Weekly Goals and Accomplishments 12/19 - 12/25Follow

The latter half of next week is a wash for most of us. But what are you hoping to grind out this weekend?

1. I'm gonna be marathoning ALL THE THINGS to get as many poetics as I can this weekend, since I haven't been able to do any dailies for the last few day.
2. Start another WAR book.
3. Push PLD to 40 this week!

Lots of Mining for me. I want to start furnishing the ground floor of my cottage to the point where it looks passable, and those goals are now within reach.

Getting my Animus spear and start collecting Alexandrite is forefront on my mind. No real raid advancements can be done this week due to the holidays. We just finished a major arc in RPs, so we have causal events until the end of the year, afterwards we'll be reviewing how we do RP events, especially major ones.

The FC is growing, which means we're dealing with more participation for each event. That tends to stretch event times, and we're wanting to rethink things to keep everyone feeling involved. But, that's not this week. This weeks is fairly relaxing for the most part.

Except for the whole event thing. This holiday event is killer if you're wanting to get all the items for your alts.

Got a busy week ahead...

1. Well the only things that stand between me and Excalibur / Aegis Shield are ~3000 soldiery, a 500k mortar, a 500k pounce, 20000 allied seals, and 9 dungeon drops at ~20% each. I'm back up to 4.5 million now from some lucky retainer grabs (waterproof cotton, etc) and a diamond tear from shiva ex, and from selling perfect vellum hq from nq items at a 300% markup (and still the cheapest relic item on the board). So I'm not too concerned about the pounce and mortar, but I would like to see the price drop some more before I buy, so I'm waiting. The 3000 soldiery is just a matter of time, and the 20000 allied seals I can gather really fast from trading the drops in all these dungeons. That brings me to the dungeons... I've been having really bad luck with RNG lately... Hopefully by Christmas I can clear out at least 4 or 5 of these 20% drops.

2. I got invited to an in-game wedding this saturday. Let's see what that minion looks like.

3. T10 again this Saturday / Sunday. 5-7 more collective hours of watching us all beat second adds and someone forgetting to stack for tether.

4. Deliver some packages once a day to get my christmas items.

1. Finish getting 200 more soldiery for the nin body. Done
2. Get a Sands in ST to upgrade it.
3. Grind dailies for Poetics to cap it. Done
4. Do Expert Run every day for a free Alex Map.
5. Use every excess 400 soldiery for a Map.

Gonna need to spend soldiery on it too, since as it now stands i'm looking at 60 more days just to finish my relic with free maps :/

Maybe i should take up tanking some more. PLD (and war to some extend) are technically my Main jobs. But i've been on NIN pretty much always for the last few months in dungeons.

6. Gotta set up a hunt group. Every 200 allied seals is 1 Alexandrite. So that's only like 10 A-rank kills. And they give soldiery too. Every 20 kills gives me enough Soldiery for a map as well. Seems perfect.
7. Socialize. I want more kitty friends. Or just more friends in general. Also need to poke the ones i have more, out of touch with several atleast D:

Well, finally got a Ramuh EX clear. Was starting to drive me nuts seeing it up on my quest list. Quickly took down Shiva EX afterwards and got me some bracelets for my mnk. Got Rogue to 11 and capped Poetics. Now for T7 and beyond through the DF, good times ahead!

Well I had an extremely lucky Saturday in game followed by an abysmally unlucky Sunday. I went 1/1 in darkhold (thank the lord), 1/3 in Brayflox HM, 1/1 in Halatali HM, and 1/1 in Qarn. I also finally got my Stone Vigil HM (1/2 over the weekend) and Aurum Vale (1/1 over the weekend) drops as well. Got a bunch of soldiery as well, purchased all my craft items and bombard cores, and now I am 3 dungeons away (Snowcloak, Lost City of Amdapoor, Sastasha HM) and 1400 soldiery from the Excalibur and Aegis shield. That was by Saturday night.

Now Sunday. 0/4 snowcloak. 0/7 Lost City. 0/7 Sastasha HM. I hate RNG sometimes.

Minion is neat, its like a pretend demon box, but its a spriggan hiding in a present. The wedding was hilarious, everyone got in mumble and added commentary. Groom wore gloves so they covered up the ring. Then they flew off into the sunset like sparkle fairies. Good times.

About 3 hours of wipes, couldn't get past first tether combo, then boom, clean victory on t10. Went on to t11, got to add phase on Saturday, downed add phase on Sunday. Still as a group learning the tethers. Can get adds down pretty well now. All in all not bad on the progress.

Got my snowman minion and my awesome glamourable boots, then once I saw that the decorations were not sellable, immediately lost interest in gathering them.

I got invited to a wedding next Monday at 10AM. I hope I wake up in time.

I'm 250 poetics short of cap. I'm probably not going to make it this week :( That's okay, though. We got my best friend through Crystal Tower last night, so she can unlock ST and we can start spamming that together. Thanks again for the help on those FATES, everyone.

3 Alexandrites into my new shiny Gae Bolg Animus and going strong there.

Mining was effective on the onset, except that soon after, someone flooded the effervescent water market to unrecoverable proportions, only thing to do now is move on and see if there are greener mining sections to go for that I can reach.

'Hyrist', finally got Paladin, which is nice. The slow road for him to get 50 will inevitably unlock the 'kitchen' room for the FC hall.

My goals for this week are already met, and I'm not going to really set any new ones due to the Holidays this week. Time to relax~

I just barely capped Poetics before the reset, and plan to keep that up. WHM/SCH sharing the same gear so I can upgrade both at the same time is awesome. Smiley: grin

Alex is now 11/75, still practicing SCH on Boarskin and doing Alex on WHM at present. I hate Morbols, but me and the chocobo handle the fight OK. Bit concerned about dps, though, I've cut some of them way too close on time. Going to keep pushing this hard.

