing it, but I am actively leveling it when I get the chance.

4. Did some XV ventures. Got my first results back, will post when I have enough data to make it worthwhile.

5. Had 3 unhidden leather maps, bought 3 more for 250k each. Then went on a map quest with my tank and bird. Got the imitation mistbeard mask off the third one in, and off the fifth one in got the imperial shadow visor of +7 awesomeness. Immediately glamoured to everything and changed my hair up to match it. Love the look Smiley: grin

6. 789 / 2000 towards the paladin nexus...

I havent done the new dungeons yet, or any of the new story.
My thief however already hit 20.

So simple plans this week:

- Do all 3 new dungeons over the weekend.
- Get Thief as high as you can meanwhile ( 20 -> 50 )
- Hang out at our local catgirl bar technically it's called the "catbrothel and garden" in the Mist and make some new friends. Like actually be social, talk to new people and put them on my friendlist if they're nice (protip: everyone is nice).
- And maybe get some of the story / manderville things done too if the weather allows it.

My day off work actually fell on patch day, so a lot of my goals were accomplished in 1 day!

So far this week I have:

1) Unlocked and completed all new dungeons in time to squeeze in Monday's expert before the rollover at 3 pm GMT, for that sweet bonus currency.
2) Unlocked and defeated Shiva and Ultros/Typhon and completed the main scenario and Hildibrand quest lines.
3) Capped poetics and am sitting on them until next week so I can really think about upgrade paths this time.

Goals for the rest of the week:

1) Continue grinding soldiery to make more progress through my warrior novus. Currently 53/75, hoping to be at 65/75 by Monday. Will be my 3rd Novus :D
2) Use Paladin to grind all of said soldiery to get more lights! Spending so much time on warrior over the last few weeks has put me a bit behind, just passed the 600/2000 mark.
3) Help the guys who couldn't make it for our patch day zerg through the new content to unlock their roulettes.
4) If time allows (unlikely due to all the late finishes at work this week), grind some ROG lvls, but that's a bonus.

Have a fun week everyone :D

Nice.. Books are not bad, If you have the tomes you can do one a night depending on fates... Some of the fates I had to wait a whole night without popping but I think they adjusted some of the fates for the books but some are still really long.... But if you get lucky on fates they are easily done in a evening..

Be sure to hit some of us up on the FC for some of the FATES, The Four Winds in particular.

I finished Snowcloak so my Expert Roulette is unlocked again. I can do the Alexandrite map quest again.

I am going to try to get as far as I can on NIN. So far I have not enjoyed Rogue that much, but as I start getting into the late 20s it is getting better and quite frankly the only thing I've been looking forward to is the NIN part of the job anyway so it is all good. Can't wait to ding 30 and then reach for AF later.

It's been a Roguey week for me.

Since patch day I've put in about 40 hours as of this post (over 3 days).

My NIN is 36 and trucking along. Trying to queue for dungeons while I do other things but I have this problem where I get 90k'd every couple of hours, so that completely jacks up my dungeon queues. This morning it actually took me about 5 hours to successfully complete a dungeon including queue times and re-queue times, and re-re-queue times.

Unlocked the new dungeons but haven't done them yet, hopefully tonight I can get them in.
