After you complete the quest for the first time Mimidoa says this in a cutscene:
"Mimidoa: Wouldn't you agree, 'nitiate? Hmm...speakin' of rememberin', you remind me o' someone. Somethin' about the eyes... Oh, aye! Yer the spittin' image of a lad as once helped me drive back an army o' the undead. A right tough bugger, he was. Like you, only taller.
Mimidoa: Never did find out what happened to him, but lookin' at you, I'm guessin' he settled down an' sired himself an heir or two. Ahh, it brings a tear to me eye seein' you carryin' on the family tradition. I'm much obliged to ye, lad. Much obliged!"

He's referring to you. The "time jump" has been quite a bit "technically", so just faulty memory.
I thought 3.0 was only about six months, timeline wise, from 2.55? 3.1 would be another six months. Pharos Sirius was about 2.2 or 2.3 I think, so let's add on another six months.
A year and a half, two at most since the original Pharos Sirius.
Mimidoa's memory isn't just faulty, it's straight out short circuited. I'm surprised he hasn't been forced into early retirement. I guess he's still good at making boats?

Except he wouldnt be "random" if Mimidoas called him a "hero" and all this other stuff... I mean so yeah I would remember someone whos the equivalent of Superman 10 years later if i bumped in to him today..
Its not like Im just some random strange he bumped into on the road 5 years ago and said Hi to and that was all in which case THEN yes I wouldnt expect him to remember me years later
This is Mimidoa we're talking about. A grandpa Lala who can't even remember what he ate for breakfast this morning, let alone how long ago the Warrior of Light helped him defeat Siren.
