Apperntly the old level 50 story quesst pre heavensward now gives newbies gear up to il110, which I guess make it much easier for them to catch up to us and do HW content without having to do half the grinding/work we did. Now while I can understand that and it makes sense. Im wondering, if they wanted to streamline everything to make it fast for newbies to catch up then.... why didnt they make it so that all the optional level 50 dungeon unlock as soon as you hit 50 instead of you having to find all those different NPCs and do the sidequests associated with them to unlock the dungeons?

True. Those optional 50 dungeon quest unlocks are so dumb. I didn't even know a bunch existed because they're so poorly represented in game.

I... agree!

I wonder how SE might recycle some of the game's older content going forward... I kind of miss my old dungeons.

It's actually made some of my friends quit. They came back after a long hiatus, realized they had to run all of them once to unlock roulette and said forget it. Seems like a ridiculous reason to quit, though I guess it's just unecessary leg work.

Rather than make all of those dungeons unlock, I feel as if they should go the same route as with leveling roulette and just have the roulette unlock as you get a certain number, then as you open up more, the bigger your bonus becomes to encourage you to have them all unlocked, but not force you too before you can use the roulette.

Most dungeon unlocks were tied to the storyline and lore in some way. I understand what you're saying but I feel like they can't make the old content totally obsolete without disrupting the story which is kind of the point of a Final Fantasy game.

I actually misunderstood what Duo was saying.

I no longer agree. Smiley: frown

I like what Hyrist says. The roulette should unlock once all the storyline dungeons are completed. Then, perhaps give more of a roulette bonus (or a solid first-time completion bonus) for finishing each optional dungeon for the first time.

That way, the little quests to unlock those dungeons aren't trivialized, and people can still do those quests to unlock the dungeons, which is kind of a core component of a Final Fantasy game.
