For that to be the new "mor dhona" surely there really is a mender somewhere and I just dont see it right? >.>

Also Im curious I remember SE saying the open world in HW would pose a threat to player... Im curious what they did, cause so far im 58 an the only difference I notice in HW from other zones is EVERYTHNG (except sprites) aggro, theres NO nice monsters for you to walk up to at "pet" lol, other than that theyre no harder to kill than other zones and theyre still a joke to run away from thus making "the fear of getting aggro" once again non existent, as I can aggro awhole zone and know after 30 feet theyll all turn around and leave me alone... if ya cant run 30 feet w/o dying.. especially with sprint.. then well.. youre not very good lol.

Like with all "No where to go/nothing to do" afk spots per patch in this game, there's a good chance the mender simply didn't load for you due to the flood of people there. (If your server is populated.)

As for the dangerous open world, it's just prior to getting your ability to fly over everything, otherwise the only dangerous spot I recall is the initial drop from the sea of clouds main aetheryte as you can land on a gaelicat or dodo and die.

The mender is right next to the aetheryte. There's a map icon and everything.

HW mobs are definitely stronger than ARR mobs but you have to remember that power is relative and not all jobs are equal in terms of soloing. My DRG would run away if I aggroed a second higher level mob, meanwhile my SMN was killing level 60 hunt targets ate 52.

Machinist

So everyone says not only doe Machinist suck but its the worse job in game because its DPS is highly dependent on RNG (which if thats true that IS terrible) and not skill/knowing how to play your job... is there any truth to that? If so how could SE possibly think that was a good idea?

I've switched from MNK to MCH as my main and the job is perfectly fine. It is all about knowing how to play your job, the RNG is almost obsolete now with the new cooldown on quick reload. I can usually parse near the top in most things I do except when there's great DRGs, MNKs, etc in the party.

The problem with the job is it has ALOT going on and you're constantly looking at your hotbar rather than what's going on on screen. People seem to forget that BRD and MCH are support jobs, so they do offer something else especially in things like Savage where TP/MP management become an issue. Most end game groups have gone from no use in having BRD/MCH to it's almost mandatory to have one.

Sure, in your run of the mill content, if you can have good players in melee/caster roles, it's probably more beneficial. Again though, 3/4s of the players I run into are rather terrible at their jobs. I've seen PLDs out dps some and it just makes me cringe.

speaking of BRD is there anything a brd can do that i machinist cant or does better? i,e any reason for someone to prefer a brd over a machinist or vice versa?

I don't think that MCH gets an equivalent for Foe's Requiem. So if you have x3 casters in a party, a BRD will provide more bonus. Instead, MCH gets short term abilities that can nerf the damage output of a boss slightly, which might help with "tank buster" moves.
