hi guys
i am returning from a long break. i am currently trying to level up ninja and i believe i am suppose to do the moogle king fight.
is it easy to catch up on content? i just wanna follow the story.
i have whm, war and pld all at 50 albeit with **** gear.
would the duty finder suffice for my needs?

If you unlock all the new 50 dungeons as the story asks you to, you can gear up to iLvl 100 via them. This is sufficient for all 2.55 story content. You'll also want to unlock the Labyrinth of the Ancients sagas for that part of the story, and World of Darkness there drops iLvl 120, which is the current intro endgame gear.

Yes, you can DF all the story dungeons easily. There are still plenty of people running all that stuff.

With your heals and tank you can spam the three raids and gear up your NIN quickly. The only thing you can't catch up on fast is relic progression.

The funny thing is that for World of Darkness, he would probably get in much faster as NIN than he would as tank!

Another question: am I right to assume that Heavenward story continues from 2.55 i.e. for the story to make sense I need to at least finish the main storyline until then?

Yes, and you can't proceed into it at all until you've completed through 2.55

It is easy to catch up. I'm not 50, but I've had no problems jumping back into the fray. And if server population health is of any concern, I've been stuck in queue a few times because Lamia gets full lol.
