Weekly Goals and Accomplishments 12/5 - 12/12Follow

Patch week! What do you hope to get done before the next round of content is added?

1. Finish another WAR book. (Seems like almost everyone in our FC did their tank job for relic.)
2. Get PLD up to 35. Gosh I hate this job so much. But it just makes sense to make it my next 50.
3. Get BRD to iLvl90. Since I have failed once again to beat Titan Ex, I'm going to try on yet another job. It's iLvl 85, which is remarkable since it's been 50 for a week. Just need more soldiery accessories.
4. Spam ST for some more sands. I would like to get a UAT weapon for my BRD.

I changed my "zoom to first person" keybind to not be anywhere NEAR my directional running keybinds. T_T Nothing sucks more than trying to get out of a landslide and finding your perspective totally different instead.

Also, I gave up on ST gloves for WAR - someone had put a pair of NQ Heavy Wootz gloves up for 750K, so between that and some Heavens Eye materia, I'm actually content with that slot now.

I took my first person and walk/run completly off my keyboard. After removing them i never had an incident again. Until they make a mechanic that uses either of those i will forever be a marathon runner.

And why dont you like PLD? It's easy to use and has a ton of awesome cooldowns that make you feel like a BOSS. The 123 combo gets stale pretty quick though and wish there was more to it than that.

I'm going to go a bit ambitious and try to get two books done this week. With the new patch coming and advancements to the Relic quest coming, I kinda want to pressure myself to catch up a little, especially as I won't be getting access to the Poetry weapons for a while.

Beyond that, continue to push Poetry as Vanguard continues to clear up raids.

Some more melding for crafting... so I can start making stuff for my mastercraft books but also need weaver too 50....

I plan on a few simple goals.

1. Continue working on new gear (iLvl 120 +) for my Lvl 50 BRD
2. Continue leveling my MNK levels (currently at 37)
3. Continue leveling my MIN levels (currently at 24)
4. Continue to help my wife level her BLM (currently at 42), clear some dungeons, do some story quests, and do some FATEs while doing some of the above

That's pretty much it. I don't care about extreme primals or coil anymore, so I don't really actively pursue those anymore. If I get them, I get them. If I don't, it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Extreme primals and coil, aside from helping my FC-mates, are not what I look for in a game. I just don't have fun doing them. I care more about main story stuff (yes, I know extreme primals and especially coil have some story associated with them :) ). I will continue doing roulettes and CT; those I find fun to do. Any future new extreme primals or raids I will view on a case-by-case basis.

1) Finish Nexus before patch
2) Beat T9!
3) Gear up new 50 NIN.

Not far off Nexus now - around 300 lights I think..wanted to try and get it before patch if they put in the new relic questline.

Preparing for v2.45 on to drop next Tuesday. The next stage of the relic quest intrigues me. As always I hope it involves clear demimateria so I can expand my fortune by selling my cheaply bought stacks, and essentially making that step free for my own relic. But that is just speculation.

Goals:

1. Goal: Maintain 19.25 light per day. Currently at 1490 / 2000 light towards nexus. Almost 75% of the way through the least RNG dependant, but undoubtedly most tedious stage of the relic. Progressing at this pace, I am on track to obtain the nexus just before the new year. New Year's resolution: no more tanking because I have to.

2. Do some t10 this weekend and hope the group is actually good enough to down it. Hoping for some ugly lilac purple gear with wings in my near future.

3. Keep building and capping poetics. After the bard neck and bracelets, I think that I am set for a bit until i can get my hands on some ilvl 130 stuff. Might use it to boost my tank if I can get that nexus soon.

Well Tesee and I both got our forager hats this weekend, only two days not bad. Tesee has been working on hers for a bit so she is about a 1/3 of the way too her Forager's Hatchet.

Got some melding done this weekend.. actually was a pretty successful weekend..
Did a Little on our house, did some beast quest, actually capped tomes..
Lots of spirit binding..

Pleased with my progress this weekend. Picked up nearly 50 a day for three days to end up at 1634 / 2000. On track to hit nexus by Christmas on my new overall average of 20.48 per day. If I really grind out 50 per day like I did this weekend (not likely) I could have it in 8 days.

