Weekly Goals and Accomplishments 2/13 - 2/19Follow

It's Valentione's weekend, so plans may be thin for a few of us. Still, what do you hope to do?

Weekend: In Savannah. Will do some crafting at best. (We're getting my sister in law's house, in exchange for dog sitting, while they take the family to Dahlonega.)

I am going to drink so much beer.

Next week: Run ST at some point for weekly, cap poetics. That's about it.

New Goals for this coming week:

Going over to visit my girlfriend for Valentines so the goal for Saturday is to not log into the game that day at all. >.>

Sunday I should still be over there, and on my PS3, so I'm going to take advantage of the lower resolution and get some mining done on Lin.

Monday night will be a Crystal Tower Marathon for my upgrade item for Lin. I'm thinking a ring so I can double up and meet accuracy cap, I'm noticing I'm missing some on content so that bothers the heck out of me.

PvP Progress will resume on Tuesday, though I'll be alternating it with FATEs from Lin to get Alexandrite and Gil to continue working on Relic.

One night this week I'd like to grab a few friends and get my dungeons unlocked for Eric, and used the tomes to unlock a ilvl110 weapon for him, which will be about all I need to get him to be ilvl for WoD and current dungeons.

I'm expecting not to get anything FFXIV-related done this week. Starting my new job at a law firm (5 minutes from my house, yay) on monday, and there's still valentine this weekend.

Even without that, i finished my Excalibur and my Aegis last week, so all i have left to do are Hunts for Carbontwine and obtaining the 1000 AS black limsa armor for glamouring.

I for one welcome the relaxing time i will spend on FFXIV in my garden sitting by the campfire.

Other than the normal, cap tomes:
I am going to get the supra for Blacksmith this weekend.
I am going to craft Tesee her artisan offhand for Carpenter. My guess is she will also work on her carpenter supra then and master book 2 for carpenter.
As I get sealants I am crafting other off-hands for myself. Demateria has been holding us back for supras and masterbook 2.. Been really hard to get.
Desyth reminds me of crafting in FFXI but slightly better because of far less RNG in actual leveling. Goes so fast at first though.
Since we finished up one set of dungeon for the the relics it is time to craft the turn in items and start the next set of dungeons. So we are on the last 2 of the quest for this phase of the relic..
This is the last phase out for the relic so far is this correct?.

Might start again trying to work on the rest of the primals.

Got a nasty burn on my hand last night while blending extremely hot cooked beans into a paste in a NutriBullet and not taking the resulting pressure into account while opening. Stupid me. My hand is hurt, but my Rick Grimes shirt and the kitchen wall caught most of the beans or else I would have been dealing with a much worse situation. Thank you officer friendly Smiley: grin

But fortunately, close access to cold water, aloe with lidocaine solution ,gauze dressing and a compression wrap, medical training, and the ability to endure an incredible amount of pain all ensured that I have my skin in tact. I think it could have easily been second degree had I waited two more seconds to get it under cold water and get the hot stuff rinsed off. I should have this hand wrap off by tonight and back in business by tomorrow, Valentine's day withstanding.

My goals for the weekend / week

Weekend:
1. At 1530 / 2000, 2 drops in 32 dungeon runs. AK and Brayflox out of the way. Hoping to keep up at least 76.5 light a day.
2. Run hunts for a carbontwine to plop on my bard boots.
3. Run ST and CT and get the carboncoat.

Next Week:
1. Monday try to see more of phase 3 in t12.
2. Wednesday beat T10-T11. Hoping for some blm stuff. Bard is all set.
3. Cap poetics, buy tank stuff, do tower quest for carboncoat, get WoD item.
4. Keep pushing light and dungeons to get yoichi for more versatility.

Just got my Animus done this afternoon. Need to farm up a bit more soldiery (wasn't prepared for them to ask for 750 soldiery right away) and then start the alexandrite farm.

Amal'ja should be done tomorrow.

Still need a WoD drop for the week.

Here's how to have a perfectly geeky Valentine's Day in Savannah:

1. Start with Wormsloe Historic Site. Many movies have been filmed at its famous mile long live oak avenue.
2. Head to Southbound Brewery for a tasting. (Skip this if you've got the kids with you and go to River Street instead.)
3. Sober up enough to navigate downtown Savannah parking, and then wander through the historic squares. (If you really want to drink more beer, you can grab a "traveler" and drink freely as you walk from park to park.)
4. Have a dinner at The Pirate's House. Even this city's tourist traps are genuinely drenched in history.
5. Wander around the squares some more. Last year we stumbled across a preacher doing a mass vow renewal for married couples, and we joined in.

