Weekly Goals and Accomplishments 11/7 - 11/13Follow

#1 Nov 07 2014 at 8:31 AM Rating: Excellent
Free login weekend begins! No help to those of us who pay months in advance, but meh.

What I would like to do:

1. Finish a book for Bravura
2. Unlock NIN. Not seriously leveling it any time soon, but I want to unlock it
3. Get my first piece of poetics gear.
4. Start running Syrcus Tower as a tank. I'm tired of losing Greed on the tank gear, my healers are now ilvl 100+, and I think my iLvl 90 WAR can probably handle it.
5. Get another level on bard

I did finish up the story for 2.4 - Moenbryda is now my favorite NPC. Love the smart overly attached ones!

Lets see, no coil this weekend for me, so...

1. Finish capping poetics and get my bard ring. Already got the bard boots. Chest is not BiS for grabbing early on, but will eventually be BiS once I can upgrade to ilvl 130. Final coil legs are BiS over poetic legs, so I'll save those for last as well. After ring is belt, then neck and bracelets.

2. With that out of the way, keep leveling the ninja. At 41 as of this morning. Still a long road, but getting closer.

3. Continue to build light. Focus on ST this weekend with my tank so I can pick up sands. At 895 / 2000 light. Slug speed.

4. Maybe join up a shiva ex farm if I'm lucky. All that stuff on Lamia is reserved for these little niche groups isolated in their own little worlds, but one can dream.

Well we got our house, Finished main quest line, finished hildy...
So probably cap tomes.
I think this weekend will me a major crafting weekend trying to make stuff for the house.
Probably start melding and working on getting and crafting higher gear for crafting..

I think after this weekend we look for a FC finally and one that wants to work on ex primals and coil etc. Probably been months now since we left our FC.
Didn't really miss being in a FC, it allowed us too get allot of other stuff done in the game we always wanted too do..
We are the kind of people that if someone needs help we are there.. But sometimes that does not leave allot of time to get other stuff done..
Kind of less stressful too.. We did have people we played with still and helped out, there were a few from our old FC that still chatted with us or helped us or asked for help.. Really you end up missing the people though...

1. Finally get into Sastasha on MNK so I can finish my next-to-last book.
2. Keep levelling WVR, probably moving on to Leves now instead of just grinding the recipe list.
3. Get that last level of SMN to 45, do that and the BLM 45 quest, and gear up for the run to 50 on both.
4. Run CT for the first time.
5. Have a shot at Thornmarch to advance the main storyline.

And I know Catwho is starting on books, so if you or anyone else in The Swarm needs a body for the low level dungeons (not just books, any reason), let me know. I can only DPS or Heal, but I do actually enjoy them all (even Aurum Vale with people who don't suck) and I'll be glad to help reduce your queue time.

Finally unlocked Ninja and it's.. awesome! I really like how it immediately felt different from Rogue with the Ninjutsu and the new animations you get (different run, different jump), and the cool atmosphere of the NIN hideout.

With PLD it was like "Oh hey you're a Paladin now, here's a passive ability you'll barely notice."

ilvl90 War will be fine in ST. I started around ilvl88 with mine. You'll be OT until you gear up. Hopefully your success rate on drops is better than mine. Anywho...
1. Work on Brd books.
2. Run ST on War
3. Level Pld when I'm not doing #1 or #2.

I got back to playing SCH. I just can't keep away from healing it seems. Since I only have items from 2.0 ("af2"+darklight) I used the little soldiery I had on the robe. I went and unlocked all the new dungeons since 2.0 release, but have not played any yet because I want to do it with my friends. We want to explore them without any previous knowledge on what is going to happen or tactics. So that is my next goal. I am hoping that will give me some soldiery/poetics/accessories over time.

I am not quite sure how to get a decent weapon though. Anyone know what a good option would be for me to get an okay weapon? I don't play much and grinding something like a relic is just never going to happen.
#11 Nov 10 2014 at 7:49 AM Rating: Excellent
Yeah I tried it last night. It's pretty face roll easy. Trick is not to wander too far from the healers; almost died once because I got out of range. No drops though!
#12 Nov 10 2014 at 7:49 AM Rating: Excellent
ZAM, please check your double post prevention JavaScript code because it's clearly not working any more.

Might as well use the extra post to say I got BRD to 45, too. About 30 mobs away from finishing my first book. I honestly find that more annoying than the dungeons. They're all low spawn rate mobs in high aggro areas, scattered all over the damn place. Only one that hasn't taken me 15 minutes or more so far was the Magitek Vanguards.

Didn't cap tomes but hopefully tonight...
Got carpentry to 50 from 30.... 99 levequests exactly...
Crafted a bunch of stuff for the house..

Got some melding done on our Crafting jobs..Over melding is a joke... WOW I spent so much money and didn't get my second over meld to stick. Insane SE needs something better than this, worse than atmas...

Overall pretty successful weekend..

I'm not sure how much I will get done this week due to a heavy work week.

This weekend:
Unlocked Expert Roulette again (woo!) [I make an adorable mummy, fyi.]
Got WHM to i100
Finished BRD soldiery gear and got first piece of poetics

Goals:
1. Currently working on doing all hests on my 5 50 jobs (silly, I know).
2. Get Alchemist to 40 (final craft)
3. Get WHM to i105+ (Considering making this my main for this patch)
4. Keep saving up for a house (I want a colored choco!)
5. Poke Nash everytime I see him around the server.

* Done - Snowcloak was a bit trying, but Shiva was relatively easy, and pretty fun too (the Phase 1 theme is good, and the Phase 2 theme is decent, but who the hell decided they went well together, and what was he smoking?)
* Got Trial Roulette unlocked, but not HLDR
* lolno. Did at least get a decent amount though
* ???

