I'm upgrading my bravura atma and I've just started on my first book. In doing skyfall I. I did all of everything up to the leves. When going to the leve masters they each gave me a trial leve which according to ffxiv.gamerescape seems impossible. For the first leve from the leve master in camo bluefog, it lists mobs that not only spawn from other leves but are labeled extinct as if they're not in the game anymore. From the second levemaster in coerthas highlands it gives me about 5 mk s to kill from a trial leve but they also spawn from other leves given by the same guy. How can I start these other leves while these are already active? Is the wiki on ffxiv.gamerescape .com wrong or am I just dumb?

I didn't quite follow all of that, but it sounds like you just haven't unlocked guildleves ... anywhere.
So the first time you visit a town with a Levemete in it, he'll be offering a quest that unlocks guildleves in that town or camp. When you accept the quest it starts a guildleve. You complete the leve, hand it in, and now you have access to normal guildleves at that levemete.
In case it's been a bazillion years since you've done a guildleve, here's how it works.
1: Accept the levequest from the levemete
2: Go to the green-marked area on your map
3: Click the levequest in your duty list OR select it from your quest journal
4: Hit the Initiate button and select a level for the levequest.
5: Do whatever the levequest wants you to do
6: Once you're done with all your objectives, you'll be given the option to teleport immediately back to the levemete to hand it in. If you have more than one to do in the same area, probably hold off on this until you're done with everything so you aren't having to run back each time.
7: Talk to the levemete and click "Collect Reward"
8: Profit
Keep in mind that the books also contain grand company levequests that'll be given to you by a different levemete than the normal levequests.

Ok cool, I knocked out the trial levequest but he still isn't offering the leve I need for the book. Do I need to do these other ones first before he offers them?

Each levemete carries 6 levequests, but only offers 4 of them at any one time. So if the one you want isn't being offered, do one of the others first and see if it pops up.

Do just one, and then check the list again. The one you need should be there after that.

So when I get a leve from a fc commander (like the guy from immortal flames in saint coronach) I have to do that fc's leves and hunting log to level up to even be offered the leve I need?

No, but those guys only offer 2 of the 4 leves they carry. So if they aren't offering the one you need, do one of the others and see if they do. I recommend using a site like xivdb.com to check exactly which GC the leve you need belongs to.

He doesn't offer me any leves. He says "I have no words for those not yet the rank of chief sergeant". And he's a chief flame sergeant but xivdb says it's a maelstrom levequest that he issues. So confused.. lol

You can get Grand Company leves for all 3 Grand Companies, not just the one you belong to. However, you may need to raise your GC Rank. IIRC, to do that, you have to complete GC hunt logs and/or complete certain optional dungeons.
Edit: I should also clarify that even though the NPC is an Immortal Flame, he will give out GC Leves for all 3 GCs.
