Quick Explorations for Dye?Follow

A while back most people (myself excluded) got some Metallic Gold Dye as compensation for a coding error that prevented it from being found in Quick Explorations. Now seeing as the compensation was quite hefty, i was expecting it to be quite common. But even with a i90 Retainer i cant seem to get even a single piece of dye out of the pool of items.

How are you guys faring? Do i need a super high ilevel for it to be possible?

I have gotten dyes (including 2 more Metallic Gold) from Quick Explorations when my retainers (DoW and DoM if that makes any difference) were below ilvl 90.

I think the issue is that there are just so many items possible with Quick Explorations that the chance of getting a dye (or any particular item) is low.

The other issue is they increased the amount of **** items you get and decreased the good items/removed some rare ones. For example prior to the "nerf" you could get a lot of good items, lots of 2 star items at a decent rate, but not so inflated it hurt the economy - Yoshi didn't like that. Now it's fish most of the time.

So yeah any QE works, the rare ones MAINLY, but any. I got Gold Dye from under i90 a few times yesterday so it's definitely possible.

I just got a couple of pots of Pure White dye again yesterday.

I haven't been running any stats against what they bring on Quick Explorations, but a ballpark guess would be about 1-2% for any given dye.

I play pretty much every day, have two retainers at ilv 90+ who run quick explorations every hour on the hour when I'm on, they burn through probably 40-50 ventures a day. The other two retainers are on permanent XIV fieldcraft ventures, because minecart and floss silk...

I've pulled in maybe 20 gold dye, 36 silver, 36 pure white, and 30 jet black. The frequency was definitely higher prior to when they fixed the gold dye glitch, but I still get them on occasion. I'm still sitting on about 20 of each atm.

The metallic red, green, and blue are mog station only, for $1 per pot. Havent got a single one from a venture (yet).

While it's frowned upon, can safely say the new metallics aren't in the QE loot table (client side you can see what's possible, just no % so you can see the items masked out.)

Regardless though 2.5 may introduce new ways.

Right before my hiatus began in November I got some gold from an i80. Since I couldn't sell it, I tossed it in storage with the the free gold from the error. I was only doing about four runs a day then (I was getting so much fish that it wasn't worth the seals to buy ventures), so I suppose I got lucky.