Also ran ST for the first time, and did it three times total. Wasn't so bad actually, and made out pretty well loot-wise: 1 UAT, 1 Oil, caster belt (Needed), healer gloves and pants (greeded, and immediately glamored over)

Update:

Valkayree wrote:

Who would think that the week I don't have coil I would down T9 Smiley: oyvey My static's healer was in an FC pug, brought me along, and we two shot it at like 1 am on Sunday morning. I passed on the blm staff and monk coat out of respect. Man am I glad that's over with. Oddly enough, I feel like I could farm it now...

Got boots and ring now. Decided 2 million for the Kirimu hat + 250k to meld accuracy into it for BiS over the 120 poetics bard hat wasn't really worth it for the equivalent of ~3 dex. Decided to save my money until the hat is cheaper on our server (if that ever happens). The way the numbers are working their way out, I think I will get the necklace Tuesday instead of the belt, we will see.

Ninja to 50. And Got lucky in a few ST runs, plus I had some savings, so I geared the left side, added my bards accessories on the right, and it is sitting at ilvl 109. I feel like I do beastly damage, but I haven't been parsed so I'm not sure. My only problem is that there are 5 total DoTs that you can apply, one is the persistent AoE Doton from the Jin Ten Chi Mudra combo, the other is Mutilate, two more are Dancing Edge and Shadow Fang which are 2 and 3 combo presses. It can get hectic keeping them all up, and if that is what you want to do, it is all you will be doing, lol. In addition to the DoTs, you need to balance poisons depending on if you want to stun or silence with jugulate, and you have a very powerful combination in the Huton > Kassatu > Suiton > Trick Attack move, which I have crit for about 1.7k with at its best. Then you have mug and assassinate, which I just rolled into a combo off my Spinning edge starter very similar to how I roll together Heavy Shot, Misery's End, and Bloodletter on my bard. That way I dont have to think about it, but can become a problem occasionally since assassinate animate locks you for a second. The aoe in Doton, Death Blossom, and Katon are pretty powerful, and when combined with invigorate + Goad on your ninja friend (if there are two) to restore lost tp, you can keep it up for a while. There are a lot of possibilities, and I am having trouble keeping up with them all on a controller. I sometimes have some trouble getting out of aoe for trying to keep up my DoTs, but with the increased run speed it is not too bad. Sorry for the rant, just wanted to share my experiences.

932 / 2000 super slug speed. With all the ninja leveling, didn't get much in on my tank other than a few ST. That should pick back up now that the ninja is leveled.

No shiva this weekend. Was occupied with a ton of other stuff unfortunately and really never saw any groups that were posting when I was looking.

Save up 1300 soldiery, obtain an Unidentified Allagen Tomestone and a Sands of Time from ST (two of each drop in every trip) and get yourself an iLvl110 upgraded soldiery weapon. It's probably the easiest decent weapon you can get short of a lucky Shiva Extreme drop.

To be honest, I think a regular relic or Zenith relic for healing usually ends up being just fine.

Xoie mentioned the Unidentified Allagen Tomestone route, which works well too. If you get it without the Sand, the soldiery will give you and ilvl 100 weapon.

As for my accomplishments this weekend, I managed to blow up Limsa Lominsa! Oops. The level 30 rogue quest was a little unclear since I missed the notice that I should go after the detonators.

Ran Syrcus Tower as the main tank last night. This is my punishment for stealing hate all those times as black mage. Karma, man.

But my plan worked, and as the sole tank in the party I walked out with a shiny new head and body last night. I'm wearing the ST body unglamoured because it looks pretty badass with Bravura Atma. I paired it with some vermillion sollerets and some temporary Hoplite gloves.

I've decided to save my soldiery and go the UAT route for my SCH and my WHM, eventually. This is going to hurt since I'm also in the book stage. SAVE UP ALL THE SOLDIERY!

I had a good week ingame.
Managed to cap Poetics 2 weeks now and bought the BLM body. I really like how it looks with a white spring skirt.
Ran Ramuh to clear for a friend and got the BLM ring so yay!
Got my last sand and unweathered my BLM pants and immediately glamoured it to the spring skirt (See above :p)

Tonight I'm going to attempt some Shiva!

Pretty good so far:

1. Done, and despite the wait for the Taken FATE (no, NONE of the FATE chain theories work. It's RNG, pure and simple) finished my last book too. Sphairai Animus {mine}.
2. WVR to 30, very nice progress. Got a manual and enough GC tokens for more, and so I'm about to grind Linen and hit the Linen Chausses Leve next. My goal is now 40 so I can repair more of my main gear.
3. SMN to 46, BLM 2/3 of the way to 46. Once that's done, I'll re-gear and hit the 45 quests.
4. not yet
5. not yet

All in all, excellent progress this week so far.

Leviathan down last night. Can't call it a full Vanguard achievement as we still have two members that need to get it done, but the Water Snake was downed twice so we're confident we can get it done and wrap it up as a open farm.

1. So far have them done on WHM, WAR, and PLD. Still need to do them on BRD and DRG (I shouldn't have waited on the DPS).
2. Alchemist will hit 40 tonight.
3. WHM is at i104 (very close).
4. Work in progress...
5. Nash has not responded to the three times I've poked him this week. I shall press on.

I managed to do everything on my list this week except unlock NIN. After the train wreck of the Naruto ending, I don't want to think about ninja for a while.

I'm in a group that has convinced ourselves that the WTF ending was a narrative feint and that what we saw is definitely not what we actually got and that the upcoming movie will explain what really happened.