My FSH retainer is now in XIV range, although she hasn't brought back anything cool yet. Working on upgrading my rod so I can push my retainer that last bit to XV.

Probably going to start on another craft soon, just haven't decided which one yet. I'm planning to get them all to 50 before I minmax the gear and rotation, just so I have all the abilities available before I try for HQ 2-star.

Speaking of abilities, I need to level a few other classes from 15 up a little to pick up some cross-class, particularly stuff like Mercy Stroke and Quelling Strikes. Might make a start on that this week too.

And having a lot of fun with the daily Roulettes and spamming ST, no reason to stop that. (Catwho, if you all want some MNK company in ST when you're on, it would be delightful to join you. Or for dungeons, roulettes, or FATEs for that matter. As long as I slip in my Alex map for the day, I'm happy.)

Was a big day yesterday (12/23).

Went 1/1 on my Snowcloak drop and 1/3 on the Sastasha HM drop and scooped up about 350 soldiery (200 off of a castrum main story roulette run with a new player bonus), completed the final steps and I picked up my Excalibur and Aegis Shield! After going 0/17 on Snowcloak and 0/15 on Sastasha HM, this was cause for celebration! So I celebrated by buying a Wootz Cuirass to glamour over my poetic chest piece. Dyed weapon and shield jet black, went afk in Mor Dhona to simultanous fanfare Smiley: grin, turned heads, some nice tells, and some stares of intense jealousy Smiley: glare. Thanks to Kat and Illsaide for running a few of those Snowcloaks with me the other day so I could change it up and DPS and not have to wait 30 hours for queue.

But even on Lamia, I'm not nearly the first to zodiac. Not by a long shot. It must be nice to play from 8am-5pm, then again from 5pm-12am, every day, all day. I remember life before job... Sadly we didn't have cool stuff like FFXIV back then. We barely had Phantasy Star Online. Boo.

Off topic, but not really since it contributes to an awesome day. Opened the gifts a bit early. Bought my wife and kid a ton of cool, but I got 2 boxes of the Walking Dead Season 3 for myself because I am a huge fan. Huge fan. Not like, come back from an unescorted Georgia tour of the abandoned Terminus set to go directly to Comicon and dress like a zombie and stand in line to rub Norman Reedus' chin beard fan, but a really big fan nonetheless... Well, I have to say, never have I been so lucky! Got a Danai Gurira (Michonne) autograph, a Stephen Yeun (Glenn) autograph, and somehow managed to beat the 1:288 hobby pack odds to pull a 1/1 sketch card from artist Sam Hogg. Its actually drawn on the card itself, is signed by the artist on the back, and is now one of the coolest collectibles I own. And I looked, in comparison to some of the other artists in the set, this guy is really, really good! And that is coming from someone who is married to one of the best pencil and pen artists I've ever known. But in case you are wondering what the card looks like, I only have potato cell phone quality images atm, so I looked up the artist and he posted pictures of the cards he drew for the set (I know its deviantart but the link is SFW). Mine is the card of Maggie's character (second from the left) aiming the rifle. Rockin. More inheritance ammo for the kiddo one day.

Awesome Valk! Congrats, that's a huge achievement.

I just hit 40 PLD. I don't think I'll be getting my current WAR book done.... never got around to the last Stone Vigil I needed.

I was 50 short of poetics cap last week, but I should be able to easily cap this weekend. Saving up for my first piece of big girl healer gear. I really like the look of the ironworks healing coat.

That poetic headgear for the healers looks amazing btw...

Due to a very last minute "don't come visit us we're all down with the flu" from my sister in law, I did in fact finish my WAR book today and already knocked out the FATEs for the next one.

Kind of lame that Christmas has been delayed until NYE for them, but when even the 2 year old is sick, having company over is the last thing a family needs to deal with. Smiley: frown

For once I have no idea what I'm getting for Christmas from my husband. I got unreasonably excited earlier when he insisted on taking along the PS3 and packed it up, as there is no PS3 at his sister's house... because if he's giving away my PS3 it means I'm getting a PS4....right? RIGHT?!

Then I remembered he knows I got him Denkenki Bunkyo Fighting Climax as one of his presents, and he probably wanted to make sure he could play it right away. Smiley: lol

Moot point now since we're sitting at home derping around online instead of visiting.

Well, lets see...

The Good:
- Capped Poetics.
- Need 52 more Alexandrites.
- Attended a really cute wedding between two girls i know and got a nice box out of it as well.
- Finished getting all the christmas stuff
- Got a good amount of profit selling old event stuff.

The Bad:
- Failed pretty horribly at getting maps through Soldiery or Allied Seals. Just too slow.
- No one was doing hunts anymore or was interested in forming (scouting) groups for me to get those Allied Seals.
- I -was- getting a good amount of profit selling old event stuff. People were buying them for 10k around 12 times a day according to the history. That is untill someone who didnt understand basic marketing put 8 of them up for 1k. I bought them all up since one sale from me would make me more than even, but before a new one could sell he simply put another 8 of them up for 1k. Didnt want to give him the satisfaction, so i crashed the market for it completely. Oh well.

Unrelated:
- Bought myself Diablo III as a couch co-op game and have been enjoying it with friends. It's easy to get into, easy to play and kinda gauntlet-ey. Surprisingly supports up to 4 players locally, and you can even go online and play with others if you havent reached your quota of players.

Ending the mystery: I got my print of Diego Rivera's "Cala Lily Vendors" framed for Christmas. Custom framing of art posters ain't cheap, yo. Not a PS4, but I'm totally fine with that.
