Plans for HeavenswardFollow

I was just wondering what everyone's goals or plans were for heavensward. I think that it is fun to see how everyone plans to attack a new expansion plus it gives me an idea about how I should go about it. Unfortunately I am the type of person who will make plans and as I play I keep changing what I want to do until I find myself spread so thin that I get behind lol. This would be easier if I was in a raid and knew what role I was but I'm not in one and still looking for one so it's pretty tough.

Basically I was maining drg till static broke, this static took me from t1 to a t5 win, then I switched to pld and the next static broke, this static took me from t6 to turn 9 win and down to 3% on t10 (always great statics with alot of progress but ppl are always late or dont show up so people quit, my luck sucks lol). So that leaves me sitting on ilvl110 drg and ilvl128 pld. Without a raid I am a little directionless lol. My current plan was to first enjoy the story at a leisurely pace maxing out either pld first since it it the highest (plus I want to main drk if I can play it well) or drg since dps jobs are harder to get dungeons for (long ques). Depending on my first choice I will level the other second and max it out at a faster pace then work on a healer. That way I can have a tank dps and a healer leveled and be ready to take on anything a raid might need me for. But as you can see I am already torn between should I lvl pld first or a dps first lol. I already see myself spreading myself thin between the two in the beginning haha.

Sorry if all that was tmi I just wanted to give everyone a sense of where I am coming from. Basically I said all that to say this, I am trying to come up with a solid plan on how I should attack the expansion and I am curious what you guys have planned for the expansion and how you guys stay focused on the plans you have. Any advice or experience would be appreciated or you could just say what you are looking forward to most if you don't have a set plan. Even if you don't plan to raid I still want to hear what you plans are so please let me know. Smiley: smile

I'm still debating the best course of action myself, but I think I want to start on the MSQ and unlock Astrologian first thing. Then probably run that through all the older content to get a feel for the abilities one at a time (since if it's starting at level 30, I'll be overwhelmed doing something like Haukke Manor.)

After I have Astrologian at 50, I'll see about working through more of the MSQ and exploring other content. I have an iLvl 125 bard, but if I love astrologian I'll work on gearing up my three healers first. If I hate astrologian, I'll focus on getting bard through the MSQ and use that to progress to level 60.

My plans for preparing for Heavensward are pretty simple...I currently have Bard, Monk, and Fisher at 50, so I want to get as many of the other jobs and classes as I can to 50 before the expansion. I'm getting all the DoW/DoM classes to 30 first so I can at least unlock the jobs, and then I'll go from there. DoH/DoL will come after them. I also want my Bard to at least get the Poetics bow; I don't really care about upgrading relic much. I also want to finish getting Poetics gear for my Bard; shouldn't be too hard. I'm caught up as far as the story goes.

When the expansion comes out (starting with Early Release), I plan on leisurly taking my time through the story, enjoying it to the fullest without rushing through. Same thing with exploration...I plan on taking my time exploring new lands without rushing to unlock all the zones and maps. I first plan on leveling Bard to 60, then I plan on leveling Astrologian first among the new jobs since I like what I see so far of it, but I may switch to Machinist depending on how much I end up liking it. I also want to create an Au Ra alt, though I don't know what class. Probably archer. In the meantime, I will start to level up my other jobs to 60, including those that I didn't manage to get to 50 before the expansion.

Again, all of the expansion stuff will be done at a slow, leisurely pace so I can fully enjoy it all. :)

Minor plans.

I want to keep my PLD up to date till it's released. I dont do anything Endgame with it, but i have an excalibur and everything. Just need to replace my i120 with i130 gear. I'll use that to explore the new content.

When it's released, Dark Knight will be my thing. I just dont have a lot of time to play due to work. Hopefully i'll be able to plan it all in by then.

Assuming that I've finished the Witcher III by then, I'll unlock the three new jobs and play with them a bit. Then work on the main story, probably using either DRG or BRD to do it. Long term, I'll want to get all the crafting and gathering jobs recapped and geared out. Again, this all depends on how far I am with the Witcher III, because I'm not going to be playing anything else until I've played the hell out of that game.

I'm not terribly interested in the new jobs, at least based on initial impressions.

My focus will be primarily on getting my existing ones to 60 unless that changes after actually seeing the new jobs in action. I will still eventually level the new ones regardless, simply because I'm that "level everything" sort of person.

Yeah I am feeling the same way about DRK. Only difference is I have max level gear for pld so I could transfer over pretty easily. Definitely plan on taking MSQ at a leisurely pace since yoshi-p was kind enough to give us a couple weeks to get it done before alexander drops. Probably going to level my drg via MSQ and level drk outside of that starting at lower level dungeons same as you expressed.

Given the 1 month barrier on actual end-game content, seeing how they retuned old 1.x skills that's no doubt being readding and seeing what these "large scale" FATEs are to see if it's something like PSO2's Duel Emergency Quests or the Mining Colony defense type of Quest (something with numerous phases and requiring actual cooperation to properly succeed in.)

I wont level the new jobs but I will unlock. With the heavy rush of NINs I don't enjoy levelling them with everyone else.

Will how ever unlock everything and overall do bits and pieces of the new content. Think my main priority after that would be the story and levelling all jobs to new cap.

I've got a loose plan:

1. Become the Au'ra
2. Unlock the Machinist.
3. Level that to 60.
4. Level Bard / Paladin up in tandem.
5. Use bard and paladin zeta to speed into the new relic type weapon.
6. Work on the FC airship
7. Complete the new story / Dungeons
8. Look into the new primals and Alexander.

The rest will work itself out.

Rough list of priorities, some of which entirely depend on getting a 3.0 static.

1: NIN to 60, Unlock all the things.
2: Gear treadmill to get ready for Alexander.
3: Unlock new jobs, try them out during downtime.

If I don't end up with a static, then playing new jobs jumps up a bit. Otherwise I fully intend to stab Alexander in the face.

Verdha: level MNK to 60, level WHM to 60. Gear up mightily.
Waenlona: level SCH to 60, level all DoM to 60. If any of the new jobs classify as DoM (I presume Astrologian will?) then unlock and level that too; that will be an interesting IC hook.

And in both, do as many quests and missions as the job level at the time allows.

- Use either brd or nin to go through the main story (basically lvl to 60 with quests)
- meanwhile level pld, war and whom through dungeons (easy queue time so 60 will be easy)
- once main storyline has been completed probably unlock drk and astrologian to get them to 60
- during downtime: lvl dragon, black mage and monk and old content such as crystal tower and coil (I haven't done any of those - I play way too casually)