Had to cut our evening short since we're dog sitting in exchange for getting the lake front vacation home.

And now, I can video game for a few hours again. Smiley: grin

Blacksmith supra done, I more item needed for master book.

Made foragers offhand for Miner.

Made two artisan off hand for Tesee and one for a friend.

Started for my supra for Miner and also started farming for the Lucis at the same time.

Crafted items for second quest last phase for relic.
Both Tesee and I got our drop from Amador keep for relic for the 3rd quest for last phase of relic.

Lots of spirit bonding.

Surprisingly, even though I burned the crap out of myself, quick action literally saved my skin. Spent a lot of time this weekend going after nexus.

Weekend Update:

1a. Ground out 470 light over three days and got the bard Nexus on Monday Smiley: grin

1b. Currently 7/51 on zodiac drops overall. 13.7%. AK, Brayflox, WP, SV, Pharos, Haukke, Tam Tara all out of the way. 0/5 on AV, 0/2 on DD Smiley: frown

2. It seems that I can gather 5700 allied seals overall and see only 2 log drops. Also, S ranks are doomed to spawn when I am in dungeons, apparently. So I am about 300 seals shy from upgrading the boots at the moment. Spent a good deal of my weekend light seeking.

3. Carboncoat acquired. Will use next week on another piece of tank accessory. All seals from hunts from this point forward (after bard boots) go to tank I guess.

4. K so the whm that ran with us the last 2 weeks whose off-spec was also caster, and lotted against me last week and won the caster coat from T11 decided to quit the game and delete his character the very next day Smiley: mad Smiley: motz Smiley: deadhorse. So not only did we (again) find ourselves training a new healer, but I could have at least made better use of the coat than tossing it into the aether... Want... to.... snipe... So yeah, maybe next week.

XYZ. Found myself spending a ton of money and a lot of my sanity this weekend, but at the end of the day I had acquired the lucis main hand for blacksmith, and then obtained the master book II. Crafted an hq wootz axe just because. Its up for sale atm, but it will be my new warrior axe glamour if it doesn't sell in a few days. I am working on getting the master book 1 for all the crafts. Was down on funds quite a bit, but then the blue bird sold for 2.7, so I'm back into breathing territory again.

I managed to get 3 dungeon drops (Haukke HM, DD, and AK) for my PLD relic stage. Several AV resulted in nothing, and I have always hated that dungeon.

Finished atma gathering for my Thyrus and then did the first book on it. Second book is bought. It has me going to, you guessed it, AV. At least I'll get one benefit when I run that again.

Finished the beastmen quest line that opens up after you get all of the tribes to individually love you. I now have the cool eyepiece that's going to be used in glamors.

I finally got enough hunt seals to upgrade my chest piece on PLD. It's now ilvl 121.

I picked away at crafting. With the I'xal daily quests, I should be able to get at least one of my remaining crafting jobs to 50 by the end of the week. Or I can continue to spread them out and get them all in the 48/49 range.

How hard was the crafted item for the lucis?
40 durability... Don't look like it would be too bad..
Lucis for my blacksmith is probably next.

Haha, was a lot less risky than the master book II that is for sure. I did mine with the artisan's offhand and the supra, with the craft/control II FC buffs on and HQ Bouillabaisse for that CP. I was at 380 CP and something like 455 craft and 410 control after all buffs (I think).

Comfort Zone, Inner Quiet, Steady Hand II, Hasty Touch x 3, then Masters Mend I, making sure to pop every Tricks of the Trade proc in between. When 1 comfort zone stack is left, pop CZ.

When ~100 CP is left after the Master's Mend (and you are at 40 durability), go ahead and roll into your finisher. Steady Hand, Ingenuity II, and Great Strides, then Byregot's. Then there should be 3 stacks of Ingenuity II up, so you can careful synthesis II three times to craft the item. Ingenuity II MUST be up to complete the craft with 3x CSII. If you want, you can fluctuate and toss in a CSII before the Byregot's to try to trigger a good or excellent, which if you have 10+ stacks of IQ pretty much guarantees the HQ. That is up to you.

