So PVP gear...Follow

I've heard from multiple sources that I should just use PVE gear in frontlines rather than PVP gear. Why is this?

Because Morale does nothing in Frontlines. It's only for the Wolves' Den

Because Morale (the pvp stat) isn't active in frontlines, and frontlines themselves are item level capped to i80.

Basically your pvp gear does nothing in there... just use pve gear, it's itemized better.

If you do use the PVP gear in wolves den, be aware that the item level + morale = PVP wolves den item level

ilvl 70 pants with 15 morale = ilvl 85

Actually Morale does work in Frontlines as of patch 2.4, and the way morale works has also changed. It acts as an item level enhancer for your PvP gear. So, if you have iLvl70 PvP gear with 10 morale, your gear will act as though it were iLvl80.

Frontlines is still capped at iLvl80, however, and morale won't allow you to exceed that limit.

From the patch notes:
Quote:
The effects of the PvP property Morale have been adjusted.

During Frontline or Wolves’ Den matches, Morale has been changed from a property affecting damage dealt and received into one that increases the item level of PvP gear. The increased item level during PvP matches will be the sum of the initial item level and the Morale rating.

Example: If a player equips item level 70 PvP gear that grants a Morale bonus of 15, the item level of that gear will be increased to 85 during PvP battles. If, however, a player joins a Frontline match that is synced at item level 80, the same level 70 equipment would only increase by 10 levels to meet the level cap.