Man t10 is giving our team trouble. When I'm not in song as bard I'm parsing a steady 380, in song 360. I'm top dps unless our dragoon (who is steady 410) is on board and not backup scholaring. My dps is down because I'm having to sing ballad at 60% leading up into the second adds, which all guides say is a no-no, but we are leading new scholars through every week so we all get destroyed by unmitigated prey and the whm has to overheal as a result. And anytime the whm has to help mitigate prey the tanks die. So yeah we need a capable scholar. On top of that, the team can get through second adds probably 80% of the time, but no one seems to know how to stack for tether. =(

I'm confidant that once the last phase of crystal tower arrives and the carbontwine becomes available, the lvl 130 gear should bolster our abilities. But we should be able to down it now. Really hoping that the new patch does not lift the coil lockout for only full fc teams, otherwise in order to progress I have to build an alt to run Swarm and that is the last thing I want to do. Restricting coil lockouts to FCs is stupid, bottom line. I doubt that half of the coil groups out there are made up of all members from the same fc. I hope it lifts the coil lockout if only one member of the fc is in the group, as opposed to the full team being from the same FC. That would be so much better.

Broke down and bought bard neck after parsing 440 on a dummy and wanting to see how high I could go. After next week will be back up at 900-1000 poetic. May start buying tank gear since the nexus is around the corner.

Managed to (finally) get my first 200 lights, so that was good. I think I need to pick up running ST more consistently than I have been, maybe going to an every-other-night routine.

I finally managed to beat Thornmarch EX! Oddly (or maybe not so oddly), I ended up beating it on MNK. I'm not entirely sure why my other groups were having so many problems, I guess the "leave them at 10%" and "stay out of the middle" instructions were stumbling blocks. Didn't get the drop, naturally, but I finished one EX fight requirement.

I am 13 reputation away from moving Kobolds to Friendly (level 3). I'll get that tonight.

We also have a nice Savage Arc of Triumph that gives us access to our balcony. I found out that if you stand on the balcony railing (or even a fence) and do the bomb dance, you can dance on air.

Got my sand. 13 soldiery, which I'll get from Trials roulette sometime, and BRD has a 110 weapon and is ILvl 90, easily.

That just leaves the bolded PLD to 35. I think I'm up to 33? I'm chipping away at it. Should make it by Friday for sure.

I'm really in kind of a cruise mode at the moment. Gathering Alex from Mysterious Maps (just did my first, not as easy as I expected -- almost ran out of time on the Eye on WHM), 2/75 on Sphairai. Keep running ST for sands, upgrade SCH/WHM with that while upgrading MNK with Poetics. Got my first unweathered weapon -- Book of Diamonds -- and think I'll collect more of those to use while I'm trying to bring Relic up to that level.

At the same time, those equipment upgrades and ST drops are boosting my retainer iLevels. MNK is 90 now and WHM is at 89, but the BLM and FSH have some ways to go yet. Trying to save gil now for the later stages of the Alex infusions.

And keep learning SCH. I'm doing Low Level Roulette on it right now, as that's something that pushes the from-nothing learning curve while still easy enough not to risk damaging anyone else's runs with my learning. I still have no idea how to do crowd control, so Alex maps on SCH is a long, long, LONG way off. But I do enjoy SCH, I must say, and now it's my second highest iLvl at 106 (MNK is 110).

Still pushing on with the storyline, having much fun with it and engaged enough to hate those Ishgard jerks about as much as I hated Tenzen in XI. I'd almost rather be fighting on the side of Iceheart than helping them wipe their noses.

New accomplishment I didn't see coming: finally bit the bullet and rearranged all my MNK macro buttons, and in the process really improved my rotation by making it easier to optimize fully. Seat-of-the-pants ST run felt really, really good.

All of my goals remain the same and probably will with next week's post as well. The only difference is that getting my wife to level 50 will be the number one priority. We really want our characters to get married, and so we need to work on getting her there. :)

I hit PLD 35 last night, meeting the last of my goals, and had the unexpected bonus of CLEARING TITAN EX ON TUESDAY.

Some altruistic end game groups have discovered they can farm soldiery and ponies at the same time by carrying newbies through Ex runs. A group in Lamia has been shouting for free Titan Ex clears. The rules are fair - no LB, you don't lot on ponies, and due to the 1 tank 1 healer setup they are using, the DPS has to be the one to "run out" with the Gaol. 7 players get a nice soldiery bonus and a shot at a pony, and an 8th person gets some practice with a great group and a clear. I won't say I was really carried - my 113 BLM was dishing out mega damage until 5%, when I was finally just a wee bit late in dodging. One of their guys got knocked off by 30%. It's what I had suspected all along - I wasn't always the reason all my previous clear attempts failed.

I've not had many goals the past week. I've mostly been working on stuff for my FC. However, some things of note:

WHM i112 now (when I cap poetics, I should be able to upgrade pants)
I bought my land and house the other night (woo!)
Finally started gathering

Goals:
Get last sand for BRD
SCH 42ish
PLD i99
Start decorating the house
Gardening
MIN 30

I'm already pretty content with what I've done. The rest will just be a little bonus.
