Making new FFXIV forum need help and membersFollow

#1 Sep 15 2015 at 1:54 PM Rating: Sub-Default
Hi, I am making a website where people can trade in game items on the forum for forum gold instead of in game gil. This will benefit people for a few reasons:

They wont have to use in-game gil to buy items.

They wont have to work as hard to get a ton of gil for expensive items.

They will have a second way to buy and sell their items

And we plan to have a shop full of things like game keys and software keys and other things to spend forum gold on.

The website is called Final Fantasy XIV Trading and we are also going to have a community area and a RP section to go with the trading area.

We are looking for people that are interested in helping out with the community from Administrator, to Moderator, to just joining and helping increase post count and helping getting people to join.

Thanks, all.

How is not having to use in game currency to buy stuff retarded.... Please explain....

It will mostly target people who dont make a ton of gil

It's also good for people who craft and wont have to use gil to buy their crafting items.

I saw your post on the official forums and I'm still not sure what you're trying to do.

Who will be supplying the items you intend to give away with your forum points? Will people in game farm for them?

How will forum points be earned? Just from creating content like posts? Answering questions? Writing RP fiction? Paying real money?

What servers will this be active on? If you get 100 people participating but only 2-3 of them are on each server.... it won't work well. Might be better to start with one of the more populous servers like Balmung or Gilgamesh, and expanding if other servers express interest.

Forum points will be earned in several ways. No paying real money. I wont just get 100 people participating and even if there are only 100 people participating at first who ******* cares?????

People can sell their items that they have in game such as crafting materials and buy them without having to spend gil. So if you made 10 million gil you wont have to spend any of it because you can just use my website to get your materials.

Ways of earning points: Events, Posting, Selling, RP Fiction etc...

Well, I'd care if I was trying to buy an item on Lamia server and the other 99 people are on Balmung.

Seriously, I wish you luck in this endeavor, but you need a better business plan if you're going to convince anyone to partner up with you for the project. It's going to require a lot of time and effort from someone..... time that could be spent playing the game instead.

I have some demands. First, converting my post count here to currency there, negotiations starting at 1:1.25 conversion rate. Second, I get a first look deal with all items. Third, no loyalty stipulations.

No, your belief that negotiations during recruitment is a hate crime is a perfectly reasonable reaction.

You guys are obviously trying to destroy my topic. Instead of saying "yay a new community i'd like to help" you said "lets ruin his topic and insult his idea, and insult him for knowing thats what we did"

I'm advertising a website and you people are trying to make it unappealing by insulting my idea and giving negative comments.

You presented an idea and we gave you honest feedback. Deal with it.

Let me see. You guys insulted my every comment. You provoked me into responding negatively. You insulted my idea. You guys are trying to fill my thread with negative comments and insults towards the things i say so that you ruin my topic.

How unbelievably cruel.

I am trying to advertise my website. You guys know that the last thing I need is people saying bad things about my website in a topic where I am advertising it so you are doing what you are doing in an attempt to be hateful and cruel towards me.

This idea seems like you would need a ton of players already participating just to get other players interested. Separating, tracking and updating all of the necessary data seems logistically impossible on the scale you would need it to be for the idea to be successful. I'm selling Smiley: frown

Cat gave honest feedback. You just said, "That sounds retarded". That may be your honest opinion but it's also insulting and in no way constructive or helpful. Can you blame the guy for being upset about it?

(Of course he then went on to completely overreact in a hilarious manner.)

Actually, the idea isn't even really that original. It's largely what is being done at XIV Bubblegum (albeit not for in-game items - but for real life items like the fat cat charm. Eeeee!)

Difference is, Rosieposie is a professional web designer, purchased a real domain, and baked the gumball points system into every aspect of the site from the beginning.

Since you spent zero time in the Zam community before trying to lure it to your community that does not yet exist, I'll clue you in on something.

That's the problem.

Zam communities tend to take a dim view of people with no history here coming in and trying to just poach people away. And that's what you're seeing here.

Also your attitude in response to the one person here who took you seriously and tried to have a dialog with you (Catwho) is really sad. It's also revealing of the kind of person you are and the kind of community you'd be in charge of. I know that after reading your responses to Catwho, I have zero interest in anything having to do with you.

How is my feedback any different from hers!?!?

Nah, I totally get why he'd react that way to what I said, but that he gave Catwho the same reaction (who was completely respectful and constructive in everything she said) shows what kind of bozo we're dealing with.

You guys are missing the point. I didn't ask for feedback, I advertised a forum, and you guys spammed disapproval that isn't even relevant both because you hate me and want to be mean and to deter people.

"its like bit coin but way worse" ..... It's new.....

BrokenFox your feedback was different because it was nothing but an insult and I didn't ask for feedback in the first place.

Callinon its because I'm Bob stop being a jerk.

And people making fun of my forum in an advertisement thread.

Catwho ... If I purchased a real domain you would have just made me waste my money. I am also professional about how I do things. There's nothing unprofessional about my website. I know exactly what I am doing. I didn't spend money on a real domain in case this happens.

She's no better than me, people were just willing to jump on board and help her because she isn't Bob

It's good to know that an entire country gangs up on someone and hate crimes them because they are helpless enough lol

Land of free....dumb people sadly :(