You do NOT want to reclaim on this craft. Make the NQ item always, you can go back and return the NQ item to Talan in Mor Dhona and he gives you the lions share of your materials back. The only thing I was out on were the clusters (which I lose anyway) and the low cost item (in my case ferberite). Losing a few 2k ferberite was worth the 10% chance of losing everything. If you break the craft you are out 1800 gc seals and a 10k sheelite (in my case) in addition, and that sucks when you have to make 20 of these things HQ.

I probably HQ'ed about 30-40% of my attempts. its not nearly as risky as that master book II craft.

Thank you for the info.. That dont sound too bad, I think the worst part is the GC seals.. So 3 careful syth II to get progresses full with ingenuity II, good to know. I like to sometimes throw ingenuity and innovation in my killzone? did you try that to see if it makes a difference?
I also have supra and the artisan offhand so our stats should be pretty close...

What did you do to get all the moonstones and composite whetstones used in that recipe? That is 36,000 GC seals just for whetstones. There is also sheelite, which was 2000 gil on our server and I should have bought, it is now way up... I might do the Ixial beast-quest that gives a moonstone.

You know what is funny my first master book 2 the first item I made I got 100 percent on the quality.. I was like this aint to hard. LOL Then the next was like 23 percent but it still went HQ...

Anyway thanks for the tips.. Your tips are always very useful and appreciated..

Had the most painful AV run last night (I think we finished with less than 15 minutes left), but I got the completion for my Thyrus and the drop! Still, I wouldn't want to repeat that run.

As I discovered last night while finishing off Blacksmith to 50, composite whetstones drop substantially in the "I'd Rather Be Digging" levequest.

My achievements this week seem to be outstripping my goals before I can barely set them. If this keeps up, I can't even imagine what I'll get done this week.

I've never tried innovation. Simply no room for it if I want to include reclaim. Also, it only increases control by 50% for the next three steps for everything prior to the IQ stacks. So it is beneficial for someone who has 400 control to want to boost 200 control to add to the byregot's, but that is it. Can you imagine if it added 50% post IQ? with 10 stacks I sit close to 2000 control, so that would be +1000, lol. They wouldn't make it THAT easy! I wish...

Anyway, GC seals are simple. Just craft a bunch of 1 star stuff, normal quality, and turn it in for 633 seals each. Since I have ltw and have run a ton of XIV, XV, and XVI retainer ventures, I have a lot of hippgryph skin HQ lying around. I just buy some black alumen, make a bunch of the hippogryph leather, and use that to make a bunch of militia chokers NQ (takes 5 seconds per craft), and turn them in for 633 each. 3 chokers gets me enough for one of the 20 items needed for lucis turn-in. That is how I bought all my composite whetstones...

Now the moonstones... Daily ixali beast quest fro 20 days. I needed to level it anyway. But they are 4000 gc per stone. 6-7 militia chokers per moonstone, if you need them faster.

Thanks for the kind words, and yes that master book 2 is filled with RNG. Even more than atma or dungeon zodiac drops.

Lin and Hyrist both have their respetive WoD Drops now and Hyrist is nearing Rank 25 in PvP.

I'm 26/75 for Novus Alexandrite/Materia wise, and am starting to get back on board with my RP goals.

This week turned out fairly well. Now tomorrow if I can get some dungeons done for Eric I'll be ecstatic!

Nope. Finished a day early. The melds were a ton of fun too.... 60% success rate = 7 failures in a row.... sounds right.

Started the light farming. Truckin along.

Got the twine. Upgraded the boots. Now all I need is bard pants from T12, chest from 13, and weapon from 13 and I am BiS bard. Problem is that I'm stuck on T12.

5. Beat T10-T11 last night. Didn't get any drops, nothing dropped that was caster or bard (but I'll pretty much pass on all T10-11 bard stuff now). Got a new scholar that used to coil with a certain web browser that will not be mentioned, but the dude knows his stuff and is spot on with everything. I like it. Team wants to coil three days a week to get T12 out of the way.

6. Poetics will be capped this weekend. Tank necklace is next. Have 1 carboncoat, all I need is CT and I have the 2nd. WoD item was caster pants (aka skirt). Sucks because caster coat dropped off of the final boss in that very same run. Ah well, maybe next week.

7. Currently 7/53 on zodiac drops overall. 13.7%. AK, Brayflox, WP, SV, Pharos, Haukke, Tam Tara all out of the way. 0/5 on AV, 0/2 on DD, 0/4 on Copperbell HM Smiley: frown Stuck on my 3 least favorite dungeons.
