Note: I haven't finished the story yet. I am past Garuda to give you some idea where I am without spoiling anything.

I have the full BLM set(body was replaced immediately by a vanya robe of casting).

I got everything unlocked up to Aurum Vale.

So yeah, kind of lost here in this new uncharted territory.

Right away: Start A Relic Reborn. This starts in Vesper Bay and leads you to Hyrstmill. You won't be able to do the whole thing at once, but do what you can when you can and you end with an i80 weapon (i90 with a small soldiery investment). That'll get you started.

Second: Your priority is to finish the main story through 2.55. You have a month to do it and you aren't done with 2.0 content yet currently. This will require some gearing up, but you can do it as you go.

Last: Unlock all the things. Most of the things are gated behind 2.0 story completion, but once that's done you'll see Mor Dhona as a festival of quest markers. Unlock dungeons and complete them as you unlock them, this will also help gear you up. All through this you should be buying i100 soldiery gear (minus the bit for your relic). You'll have hard mode dungeons to open up as well at the CT raid series. The CT series is kind of a long initial unlock, so just be prepared for that.

That Said, once you've done your unlocks, CT will be your fastest way up the loot chain, giving you a quickly repeatable method of gaining the ilvls you'll need to unlock all the higher ilvl dungeons that will get you through the story and open up your roulettes.

The routine should be:

- Get a Relic Zenith (ilvl 90 weapon, which will be fine for you to unlock other content with.)
- Do your Daily Storyline Roulett (quick Soldiery which will help you up the ilvl chain, prioritize getting inexpensive right side gear, then move to the left as your right will eventually get replaced with poetic as you aquire it.
- Unlock dungeon as they become available.
- Grind for tombstones/seals. CT runs are good for their time investment as you've got a shot at gear, and a flat 100 tombstones per run. Other routes will either give you less tombstones or no chance at effective individual routes, and as a DPS, this will be easier to get into than cherry picking dungeons.

- When you get to Syrcus tower, secure yourself an Unidentified Tomestone and a Sands of Time, and reserve 1300 soldiery for 10 Roena's Tokens of Soldiery, these will net you an ilvl110 weapon that should carry you through the story without difficulty. (Upgrade gear in Hyrstmill)

The goal here is to get at least ilvl90 average ilvl with a better weapon. That will give you everything you need to get through the story, which will unlock Heavensward for you. That should be your ultimate goal at this point as everything else will be transitory.

Before anything else you need to complete the main story up through the Praetorium dungeon. Pretty much all other level 50 content is locked behind that.

Actually, after beating Praetorim, wouldn't the best use of time be to spam hunts?

Doing hunts in a hunt party, you'll rack up soldiery and allied notes. You can use the allied notes to very quickly get level i100 armor, and you can use the soldiery to get an i100 weapon that can be easily upgrade to i110. Then you could do pretty much all other content and jump straight into poetics farming for i120/130 gear.

That depend entirety on the activity of his server as far as hunts go. Right now, Blamung's in a slump. We got some hardcore holdouts but finding them consistently can be a real problem, and Balmung boasts some of the wider Glamour diversity and overall player activity in the game NA wise. (RP server and whatnot). So I'm kinda hesitant to make a call to say "Sure, go do hunts, you'll get plenty of Soldiery."

He's probably better off spamming dungeons or CT at that rate.

Famfrit is a small server compared to Lamia where I transferred from(Lamia is high pop for sure), but it seems from the amount of shouts I see, that hunts are easily accessible.

I already completed MSQ praetorim and viewed the end credits, etc, and bought my first i100 necklace(the right side was always a priority even before I hit 50. This side seems to be suffering from lack of drops/acquisition, unless you level GSM high up).

Kind of excited really. Seeing my character improve now, after the slog through the 40s. And I really do need a better weapon..

It really depends on what you prefer.

If you want speed and a better iLevel, just grind hunts and buy the i110 soldiery.

If you want more of that Final Fantasy feeling of beating up baddies and finishing a quest, get the i90 zenith, then start unlocking all the dungeons. You'll probably get enough soldiery for an i100 weapon pretty quickly anyway.

I wouldn't waste soldiery on gear, though... just do some hunts and get i100/110 gear that way. It's so much faster. Before you know it, you'll be running WoD and farming poetics for i120 gear.

I actually totally forgot about Hunts because I find them just boring as hell, but yeah it's probably a more efficient way to gear up. It doesn't unlock anything though, which you'll still have to do.

Don't forget to earn poets :)

As for SOLD you will build that up easily and quickly with Dungeon Spamming/unlocking.

I've unlocked a lot of things today(mostly HMs), and Aurum Vale I already completed that like 3 times.

I'm at i74 right now, progress going good so far.

Besides the main story you should also make sure to do the Hildibrand quest line (starts in Ul'dah.) It's needed to unlock a few trials, but it's also totally awesome and worth doing for it's own sake.
