For those not getting Ninjutsu:

You can't set the action "Suiton" to your hotbar or ever just execute it. Ninjutsu is how you do it. You can set the hand actions to you bar then press Ninjutsu after you do the prerequisite gestures and it will do Suiton. Now you could macro it all for something like:

/hand gesture 1
/hand gesture 2
/hand gesture 3
/action Ninjutsu
/p "Why is this so complicated? Casting [Suiton] on <t>"

(I'm not using exact macro syntax, sue me).

Macroing it would take you about two seconds longer than it would take to do it manually.

But the reason why it's so complicated is so you actually have a spell list without having to flood your ability bar. If they split it into individual abilities... you'd get 4.

Because they split it into code, you get 7, with the capability of much more whenever they add more Mundras.

It was a smart way to give ninja's a potentially wide spell list without over-cluttering the UI for Contoler users.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but these seem pretty easy to make?

In order to maintain the difficulty of certain duties, item level sync has been applied to the following dungeons:
Category Duty Item Level Sync
Dungeon The Wanderer's Palace 110
Amdapor Keep
Pharos Sirius
Copperbell Mines (Hard)
Haukke Manor (Hard)
The Lost City of Amdapor
Halatali (Hard)
Brayflox's Longstop (Hard)
Hullbreaker Isle
The Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard)
The Stone Vigil (Hard)

When undertaking a duty utilizing item level sync, the item level of any gear exceeding the maximum item level will be adjusted accordingly. Unlike character level sync, however, gear parameters will not be subject to further reduction beyond that brought about by the item level decrease.

While item level sync is active, any materia that is equipped will not increase players’ attributes. Actions and traits are unaffected.

The following changes have been made to the Duty Finder window:
The item level sync icon has been added to applicable dungeons.
The title of each duty that has been checked will now be displayed at the bottom of the window.

At this risk of having (more) people hate me, I saw this coming.

Quote:

Players who select Withdraw from the Duty Ready confirmation window or allow the window to time out without making a selection three times or more in one day, will be temporarily prohibited from registering for duties via the Duty Finder.
This count will reset every day at 9:00 a.m. (PDT).

This is VERY interesting!!!

Seriously, this should really satisfy the hardcore raiding community. Even though I'm not part of that community, I certainly believe they're entitled to having the best gear in the game.

That said, I really like that the HQ raid gear will be just five iLevels above the best tome gear (which will probably require some coil drops to reach i135, unless sands of time are still useful for that). Drops from coil will always be the best, but the next tier down is just minimally weaker, so hardcore raiders won't have a huge advantage over everyone else. It's a good balance, imo.

How is this any different from how it's always been?

Now: Soldiery Tome equipment is i100-i110, High Allagan armor is i110, High Allagan weapons are i115.
2.4: Poetics Tome equipment is i120-i130, Final Coil armor is i130, Final Coil weapons are i135.

Same old, same old...

I think he took it as ALL coil gear is 135, and the highest ilvl you can get otherwise is i130. Apparently, that's not the case.

Ok confused by something else if the mythology tome armor is now gone and I see the current soldiery tome items listed as allied note/seals items then what armor will be bought with soldiery after the patch?

Also why is there no Ninja stuff listed on the weathered item list for allied notes? Surely they wont be sharing armor from another job? that would be real easy for someone who has said job geared

Yes we all know this, not a big shock there. Ninja will be sharing MNK gear prior to 2.4, so yes it will help them gear it out faster.

This is only a prelim patch notes, I would wait until full/final patch notes are released in a few day with patch.

I could be wrong, but I think they mentioned during the fan festival that they're just phasing it out. I guess they want to keep progressing with different types of currencies rather than taking the Blizz approach of converting and resetting currency and just using the same ones. Seems a bit unnecessary to me, but not really that confusing.

Even now, you can buy Myth armor with Allied Notes. So for 2.4 you'll still be able to buy Soldiery armor with Soldiery, but you'll also have the option to use Allied Notes instead.

It's not punishment for not finding a tank. Why would you withdraw, queue and withdraw and repeat if you can't find a tank? You sit in Queue and wait for it to go through.

If you're "doing something else" there's very little you can do that conflicts with your Queue - If you're in a cutscene, skip it and watch it later, that's the whole purpose for the Inn Journal. If you're in a level quest, you can abandon it and retry it after. It penalizes very few for "legit reasons" when we all know the in progress fishing is far more wide spread than people who had to pee at the wrong time, you will not have to pee 3 times a day at the "wrong time" for a queue unless you have ungodly bad luck or a bad bladder :p

This is punishment for not waiting for a tank. This doesn't solve the issue of the tank shortage, it misdirects it. Suddenly, the player is getting penalized because there are no tanks around.

Come Tuesday, when the demand for ST is greater, where are we gonna find the tanks? Leveling up Ninja having a grand time.

Darknight is due in the Spring of 15, this is such a lack of foresight. SE released the jobs stats 21% tanks, and they release another dd job first. Its a shame really.

Dark knight is a tank.

It penalizes those tanks that queue up just to instantly drop it and troll a couple of dps who now have to sit in another queue.

I'm fine with it. I hope the lockout time lasts for hours.

Also I should point out again that just having more tank jobs doesn't automatically mean more people will play a tank. There will be people trying out the new job because it's a new job, but by and large you're going to have that same 21% or whatever of players who play tank jobs playing this one, just now they'll be spread over more jobs.

I've withdrawn after 17 minutes of waiting, I'm dps. So it would penalize me too. Just been corrected, that the penalty only applies to Duty Ready. That's ok.

LOL I have lost a que by going afk to bathroom. Many times. But I'm talking about just giving up on trying to get into anything because the wait is over 15 minutes.

Nonono. This is when you withdraw from the Duty READY window. That means that the game has put together a party for you and is just asking you to confirm that you're ready for the dungeon. This isn't about punishing people who un-queue themselves because of a long wait. This is about the people that wait until the party is ready to go and then drop to put everyone else back in queue.

I assume this is why it takes you doing it a bunch of times in a day.

Ah, that's ok then. If its just the Duty Ready window, I won't get penalized much. Thanks for clarification.

As for the currently i90 mythology armor... *something* has gotta drop in the 3 new dungeons. With Snowcloak seeming to be an actual part of the main story quest it seems like it would make since for these pieces to drop there as a part of progression.

Yeah - unfortunately, it will be up to the RNG gods of the 3 chests if you get something you actually need/want haha, and with NIN thrown into the mix, that's a lot of **** to shift through RNG wise.
