the lack of a hunting log from level 50 to 60?
No but the daily hunts easily take its place.

And then some. The hunts make it sustainable continually due to the daily Centrio Marks that it gives you as well. It gives gratification and purpose to flying (which never gets old for me) and provides a steady small-flow of gil income as well.

btw whats the supposed optional dungeon you can only unlock by flying? Also wehy did ppl farm the vault so much when it isnt even a level 60 dungeon? wouldnt the ones (dungeons) after it quickly replace all that time you spent vault farming?
The Optional Dungeon is in Sea of Clouds, and it's post-60.
People farm the Vault because it gets you ready for the final storyline mission. And because grinding it is by far the fastest way to finish the climb to 60, so might as well get fast exp and gear.

so farming the vault gets you ready for the final mission and is better than (and has better gear than) the higher level Library dungeon?
Sea of clouds must be super optional.. its not even on this list:

The Library has better gear, but the Vault awards better exp faster.

Oops, got my vault and library mixed up! But you get the idea. Doing dungeons is the best way to exp while also hearing up, which is even more important for those trying to minimize side quests on their first jobs.

There's a 50/50 chance you'll get it 100% of the time.
