Zell. I don't personally like him, but he's the embodiment of most teens from the 90s. Eager to jump into **** headfirst.

FFVI - Relm! I loved what they were able to do with the character in general in terms of story and I always thought the dynamic of her skills in battle were interesting. I would love to see FFXIV dive back into the FF games of yore and revisit some jobs/classes that would translate well by current standards.

Bonarpant from FFXI. Obvious reasons.

Kidding of course. I think they would all come from XI though because the interaction in single player games almost forces the characters on you. With XI you kinda had to be willing to do the sometimes meaningless sidequests or skipable missions to get to know NPCs.

Ayame. Got a thing for dark haired grils from the east who can skillchain with themselves. Also because she gave me sexy pants.

Very close runner up would be Ajido-Marujido. Minister of magics, creataru of the cardians and we are both history buffs.

Second runner up would be Sea Horror. Probably the most entertaining NPC for me just based on how much time I spent on the ferry trying to skill up my fishing. I'm sure everyone remembers their first encounter with this guy.

You fork over your gil and almost burst with anticipation waiting on the ferry to carry you between Mhaura and Selbina. Finally the ferry disembarks and you're greeted by the soulful sounds of the ferry theme and a bunch of then unfamiliar sneak spam. You mash the ferry door open hoping to catch a glimpse of a whale or even a seagull when suddenly... hentaicles Smiley: sly

I know it sounds disturbing, but when you're riding the ferry back and forth for hours a day crossing your fingers for a single 0.1 or even a miraculous 0.2 skillup, the sound of noobs spattering across the deck of the ferry was actually quite soothing. FWIW I always helped raise them when we reached our destination.

XI had a lot of interesting side characters that you wanted to learn more about. Always thought Valaineral was really cool.

I agree, XI had some of the best side characters in the entire series. XIV has tried a few times but I haven't loved them the same way I loved the XI crew. (Closest XIV has gotten now is Sanson and Guydelot from the 50-60 bard quests. I want more stuff with them, they're a pair of cards.)

My personal fav is Nana Mihgo. Passed over for leadership of the Kazham Mithra tribe by her own mother because of attitude reasons, she fled to Windurst and started the second biggest crime syndicate outside of the Tenshodo. Impatient, impetuous, and catty to a fault, it's pretty clear why the mighty war hero Roma Mihgo declined to let her kitten take over the tribe when she retired. She had too much of her father (Lehko Habhoka) in her.

Naja Salaheem was my favorite little hated princess. This woman travels to a larger nation, establishes their most successful mercenary company. all to support her home lands. She completely abandons her royalty status and leads like a woman on a mission. She manipulates you into helping but eventually genuinely cares about you. She is obnoxious which is why I think a lot of people didn't like her, however she was easily one of my favorite characters from XI and severely under appreciated.

Yep, part of why I can't stand XIV's story/world..nothing has made me care about most of the characters aside Raubahn, since he's similar to XI's in a few ways (but less eat your soul.) XI does have quite a lot of likable characters. I even like Sylvie since the little Unity chat gives the NPCs even more "life"..

Sazh. Man's kid is cursed and he goes to the ends of the world, and gets himself cursed and hated by everyone to save him, all while being in a pretty bad game and not even all that good a player character.

Agreed. Aside from Estinien and Raubahn I really don't give a **** about the cast of XIV. Alphinaud could get eaten alive by alligators and I wouldn't care at all.

Sephiroth for sure, no one really mentions him, I personally think he is an well detailed and thoroughly underrated character.

/sarcasm off

I actually think Irvine from FF8 deserves more of a look in. He initially comes across as a cocky womaniser who treats his upcoming assassination mission like an everyday occurrence. But when it comes down to actually pulling the trigger, his whole demeanor breaks and you see he is really a vulnerable loner who really isn't cut out for that line of work, and I thought that was great.

I tried to troll with Cloud and they Defaulted me :P

I suppose my serious answer would be Cid from 8, for going along with the whole massive plan to kill his wife.

Lets not forget that the ones you do care about seemingly get killed off rather blatantly or meet an untimely demise at one point or another... There's a lot of death in XIV.

Yeah generally for shock value too..which I hate the most. Like in XI I understand some of the sacrifices or deaths there outside of shock value, but in XIV some of the ones just seemed..forced.

....Then "it's ok guys they were just sleeping!" Well..one is definitely dead but still.

This is a very difficult question. It could be taken as under appreciated in the story itself in which the character appeared or it could be how they are under appreciated by the general community.

From the community aspect, I often don't see Edge from Final Fantasy 4 getting a lot of love. Considering everything that he went through and still was able to push through it and even became stronger as a result. Serious props to him.

From a game aspect, I always felt like Setzer from Final Fantasy 6 went under appreciated. It was through both airships that the party could accomplish most of it's goals and despite that he is sometimes talked down to a bit.

Kefka for ruler of the universe. Just sayin.
